Study of the elevated temperature influence on paper properties in the inert atmosphere
Novotná, Martina ; Hana,, Grossmannová (referee) ; Krčma, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis was aimed at study of the effect of various gaseous extinguishing media in an environment of increased temperature on the paper and its properties. Paper samples were exposed to elevated temperature in air, CO2 gas and gas mixtures of N2:Ar (1:1). The impact of conditions on the mechanical, chemical and optical properties of paper has been studied after exposure of the paper by extinguishing media under elevated temperature. The change of properties was determined immediately after exposure of samples under simultaneous conditions of fire, further one was determined for samples exposed to conditions of dry and wet aging. As a reference sample was used crude paper. Values of elasticity modulus, strength tensile, tearing resistance, the work needed for break tension, the total color difference and pH of samples have been determined. The results showed that every external influence causes at least some change in mechanical, optical and chemical properties such as increased temperature, the effect of extinguishing media or ageing of paper. The gas mixture N2:Ar (1:1) had the smallest influence on the sample paper, which was worked. Thus this gas mixture could be the best choice for the application in archive environments.

Regulation of production of enriched biomass and lipidic substances in carotenogenic yeasts.
Němcová, Andrea ; Ondruška, Vladimír (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
Carotenoids belong to the most abundant classes of natural pigments with important biological functions. In last years intensive studies focused on biotechnological production of carotenoids by suitable microorganisms were done. Presented work was realized as a comparative study of three yeast strains: Rhodotorula glutinis, Rhodotorula rubra a Sporobolomyces roseus. These strains were cultivated in different media with several waste substrates (potato extract, whey) as nutrition sources. Additionally, strains were exposed to some types of exogenous stress. All strains were able to use tested waste substrates as nutrition sources. Most of strains exhibited increased carotenoid production, in several conditions accompanied by high biomass formation. As the best producer of enriched biomass yeast strain Rhodotorula glutinis CCY 20-2-26 cultivated on medium with addition of lyophilized whey (9 g/l of biomass enriched by 2 mg/g of beta-carotene) and/or under mild salt stress.

Comparison of selected TV stations websites in the Czech Republic

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the selected Czech TV channels and to compare their present web pages according to the predefined evaluation criterias. First two chapters deals with brief specifications of basic types of media and with the introduction of selected TV channels operating on the Czech market. The third chapter analyses the created evaluation criterias, which will be used to compare the stated web pages. The fourth chapter focuses on methods of evaluation and determines for each criterion their weights. The next chapters compare each web pages of chosen TV channels in accordance with setted systematic criteria and the method of evaluation, first separately for each TV channel and then between each other. The evaluation and ranking are stated in the end of the thesis, both of them sorted from the best to the worst according to the evaluation method.

Studium složení kultivačních médií pro množení odrůd meruněk metodou in vitro
Kadlecová, Eliška
In vitro reproduction represents a vegetative way of multiplication, in which small disinfected pieces of plant (explants) are cultivated in a nutritious medium in sterile conditions in order to gain whole new plants. This method, also called micropropagation, is often used for research purposes and more and more often for commercial applications too. This work studies nutritious media for apricots. For Prunus armeniaca cultivars best described media are for bud and embryo cultures. Many different media were tested and it was shown that every cultivar of apricot has its own requirements of nutrition and growth regulators. In this work you can find descriptions of many successfuly used media for apricots along with responses of various cultivars to them.

The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the effectiveness of selected specialty fertilizers on the quality of nursery plants. The experiment was established in May 2013 and lasted for one growing season. It compares five options. To enrich the growing media nutrients were applied NPK fertilizer with micronutrients, Multicote 8 M, Osmocote 5-6 M and T Nutricote 100 for fertilizing during the growing season Kristalon Vega, Kristalon Gena, Yara Mila Complex and Vitality Complex. The experiment included 1 000 plants botanical species Cotoneaster dammeri SCHNEID. Endpoint was the length of the longest growth, the number of shoots, root system volume and the number of dead plants. Best results were achieved variant K, which was used for a combination of NPK fertilizer with micronutrients, Kristalon and Yara Mila Complex. Followed by variant fertilized combination products Multicote 8 M, Kristalon and Vitality Complex. Worse results were achieved by a combination of variants of fertilization Kristalon. The substrate for these variants were enriched fertilizers Multicom 8 M, Osmocote 5-6 M and Nutricote T 100, where the worst-hit variant using Nutricote T 100. Highest incidence of dead plants was in the variant K.

History of Tattoving: The Postmodern Era Meets Archism. Culture of "Modern Primitives"
Rychlík, Martin ; Kašpar, Oldřich (advisor) ; Todorovová, Jiřina (referee) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
History of Tattooing: The Postmodern Era meets Archaism. The Culture of "Modern Primitives" dr. Martin Rychlík The presented dissertation concerns tattooing as the main theme - its history, functions, techniques, media presentations, individual motivation and general human attitudes towards decorating (and mutilating) the body. The author, ethnology / social anthropology student Martin Rychlik (Department of Ethnology Charles University in Prague), provides a comprehensive overview of many aspects of tattooing - considered as an universal cultural custom, so far poorely mapped in the Czech republic. Tattooing is a very complex and archaic phenomenon that has roots in the ancient Stone Age. The first direct archaeological proof was found in 1991, in Soelden near the Austro-Italian boarder. The mummified remains of a 5300 year-old hunter/shepherd emerged from a melting glacier and got nickname "Oetzi". Other well known tattooed mummies are the Egyptian Middle kingdom priestess Hathor and the frozen Scythian chief from Pazyryk. Many "primitive" tribes worldwide have adopted tattooing as a means of expression. Among the best documented are those of the Maori, Ainu, Samoans, Dayak, Tahiti islanders, Inuit, South American Indians and nomadic Siberian groups. The first so-called renaissance of tattoo is associated...

Dental pulp stem cells
Suchánek, Jakub ; Koberová Ivančaková, Romana (advisor) ; Kukletová, Martina (referee) ; Hampl, Aleš (referee)
The aim of this dissertation study was to optimize the isolation and long term cultivation protocols for human dental pulp stem cells. The protocols which showed best results were used for cultivation of dental pulp stem cell isolated from exfoliated teeth (SHED). Additional aims were to characterize DPSC and SHED and prove their ability to proliferate over Hayflick's limit and differentiate into mature cell lines (osteoblasts, chondroblasts and adipocytes). In order to find optimal protocols for isolation of dental pulp from tooth, we tried three different approaches. During optimization of cultivation protocol we focused on decreasing amount of fetal calf serum (FCS) from 10 % FCS in cultivation media (most often used in literature) into 2 % and thus get closer to cultivation conditions suitable for clinical usage. We compared DPSC cultivated in three different media (medium with 10 % FCS, 2 % FCS supplemented with growth factors and media with 2 % FCS supplemented with ITS and growth factors). For characterization of DPSC and SHED we used basic biological properties (proliferation activity, viability, morphology), their phenotype and karyotype. The study demonstrated that the best protocol for isolation of dental pulp from tooth was to break the roots and extract the pulp throw this aperture. We...

Electronic Communication vs. Communication Face to Face
Pipková, Zuzana ; Krtilová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Bystřický, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with new forms of communication particularly electronic ones. The main goal is to distinguish electronic communication from face to face communication in a way that differs from traditional media theories. By using examples of the most important medium in electronic communication, Internet, it is shown that nowadays we have such forms of electronic communication that surpass the traditional classification of oral/written communication, immediate/mediate communication, face to face discourse/computer discourse. Critical views of significant media theorists are presented as well, mainly of Jean Baudrillard, Paul Virilio, Marshall McLuhan and Vilem Flusser which are also related to the best known and used examples of new forms of communication (e-mail, chat, Facebook, Youtube, Skype, blog etc.).

Aesthetics of Loathing and Disgust in the Works of Amélie Nothomb
