Methodology for Investigating Sex Crimes (selected issues)
Somogyiová, Jana ; Konrád, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
Methodology for Investigating Sex Crimes (selected issues) Abstract This thesis deals with the methodology for sex crimes investigation, specifically rape. The goal of the thesis is to describe the specifics of the rape investigation methodology, evaluate current legislation and, where appropriate, propose recommendations to improve the situation. The theme is very topical nowadays, as there is a lot of attention paid to rape by our society. However, the myths surrounding rape continue to affect the attitude to the victims and remain a problem. In order to present a more comprehensive view on rape, this thesis is divided into five chapters that examine the issue not only in terms of investigation methodology, but also in other related fields such as criminal law and criminology. The vast majority of the thesis is theoretical and is based primarily on an analysis of Czech and foreign literary sources and legislation, however it is also partly supported by examples from practice for better understanding. The final part of the work is empirical research, based on analysis of judicial and police files. Research has been conducted on 84 rape cases reported in the South Bohemian Region of Czechia in the past 12 years. The research covered 3 hypotheses that were more or less confirmed. The first hypothesis...
Hierarchy and human behavior. BDSM as an alternative sexual behaviour.
Jozífková, Eva ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Bob, Petr (referee) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee)
Preferences for sexual arousal by overstated dominance and submission in sex is categorized as F65.5, sadomasochism, according to ICD, but this behaviour is called BDSM among the general public. The ground of these preferences could be ultimately biological. These preferences reflect behavioural strategy which enables to gain higher reproductive success. Men and women who were sexually aroused by a submissive partner had more male relatives than men and women with other preferences. Contrary to the women, the dominant men reported themselves as more attractive. Women who were aroused by a higher-ranking partner considered themselves more attractive. Sons of couples in which was hierarchical disparity had more siblings than sons of "equal" couples or couples with no hierarchical disparity. Daughters of hierarchically disparate couples had more brothers than daughters of "both dominant" partners. Concurrently, number and gender of offspring as well as self- reported attractiveness are likely to be criteria of the reproductive success in humans. It is also interesting that hierarchically disparate couples, without regard to gender of higher-ranking partner, reached higher reproductive success than "equal" couples. Individuals who preferred higher- or lower-ranking partner were also aroused by...

Furthermore, I am introducing the most common myths related to sexual assault. In the fourth chapter individual trails typical for sexual assaults are to be found as well as the...
Criminal and Criminological Aspects of the Rape Crime
Koukalová, Tereza ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (advisor) ; Vokoun, Rudolf (referee)
Criminal and Criminological Aspects of the Rape Crime Abstract This master thesis deals with the crime of rape within the meaning of Section 185 Act No. 40/2009 Coll., the Criminal Code. The thesis analyses the criminal as well as criminological aspects of this crime and is therefore divided into two parts. The aim of the author of this master thesis was not to give a complete and all-inclusive interpretation of the crime of rape, but rather to give the reader a comprehensive understanding of the problem of this crime in a way that would as well as an informed reader allow so people without a deeper knowledge of this area of criminal law. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the criminal aspects of the crime of rape and deals with the historical development of this crime from the very beginning of civilized society and its influence on the contemporary legislation. The chapter dealing with the current regulation of the crime of rape then discusses its basic features, the aggravating circumstances and the developmental stages. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the issue of the crime of sexual coercion and the crime of sexual abuse and their similarities to the crime of rape, as well as significant differences between them. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the criminological aspects of the...
Sexual coercion /section 186 of the Penal Code/ and other offences against human dignity related to sexuality
Stránský, Daniel ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (referee)
The main theme of this thesis, as the name suggests, is the crime of sexual coercion. This relatively new offense is regulated in seven paragraphs of Section 186 of the Penal Code. Since its introduction into Czech criminal law, it has been a useful addition to the crimes of rape (Section 185 CC) and child sexual abuse (Section 187 CC). It allows the criminalization of offenders who have committed such unlawful acts against human dignity related to sexuality, in particular the freedom of an individual to decide on their sex life, in cases, where sexually aggressive behaviour of the perpetrator has not reached the intensity of rape or child sexual abuse, while the perpetrator remained in the role of an observer, while the victim was forced to satisfy the erotic perception of the perpetrator through his (victim's) body and his own actions. In the first chapter the topic of legal regulation of sexual offenses is set in historical context. Later in the thesis, the crime of sexual coercion is analysed, described, explained and clarified in detail, the thesis deals with its object, physical elements (actus reus), offender (the subject) and mental elements (mens rea), including qualified facts and individual developmental stages. The offense of sexual coercion is further compared with the offenses of rape...
Development of dual technology for the treatment of winter rape and spring barley seeds
OLŠAN, Pavel
The dissertation thesis deals with the use of low-temperature plasma and biological treatment of winter rape seed and spring barley as an alternative to chemical dressing in relation to the Decree on Integrated Pest Management 205/2012 Coll. The seed treatment technology is conceived as a two-phase process, where a lowtemperature plasma discharge of the Gliding Arc type ignited in the air at atmospheric pressure is used in the first step and a biological preparation containing spores of Trichoderma virens is applied to the treated seed as the second step. The plasma discharge treatment allows to increase the wettability of the seed surface, which improves the adhesion of the biological preparation in the second treatment step. Plasma also enables to activate selected processes taking place in seeds, which support their germination and subsequent growth. The content of the dissertation is divided into four sub-units which are mutually related: 1. determination of plasma discharge parameters for subsequent applications in the proposed technology, 2. carrying out laboratory experiments to assess the effect of plasma on seed, 3. carrying out field experiments to compare crop yields for different seed treatment options, 4. proposal for a regulation for seed treatment in a continuous mode by plasma discharge followed by application of the preparation and production of a functional sample. The work is markedly interdisciplinary and intervenes in the field of plasma physics, chemistry, plant production and construction of technical equipment. From the results achieved we can give a short summary: 1. Plasma discharge treatment of winter rape and barley seeds results in increased surface wettability. 2. No difference in the absorption of plasma treated and untreated seeds was observed during the experiments. 3. Developed dual seed treatment technology has the potential to increase yield. The dissertation thesis was realized within the project TA04021252 ? "Development of equipment for physical treatment of seeds and malt using low-temperature plasma."
The MeToo movement and its reflection in selected Czech printed media outlets
Knížková, Gabriela ; Krobová, Tereza (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
This Bachelor thesis aims to research and describe the media image of the MeToo movement, which prompted women to share their experiences with sexual violence on social media. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the MeToo movement and its evolution from a local initiative to help socially disadvantaged African American women to its current state, impacting predominantly the American entertainment industry following the scandalous sexual predátory behavior of Harvey Weinstein, a Hollywood producer. The next chapter describes the way the MeToo movement proceded to affect the Czech Republic a the reactions it elicited in Czech society. The thesis also examines the complex issue of sexual violence, its forms and effects and the way its looked upon in Czech society. The media research in this thesis studies texts from Czech online media outlets iDNES.cz, Novinky.cz and Respekt.cz, published between November 2017 and January 2018. The research is completed through the method of triangulation. The method of Berelson content analysis is used and followed by a qualitative method of interpreting the texts. The thesis is complete with charts and a list of analysed articles.
Criminality in the Czech Repulic
Doležalová, Barbora ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Palanská, Tereza (referee)
This thesis aims to analyze factors influencing crime rate in the Czech Republic. From time immemorial, crime rate has been a part of our society and its impacts do not influence only its victims but the whole economy as well. The main contribution of this thesis is an econometric analysis of the most recent panel data of Czech counties from 2010 to 2017. Thanks to this dataset we identified factors and their significances. For more accurate results we also examined factors influencing particular crimes - robbery, burglary, rape and murder. By analysis we found out that unemployment rate is significant factor, however, this factor has negative relationship with crime rate. This relationship can be described that by increasing unemployment rate people more care about their belongings, hence, it is harder for criminals to commit a crime. Positive and significant relationship was found between unemployment and robbery. Furthermore, results show that the percentage of foreigners is positively significant to burglary and rape. Therefore, it is important to focus on integration of foreigners into our society. Moreover, income inequality is positively significant in a rape model and the deterrence is positively significant as well in a crime rate model.
