Overload of social service managers (Sources of stress overload of social services managers for people with psychiatric diagnoses)

This thesis focuses on managing stress overload in social services of social rehabilition for clients with mental disorders. The goal is to clarify the resources of the overburdened of the social service managers from the view of the managers. This thesis is divided into teoretical and empirical part, in witchteh conducted research and its results are described. Teretical part defines mental disorders and discusses possible characterizations and manifestation of behaviour within people with mentaldiseases. Nongaverment nonprofit organization and their management are disorders. An important part of thesis is chapter dealing with stress overload with focus on social service managers. All chapters of the theoretival part are based on knowledges from literature. The empirical part focuses on the conducted research with discovered sources of overload of social service managers as a focal point. Research design comes from qualitative methods. Framing of Mental Illness in Selected Media Outputs Focused on Destigmatization

The dissertation called 'Framing of Mental Illness in Selected Media Outputs Focused on Destigmatization' explores how the documentary series 'Life Behind the Wall', online documentary series 'You are not alone', an audio documentary series 'My therapy' communicate the theme of mental health. The work aims to find out how selected journalistic projects framed the issue of mental illness. The theoretical part of the work first deals with mental illness, the concept of stigma and the role of the media in its transmission. It also focuses on destigmatization and defining the most important destigmatization approaches. The next part presents the theoretical basis of concepts such as the influence of the media, agenda-setting and framing. The analytical part presents 10 frameworks, which have been identified using the method of grounded theory. The results are summarized in a discussion, where found frameworks and their limits are being evaluated and compared with best practices based on manuals for journalists and professional publications on mental illness.
Mortality in population with mental illness in the Czech Republic 2000-2017

Mortality in population with mental illness in the Czech Republic 2000-2017 Abstract The bachelor's thesis focuses on mortality in a subpopulation with mental illness. Risk factors related to mental illness that influence mortality of this subpopulation are described in the first part of thesis. Behavioural, social and patophysiological factors are included. Furthermore the main causes of death of this subpopulation are described and the mortality for individual causes is compared with mortality in the general population from these causes. Data from publication ÚZIS Psychiatrická péče for the period 2000-2017 of outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care are used in the second part of thesis to calculate indicators of incidence, prevalence, hospitalization and in-hospital lethality by sex, age and groups of diagnosis. In-hospital lethality is compared with mortality indicators in the Czech Republic with method of direct standardization and relative risk of death. Number of deaths where the direct cause of death is mental illness are compared by place of death. Mortality indicators in inpatient psychiatric facilities throughout given period are increased, intensity is decreasing successively and shows differencs by gender, age groups and groups of diagnosis. The Diagnosis of Paranoid Schizophrenia from the Perspective of Parents of the Diagnosed Individuals

In this bachelor's thesis, I deal with the experiences of parents whose descendants were diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. At the beginning of the theoretical part, I first describe several points of view which can be used when referring to psychotic states: a diagnostic perspective, non-diagnostic perspectives, and an anti-diagnostic perspective. Subsequently, I cover the diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia both from the medical point of view, through its diagnostic manifestations, progressive forms and possibilities of treatment, and as a factor significantly affecting the quality of life. Furthermore, I focus on attitudes, emotions, behavioral patterns and needs of the parents of the diagnosed descendants. The theoretical part of the thesis is concluded with a chapter concerning with various options of psychosocial support for a family system one of whose members has got an experience with a psychotic episode. The empirical part is focused on the experiences of parents whose descendants were given the diagnosis in the age of fifteen or later. Multidisciplinary team in the Implementation of Centres of Mental Health

This bachelor thesis deals with multidisciplinary teams of Centres of Mental Health, which are built within the implementation of the Reform of the psychiatric care system in the Czech Republic. One of the aims of this work is to find out the role of Centres of Mental Health and their multidisciplinary teams in the system of care for people with mental illness. The thesis also aims to find out how this new element of psychiatric care system in the Czech republic works in practice. The implementation and functioning of multidisciplinary teams are viewed from the perspective of their members, with whom seven interviews were conducted. Based on the testimonies of the interviewees, the theses presents the benefits of working in a multidisciplinary team with a target group of people with mental illnesses. In addition to the benefits of working in such teams, also the complications, which the staff experiences are discussed.
Employment of People with Schizophrenia

This diploma thesis is focused on employment of people with schizophrenia. The main objectives were set up as follows: what are the job opportunities for people with schizophrenia and further explore the experience of people with schizophrenia with employment or unemployment. The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and research part. The theoretical part is divided into six subchapters which not only specify schizophrenia and the issues associated with this disease but are also focused more closely on the employment of schizophrenic people and the history and current status of individuals with schizophrenia and also the Fokus organization. In the empirical part are analysed and processed research results. The qualitative research undertaken for the purpose of this thesis was realized in two phases. In the first phase there was a pre-research and then the research itself. For achievement of the necessary data and information, a qualitative analysis was chosen, which was carried out by the method of questioning using the technique of narrative interview. All interviews were recorded with permission of the communication partners and then rewritten. The obtained data were analyzed in Atlas.ti using open coding. The research sample of communication partners was obtained using snowball sampling. The sample consisted of six clients diagnosed with schizophrenia from the non-profit organization Fokus Tábor. Also, two social workers from the Fokus Tábor organization were questioned for gaining more detailed information. The qualitative research brought finding that employment opportunities are varied depending on individual needs, abilities and health of individuals. Furthermore, it was found that work is positively perceived by persons with schizophrenia, as work helps them primarily in their mental and physical condition. Last but not least, the experience of communication partners with employment or unemployment was examined. These experience according to the information obtained are positive mainly because of the helpfulness of employers. This diploma thesis can be a source of information for both general and professional public. The obtained results can further serve as a feedback to the employees of Fokus Tábor organization and it is also possible to use the work as a potential basis for further investigation.
Conception of case management in terms of mental health center

The main goal of the Strategy for the Reform of Psychiatric Care, published in 2013 by the Ministry of Health of the Czech republic, was to improve the quality of life of people suffering from mental illness. One of the results of this strategy was the emergence of new mental health centres. These mental health centres are meant to provide individualized social and health care to people with mental illness in order to prevent or minimize their hospitalization. The service is ensured by multidisciplinary teams which include professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and social workers. Case management is supposed to be a dominant form of the service provided. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the historical context of the case management and its recent exploitation in the mental health centres in the Czech republic. The empirical part focuses on a particular multidisciplinary team applying the case management method. Through qualitative research, it aims to identify the different parts of the case management and the constraints and obstacles of its application. Social work in the context of domestic violence combined with mental illness

The diploma thesis follow up the possibilities of social work with survivor of domestic violence having mental illness. The theoretical part summarizes the current form of social work with the target group of clients by survivor of domestic violence and the target group of clients with mental illness. In the practical part is described the investigation of this issue, analyzed interviews with social workers and proposal of work methodology. In the final discussion, the results of the survey and the success of the proposed methodology are controversial.
Issue of mental health care in the Czech Republic with a focus on the personal experience of the users

In my diploma thesis I would like to introduce the readers to the issue of mental health care in the Czech Republic. I will focus on mental health definition, classification of mental illnesses, and also introduce services provided to people with mental illness. Furthermore, I will deal with the systém of mental health care in the Czech Republic, where I will try to point out the greatest positives and also some negatives of this system. The reader will also learn about Czech legislation related to this issue. Finally, I will inform about the psychiatric care reform, which started in 2013 in the Czech Republic - I will mention the main milestones, plan and strategy of this reform, and the benefits of this reform will be demonstrated on particular steps and realized projects. In the research section, I will focus on personal experience of care users, where thanks to the interviews, I can mediate the biggest mental health care problems from users point of view.
