Public Opinion on the Czech Academy of Sciences and its Funding - January 2016

In its January survey Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions related to activities of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It was explored trust in this institution, public ideas about the content of its work and opinion on the usefulness of the Academy of Sciences. One question was also dedicated to whether it is modern or outdated scientific institution. We also asked whether citizens think that the Academy of Sciences should be presented through some popular-scientific activities and whether they recently came across such activity. Last but not least we were interested in the public opinion on the funding of this institution from the state budget.

Sexuality and sexual behaviour in patients with bulimia neurosa

The authors deal with Sexual Behavior in Eating Disorders, especially in patiens with Bulimia Nervosa. In patiens with Eating Disorders we observe distortion of body image and negative affeetive evaluation of one's own body and personality, like a eommon symptoms. We assumed, the symptoms may influenee bulimie patienť s sexuality and sexual behavior. On the other side, we assumed the speeifie psyehosexual development, sexual experienees in ehildhood and personality features in bulimie patients ean also be a reason of Eating Disorder. Our question is: What is the sexuality and sexual behavior in bulimie patiens? We present our researeh on women, who are nowadays treated for Bulimia Nervosa. We speeially foeus on Coital Debut, Masturbation, Sexual Aetivities with a Sexual Partner, Sexual Exeitement, Sexual Disorders, Number of Sexual Partners, Sexual Orientation and Sexual Satisfaetion. In eomparison to normal ezeeh population in age 18-29 years, we observe these differenees. Patients have had a first relationship at higher age, they also have had a higher number of relatonships and higher number of sexual partners. The development of the export support policy in the Czech republic since 1993

This thesis is focused on the development of the support of exports in the Czech republic. The Czech republic is a relatively small country which means it needs international trade to be able to satisfy domestic demand because of the lack of resources. In the early 90's the Czech republic was a transforming economy with no measures of export support. Because the czech exporters needed the public support to succeed on foreign markets, all the financial and non-financial measures of the export support had to be implemented from the beginning. To support the export, the country concluded contracts about trade liberalisation, provided information and assistance services for exporters and provided also financial and insurance services with the state assistance. The thesis is divided into several parts according to the periods of implementation of the export support. In the first two periods till 2002 there was not a unified system of providing the export support, the state institutions did not cooperate enough and the whole support system has been developing till the present. Since 2003 the Czech republic has had a conception of the export support that stipulates conditions of functioning of the export support system and it includes the ways how to improve this system.

The Past and Present of Australian Immigration Policy

This paper deals with Australian immigration policy, its evolution and current situation. It analyses different waves of immigration to Australia from 1788, describing the first British migration, gold related Chinese migration or 19th century non-british migration. It goes further to explain controversial White Australia Policy including The Immigration Restriction Act of 1901 and core concepts of whiteness and Britishness. The post-war mass immigration program is then described in detail and its relation to shift away from White Australia is shown. The objective of keeping Australia white and British was substantially modified through the 1950s and 1960s. It was Prime Minister Gough Whitlam who officialy ended the White Australia Policy in 1973 and gave its support to the concept of multiculturalism. Measures of the Fraser, Hawke and Keating governments concerning immigration policy are also treated. The theme of Czechs and Slovaks in Australia is included, emphasizing on personal story of one czech immigrant. As the perception of immigration in Australia evolved from assimilation to multicultural society, the Australian approach to multiculturalism is covered in the next part of the thesis. Critical views on multiculturalism are decribed as well as the rise of Pauline Hanson's One Nation in 1990s or the topic of Australian Muslims. Changes in immigration policy under the Howard government and possible directions of new Labor government are outlined in the next chapter, including issues of refugees, current visa system in Australia or public attitudes towards immigrants.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem stárnutí a péče o staré lidi v rodinném prostředí. Co rodinu k péči o seniora vede a jaká jsou úskalí této péče. Jaké potřeby senior má a jak mu rodina může pomoci je uspokojit. Dále jaké potřeby má rodina jako pečující subjekt. Praktická část se věnuje tomu, jaké konkrétní pomoci se rodinám pečujícím o seniora může dostat na Semilsku a jak jí využívají. Uvedeny jsou i právní předpisy týkající se této oblasti a na případech z praxe je názorně ukázáno jaké instituce pomoc poskytují a jak jí pečující využili.

Intranet in the company and its function

Bachelor thesis, entitled "Intranet in the company and its function", deals with today's actual theme, which is related to the intranet and intranet portals. Nowadays, when a lot of information is available, searching for them becomes more complicated and time-consuming for employees. This is ineffective and in competitive environment it is disadvantage, which could mean a failure for the company. Main objective of this thesis is comprehensive introduction of intranet to the reader and to show him the latest trends by the description of its development. Next step is description of advantages and functions of intranet for the company. It also describes to treat about actual themes related to the projection and safety of intranet. This is strengthened in the practical part, where the analysis of intranet in a concrete company is made. In this analysis, facts written in the theoretical part are used.

The parish church and the pilgrimage place dedicated to the Name of the Holy Virgin in Sepekov

This graduate thesis is focused on the pilgrimage place and the parish church dedicated to the Holy Virgin in Sepekov nearby Milevsko. It is focused especially on its architecture, which was built from1730 to 1733 following by the second phase between the years 1760 and 1767. It tries to collect every accesible material concerning this topic and in the same time it aspires to incorporate this building in the context of the Czech baroque architecture. Separate sections are based on the work with period sources. Besides the architecture, a special attention was drawn to unknown Praque architect Thomas Haffenecker (1669-1730), who is considered to be a draughtsmann of this pilgrimage place. This thesis tries to show on the example of this church, that he deserves to be treated as an interesting architect full of invention.

BCRP in the placenta - expression, lokalization, function

Breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP, ABCG2, ABCP, MXR) is the 72 kDa multidrug resistance protein belonging to the family of ABC transporters. This efflux transporter is able to distinguish and actively extrude a wide variety of chemically and structurally unrelated compounds out of cells. BCRP is most expresse in the majority of human tissues, most abundantly it is expressed in the apical membrane of placental syncytiotrophoblasts. This localization predetermines BCRP to play an important role in protecting the fetus by limiting the penetration of various xenobiotics across the placental barrier. Because of the need to treat some diseases even during pregnancy the knowledge of transplacental pharmacokinetics becomes necessary for evaluation of potential toxicity and therapeutic value of the drugs in pregnancy. The aim of this work is to summarize the current knowledge concerning the expression, localization, polymorphism and function of BCRP transporter in placenta and also the role of BCRP in pharmacotherapy in pregnancy.

Forejtová Abstract Title of the thesis: French Film Festival Key words: French Film Festival, culture, film This work deals with the annual French Film Festival, especially in terms of organization and its overall progress. Its objective is to answer questions such as which institutions organize the Festival, who is involved in its funding, how the logo of the Festival and marketing are dealt with and who is responsible for selecting the films. It also represents the aim of the Festival and its cultural contribution. The thesis also focuses on the history of the Festival, including when and why the Festival arose, but also what changed in its structure over the years since its inception in 1996. This work shows among other things how the attendance of the Festival increased over the years. A few words are devoted to the future, especially to the forthcoming Festival 2012.
