Theatre festivals in CZ – Summer Shakespeare Festival
Müllerová, Barbora ; Tyslová, Irena (advisor) ; Hanzlík, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is aimed at one of the most important theater festivals of its kind in the Czech Republic - Summer Shakespeare Festival. The greatest emphasis is on location in Prague, the major scene of a festival in the premises of the Supreme Burgrave's House of Prague Castle and the overall significance of the festival for the capital city. The beginning is devoted to the history of the Summer Shakespeare Festival in terms of creation of the festival and development of it's program. Many of the area gained marketing, which is essential in any organization of cultural events. You will find a theater festival as a specific product and how to make such a product ad. An important point is the blog and the views of the festival audience. Another chapter is devoted to financing Summer Shakespeare Festival and how to obtain financial and media support. Thesis shows the preparation and conduct of the festival in practice. The uniqueness of this project is to interconnect the theatrical performances and cultural monuments, so another part of the paper alludes to the scene and related matters. Final section is focused on programming plan of Summer Shakespeare Festival in the coming years and comparison of the importance of the festival not only in the scale of the Czech Republic.

Beginnings and history of state interventions into housing market using Czech market as example
Knap, Adam ; Poláková, Olga (advisor) ; Sunega, Petr (referee)
The goal of my thesis "Beginnings and history of state interventions into housing market using Czech market as example" is to illustrate circumstances (conditions) in which housing policy started to evolve. Next goal is to explain the reasons why state interventions on Czech housing market grew stronger. Historical circumstances, which were important in housing market shaping, are accompanied by analysis of historical sources. First part of thesis is focused on explaining basic terms regarding forming housing market and highlighting specialties of housing as (tady ten statek nevím). Second part demonstrates first state interventions in Czech Republic territory using historical legislative sources, statistical data and historical context. It starts in Austria-Hungary and then chronologically moves over two World Wars era and socialism to the present.

The British bipartisan - continuity or change?
Čápová, Magdaléna ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Říchová, Blanka (referee)
The electoral system in the United Kingdom is generally considered as the simplest method of voting and is associated with the functioning of the British twoparty system. The first past the post system has a capacity to strike in its outcomes, though. The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of the British party system since the 19th century up to current days. The analyze is based on the study of the general elections held between 1918 and 2005 and compares the data outputs by the indexes measuring the disproportionality, over-representation, under-representation and party system characteristics. The study discloses the weaknesses of the electoral system, which influence the shape of the party system. These weaknesses led twice to temporally deviation of outcomes in the two-party system. A special focus is given to the period after the World War 2 and current trends that are influenced by the changes in socioeconomic structure within the British society since the 70s. The main grounds of the greater electoral disproportionality are seen in the size of constituencies, over-representation of Scotland and Wales, and the increase in support for the third parties, lower turnout and tactical voting. Variety of factors is considered to answer the question about continuity or change of the British...

The influence of substitutions on the magnetocalloric effect in selected rare-earth compounds
Kaštil, Jiří ; Javorský, Pavel (advisor) ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee)
The anisotropy of the magnetocaloric effect was studied on DyNiAl single crystal. Our data reveal a strong anisotropy of the magnetocaloric effect. The large effect occurs for field applied along the c-axis whereas the entropy change is small for the perpendicular field direction. The influence of substitution on the magnetocaloric effect was measured in the Gd(Co1-xRhx)2 compounds (where x was from 0.05 to 0.30) and Dy(Co1-xFex)2 compounds (where x was from 0.00 to 0.03). The substitution of Co by Rh leads to a decrease of the transition temperature, Tc, and increase of the maximum entropy change. The Tc increases but the maximum of entropy change quickly decreases in case of Fe substitution. The last studied systems were the Gd1-xTbx alloys with x in range from 0.00 to 0.40. The influence of the sample shape and orientation was studied. The thin ribbon oriented along the magnetic filed gave the highest value of the entropy change. The three measurement techniques were used: the heat capacity measurement, the magnetization measurement and the direct measurement of the temperature change.

John Frederick of Wallenstein and his disputes over taxes to the Turkish war (1682 - 1694)
Havlík, Jiří ; Vlnas, Vít (referee)
The ann of this thesis of archbishop of Prague Johann Friedrich von Waldstein (1642 - 1694; archbishop 1675-1694) consists in description of conflicts with Czech land assembly and state apparatus in the years 1678, 1679, 1682-1686 and 1691-1694. The last and most important continued also after his death (3'^'* June 1694). That time Czech clergy sent two deputies (further archbishop Daniel Ignatius Mayer of Mayem and abbot of monastery in Plasy Andreas Troyer) to Vienna, to arrange adjustment of a dispount, which culminated on the beginning of the year 1694. Principal chapters of this thesis deal with conflicts in the years 1682-1686 and 1691- 1694 (chapters 4-7). These are based on detailed archive research, especially of sources of 1®' department of National Archives in Czech republic (Archives of archiepiscopate in Prague), Family archives of Waldstein, located in The Regional State Archives in Prague and Archivio Segreto Vaticano in Cittá del Vaticano. Some subsidiary sources I have found also in Archivům Romanům Societatis Jesu, The Regional State Archives in Litoměřice or in Archivio di Pontificia Universita Gregoriana in Italy, Main issue of the thesis shapes four points: First one was the description of main events of the history of Prague archiepiscopate (and in part also of Litoměřice episcopate),...

Some sociological aspects of the tramping movement
Urbánek, Vojtěch ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Urban, Jan (referee)
The aim of this theoretical paper is to describe and analyze some of the most important sociological aspects of the tramping movement which had a serious impact upon many areas of leisure activities in the Czech republic. Beginning with a brief historical outlook, it was shown how the tramping movement have substantially been affected by specific historical circumstances. This part endeavoured to point out the most important periods which had a formative impact on the process of the tramping movement development in to an incommutable part of the Czech cul ture. The following section of the paper is designed as an attempt to categorize the movement within the broader social contex. I emphasized some of its significant features, allowing us to analyze the tramping movement throught the concept of subculture with consideration of some strong ties to particular generations. Czech tramping was also a very important element in the development of second housing, especially in the surroundings of Prague. In its early stages, the movement defined the structure and the basic shape of recreational settlements which later became the typical part of the Czech landscape. I focused mainly on the relation between the tramping movement and the cottage culture and its changes through the course of time. The next chapter i s...

Inventories of inheritance of the early modem period nobility in the Principate of Opava and Krnov as a source of history of every-dayness (1650-1740)
Mašitová, Petra ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Fukala, Radek (referee) ; Maur, Eduard (referee)
Inventories of inheritance of the early modem period nobility in the Principate of Opava and Krnov as a source ofhistory of every-dayness The universa! analysis and comparison of nobility's inventories of inheritance is an object of the work. Concemed inventories were built in years 1650-1740, the bottom limit is given by the end of Thirty Y ears' War (late leave of Swedish garrisons from north Moravian and Salesian region) and the top limit corresponds with dividing of Salesian principalities after the lost War of the Austrian Succession. Time definition of the work deliberately ignores year 1620, which is much too stressed as an important marker by Czech historiography. From geographical point of view we cover the region of Czech Silesia, namely historie principalities of Opava and Krnov. The resources' base consists of agenda, which is located in Land archive in Opava, in the fund District executive of Opava-Krnov's principality in Opava 1507-1784. There are over 300 inventory numbers in the aforementioned fund, which contains inheritance and trusteeship cases from the 16th to 18th century. I am interested in 20 inventories of persons, whose houses acted in the area of Upper Silesia: Eichendorf, Vlčkové of Dobrá Zemice, Bokové of Burgvice, Bruntálští of Vrbno, Hodicové of Hodice, Brixové of Moncle and...

Fořt, J. ; Dobeš, J. ; Fürst, J. ; Halama, J. ; Kozel, K. ; Louda, Petr ; Příhoda, Jaromír
The paper shows examples of the use of in-house developed numerical codes in the design procedure of a turbine blade cascade. Numerical results of the flow field in axial turbine stator cascade with alternative shapes of blade profiles achieved by these codes are presented. Further, effects of grid, numerical scheme and turbulence model on numerical results are discussed. A model of laminar/turbulent transition together with preliminary numerical results for flow through a stator turbine cascade is also presented.

Morphometric analysis of palatal surface in patients with unilateral complete cleft lip and palate.
Rusková, Hana ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Trefný, Pavel (referee)
Thesis deals with the study of palate morphology and variability of patients with UCLP, using modern methods of geometric morphometrics. Dental plaster casts of UCLP patients (average age 14,8) and the control group (average age 14,7) were used for evaluation. The models were scanned using a 3D scanner. For evaluation of total variability of patients with orofacial clefts, previously rated dental casts of BCLP patients (whose age ranged from 12,1 to 16,5) were also included. All patients were operated and treated at The Clinic of Plastic Surgery in Prague. The results are in accordance with literature, which describes the basic size and shape differences in the morphology of the palate in different types of clefts (e.g. narrowing of the palate in UCLP and BCLP and asymmetry of palatal vault in UCLP). Using "Dense correspondense models analysis" average surface models were computed and new informations about the shape and premaxila position were gained. Different location and slope of the palate in different types of clefts and within control group were detected by superimposition of average models and FESA. UCLP palate have typically asymetric palate vault with a maximum height in front of the cleft palate and at the back in the side without malformations. Variability of the shape of palate for each group...
