Rig for Testing Suspension Components

Development of car suspensions needs optimalisation of comfort, durability over external conditions, reduction of un-sprung mass, car handling. This requirements often need contradictory solutions and during solving it is necessary to take compromises. Verification of durability of car suspension is better while developing the whole car. Therefore, many solutions of car suspension test rigs are created. This thesis brings summary of existing solutions and their construction. This thesis brings its own solution of the suspended test equipment, strength calculations of main components. You can find here procedure of testing components on this test rig as well. Written ideas for future development of this rig are mentioned in last chapter
Frame of semi-trailer NCH39 for woods transportation

This dissertation deals with the car trailer for wood transporting body frame concept. The main part of this work is a strength check of the supporting frame, further the design of suitable structural modifications and it’s check calculation of the stress state. The strength check of the frame is done by the help of the finite elements method. The part of this work is drawing documentation of the frame. This dissertation was developed in cooperation with SVAN Chrudim s.r.o., company.
Renovation of railway wheelsets

This bachelor´s thesis deals with an analysis and a description of railway wheelsets´ renovation. The theme offers a complete view of a technology, conditions and renovations´ posibilities. In the theoretical part, there is mentioned a basic terminology with an overview of all defects and also their removing in the workroom practice. Practical part is illustrated with the technological process of a repaired vehical in the company DPOV, a. s. PSO Nymburk. In the end, there is a summary of all potencial possibilities leading towards improving the functioning of the company with the emphasis on renovation of a components, which nowadays must be eliminated out of operation.
The unit of a semi-trailer with box body with extensible sidewalls

The purpose of this thesis is to establish the basis for a presentation study, whose goal is to approximate the problems and dilemas of special semi-trailer with extensible sidewalls construction to the future consumer. The thesis explains which parts the semitrailer is made of as well as which essentials should be considered when designing the construction itself. The paper partly shows one particular semi-trailer project. On this project the calculation of stabilisation system, solidity analysis of the extensible part frame and the complete visualization of the trailer unit have been completed.
Suspensions of passenger and race cars

Bachelor thesis focuses on comparing different types of axles between them with emphasis on changing the geometry during propružení.In student version of Autodesk Inventor Professional was created virtual models of axles and virtual test polygon. The output of the program are a series of images showing the axle during springing. Changes in geometry are quoted, described and analyzed. In conclusion there are compared to civil rights and race suspension.

Bachelor thesis contains kinematics analysis of semi-trailing arm axle and her effect on driving properities. Further is work conversant by design of this axle. Summary with description of chosen design is made. The last part is focused on other types of axles, each of these axles is compared with semi-trailing arm axle.
SxS Vehicle Concept

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create your own conceptual design of an SxS vehicle. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part consists of a search, where the individual types of axles used in SxS vehicles, their specifics to common types of suspension are analyzed in detail and then the design solutions of major manufacturers are compared. In the next part of the research, the basic types of drive devices are listed. This chapter is divided into parts (engine, transmission, differential, etc.). Here, too, there is a chapter on special requirements for these components, as well as a comparison of major manufacturers, respectively. their solution. The last part describes the conceptual design of the SxS vehicle itself using some computational relationships, but it is not a structural design, and this part serves more for an idea.
Axles of modern cars

This bachelor thesis focuses on desicribing of common axle types, their modern solutions and modifications, which are brought by a usage of electronic and hydraulic systems, and discusses their properties as well. The next part of the thesis deals with types of axle differentials and their modern electronic substitutes. The most common brake types, brake assistant systems and main types of vehicle wheels are mentioned in the last chapter.
Physical axle model for dynamic tests

The aim of this thesis is the design of a physical axle test station, along with a virtual dynamic model, with the purpose of vehicle suspension tests. The axle, or half-car, model is the answer to the inaccuracies of the most widely utilized suspension model, and the high cost of the full vehicle testing. The motivation for the new test station and its virtual model is the prospect of accurate, quick and effortless testing and optimization of the vehicle suspension characteristics. The existing solutions in most cases substitute actual suspension elements (axle) and wheels with auxiliary parts leading to a departure from reality. The design of the new test station is based on the analysis of current physical model solutions and in accordance with set requirements. The tester substitutes the vehicle Škoda Fabia I Hatchback and utilizes its actual rear axle including suspension elements. The assembled rig, or rather its functionality, is successfully experimentally verified. The created virtual dynamic model, using ADAMS software, is identified against the designed test station, while the obtained simulation results are compared with the experiment data. Meeting the experiment predictions and virtual model results validates the tester’s ability to sufficiently reflect real car suspension behaviour and it is ready for further vehicle spring and damping properties testing.
Mobile separator of the gravel and sand into individual fractions

This thesis focuses on a research analysis of the technology of similar separators, the legislative regulations of the trailers and the conceptual design of the mobile gravel sorter itself. The thesis also includes functional, dimensional and force calculations of the individual nodes of the classifier. The classifier also includes conveyor belts for conveying material up to a height of approximately 1.5 m. Calculations and selection of the necessary drives for certain parts of the machine are also included. Furthermore, the work includes strength FEM calculations of selected structural nodes under different loading regimes. Finally, the DEM simulation of the sorting process in Altair EDEM is discussed. The thesis, including the assembly drawing, also includes a drawing of the weldment subassembly of the separation drum and frame. Selected shop fabrication drawings are prepared for this sub-assembly as a basis for fabrication of selected components.
