Physico-chemical characterization of 3-hydroxybutyrate with respect to its bioprotective effects
Kahanovská, Kristína ; Smilek, Jiří (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
The main aim of the work was to verify bio-protective properties of 3-hydroxybutyrate (3HB) in terms of its effect on protein denaturation (especially lipase) and determine the physicochemical characteristics of 3HB that could lead to the explanation of the mechanism of its protective effect. The literature search focused primarily on the mechanism of the protective effect of the compatible solutes. The 3HB belongs to the group of compatible solutes. The protective effect of the 3HB was monitored by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). As the other parameters of the aqueous solution 3HB were determined: the dependence of the surface tension on the concentration of the 3HB, the effect of different 3HB concentrations on the zeta potential of the lipase. Hydrophobic and hydrophilic character of the 3HB was characterized with the log Kow parameter. A simple method for quantity determination of the 3HB aqueous solution was optimized. The method is based on conversion of the 3HB into crotonic acid by reaction with sulphuric acid at higher temperatures and on subsequent psectrophotometric determination of the amount of crotonic acid.

The revolt of 1953 and its interpretation in the tendentious newspapers in the GDR and Czechoslowakia
Kyselová, Petra ; Konrád, Ota (advisor) ; Nigrin, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the bachelor work "Uprising from the 17th March 1953 and its interpretation in biased press in DDR and ČSR" is to characterize the basic characters of the uprising, which took place firstly on 16th end 17th June in eastern Berlin and then in other east-German cities. In the first part I am trying to describe especially the reasons of this event, its course with focus on crucial moments, which influenced the following course of the uprising. I am also focusing on results, which this event had on other social-political development of the divided Germany. In the second part of my work I am characterizing the immediate interpretation of this event, created by the biased press in DDR and ČSR. In each country I will investigate the interpretation in party-, labor unions- and youth press. With consideration of control and censorship mechanisms, which in each country got concrete outlines, during investigation of interpretation of this event I will try to search for differences between periodicals and later between the two countries. I will observe, how each periodical characterize the event and if some unbiased facts and thoughts could have appeared. In comparison between the countries, my question is, if it was necessary the information coming from eastern Germany designated for Czechoslovak...

This bachelor thesis has its main focus on the literary genre of the Chinese vernacular short story. The thesis discusses characteristics, process of formation and coherent theories of the genre, and it also presents the most important 17th century short story writers. The thesis focuses on the analysis of features of literary characters, and it also includes a literary analysis of selected short stories highlighting shared characteristics of their protagonists. Individual chapters aim to provide an outline of the characters typology, specific methods of characterisation and the role of characters as elements of the semantic structure of the stories under scrutiny.

Characterization of poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) by IGC method
Petrášová, Sabina ; Sedláček, Jan (advisor) ; Pacáková, Věra (referee)
Poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) ( -conjugated polymer) was prepared as an insoluble polymer network via chain coordination polymerization of 1,4-diethynylbezene catalyzed with [Rh(NBD)acac] complex. Thermodynamic properties and acid-base characteristics of the prepared poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) were studied by means of Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC) in the temperature range 80-100 řC. Retention data of selected testing substances were used to determine the Gibbs energy of sorption, the sorption enthalpy and their acid-base and disperse parts as well as the disperse contribution to the surface energy and parameters of KA, KD, ANHPS and DNHPS quantifying the acid-base character of the studied polymer. The results showed that poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) interacted more efficiently with Lewis bases than with Lewis acids. The values of experimental sorption enthalpy were used for the determination of the parameters KA and KD. Values of these parameters classify poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) as the material with a slightly acid character. This conclusion is further supported by the results of H. P. Schreiber method based on the application of ANHPS and DNHPS parameters for the evaluation of the acid-base properties of the material. The infrared spectroscopy proved that poly(1,4-diethynylbenzene) contained...

Vadászová, Petra ; Nechvátal, Martin (advisor) ; Kochan, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explain and analyze the komplexity of complicated relations between France as a former colonial power and Ivory Coast, its former colony, who also represents a strategic french political and economical partner. Theoretical part consists of the analysis of different approaches in theories of international relations. Based on the analysis, it tries to explain the character of these relations. Followed by the consecutive theoretical analysis of the french african policy practice of the french presidents and searches for the features that these policies have in common. Practical part applies the findings from the theoretical part on the concrete problem in the case of the French policy towards Ivory Coast and tests the theoretical conclusions in the historical evolution of the french and ivorian relations in the specific unstable situation that occurs in the Sub-Saharan region.

Investigation of dependence of the housing characteristics and the amenities in the dwelling on the household type
Čapková, Kateřina ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Löster, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview regarding survey of income and living conditions of households in the Czech Republic and propose a feasible approach to the exploitation of the collected data. The diploma thesis describes the framework of the EU-SILC survey and presents its practical implementation in the Czech Republic. A technique utilizing contingency table analysis is proposed for studying asymmetric relationships between selected housing characteristics and amenities in the dwelling with respect to different household types. The analysis is based on the relative frequencies of housing characteristics observed for particular types of households. The frequencies stem from the sample survey of income and living conditions of households carried out in the Czech Republic under the official title of Living Conditions 2008. Asymmetric measures of association for nominal and ordinal variables were used for the description of the relationships as the examined housing characteristics and household types have the character of alternative, nominal or ordinal variables. The analyses show significant relationship of the selected housing characteristics and the amenities in the dwelling on the monitored types of households.

The usage of selected logistic methods in the manufacturing concern
KOHOUTOVÁ, Anna
The main aim of this work was to rate the usage of selected logistic methods and introduction of the operating system Kanban to the production line in the project {\clqq}C214 Top Roll`` of the company Faurecia Automotive Czech Republic, s.r.o, Interior Systems. A minor aim then was to find out the knowledge level of the Kanban method. Methodics Hypotheses: 1.The logistic flows used in the Faurecia company already function sufficiently enough, the proof of which is the stabilised production. 2.Using the operating system Kanban for functioning production, logistics and the whole company Faurecia is rather advantageous. 3.Training all the employees is a vital part in the process of introducing the operating system Kamban. Methods: deducion, situation analysis - collection of information, interviews, survey, questioning brief, modeling Structure of the practical part is following: company profile, character of pruduction and setting of the main logistical flows, determination of zones and stock sectors, process implementation and using of Kanban in the production line "C214 Top Roll". The first hypothesis can be confirmed by the situational analysis which evaluates the processing and logistic method. The individual methods {\clqq}met`` or {\clqq}nearly met`` the demands and because all the methods together partake of the production and the production has provided very good results in the previous months, we can consider the production being stabilised. The second can also be affirmed. If the production on a particular assembly line is stabilised, it is possible to introduce the Kanban method. Why not to use it if a there is a great advantage of this method in simplicity and lower production supplies which result in decreasing the total costs? It is beneficial for all participating on the production and for the Faurecia company as a whole. Third hypothesis can be confirmed as well. There has been a survey based on short questionaires and the knowledge of working and using the Kanban has been found inadequate. The best form of providing all the important information will be a training as a part of the process of introducing and using the Kanban method. Both aims have been resulted in stating possible recommendations and improvement suggestions: - production is stabilized, Kanban is possible to apply on 1.9. 2008 - training is necessary, meeting of responsible persons, control, messing, measures, - training of current and new workers, - motivation, communication improve, - system of regural records about information and control of chief (material and production planning)

Contemporary legend and rumor in the Czech Republic. Origin, genesis and social and cultural function of domestic urban folklore in international context
Janeček, Petr ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Ulrychová, Marta (referee) ; Pospíšilová, Jana (referee)
(English) Ph.D. Thesis Contemporary Legend and Rumour in the Czech Republic. Origin, Genesis and Social and Cultural Function of Domestic Urban Folklore in International Context Petr Janeček Presented study analyzes character, origin, genesis and social and cultural functions of specific type of prosaic oral narratives transmitted in contemporary oral and non-oral tradition on territory of the Czech Republic. Main attention is given to realistic narratives with primary informative and entertaining function, which are usually presented by their tellers as at least potentially real story or information about actual, genuine happenings of both local and social importance, but whose variants, versions and editions simultaneously circulate over wider geographical and temporary horizon. Because of that, these narratives are labelled by international folkloristics as folklore genres of "contemporary legend" and "rumour". After overview and critical analysis of history of international studies of these two genre concepts, their terminology and genre (both formal and thematic) characteristics in international and Czech folkloristics are presented, as well as relationship of these genres to similar contemporary folklore forms, especially gossip, conspiracy theories, anecdotes and jokes, demonological...

War: persons and characters. Who wages war in western political-philosophical tradition
