Use of modern methods in treatment of chronic wounds
LEPIČOVÁ, Zuzana
Healing and treatment for chronic wounds are big problems and they affect overall states and fate of patients who are immobile after heavy injuries in consequence of some diseases or because of penetrating wounds. Prevention and treatment flowing from profound knowledge of anatomy, skin physiology, pathology and patho-physiology of defects origins and of healing process is currently taking a big step forward in treatment for refractory wounds. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with skin anatomy and physiology, pathology and patho-physiology of origins of defects, healing processes and proper treatments of wounds, especially chronic wounds such as ``diabetic foot syndrome{\crqq}, venous and arterial ulcerations and decubital ulcers. Preventative measures against decubital ulcers are described. Documentation of refractory wounds, 3 phases of healing and continuum of healing are described in detail. Re-bandages, the local wound care, are the most significant factor of treatment. Re-bandages follow standard procedures, which involve make-ready of patients, preparations of wounds for re-bandages, preparations of instruments and make-ready of attending staff. Good re-bandage assistance is crucial. Modern treatment methods include various new types of wound cleanup (from the mechanical one, chemical one and autolysis to the enzymatic one, with the use of larva therapy, for example) as well as the usage of very effective ``moist healing{\crqq} methods. Various contact - not adhesive bandages, foams, alginates, hydro gels, antiseptic bandages, dressings with active Carbon, hydrocolloids, hydro adherent dressings, hydro fibres, bandages with active AG ions, chitosin, dressings with hyaluronic acid, collagen bandages, dressings with iodine, mupirocin, or honey. The practical part is dedicated to qualitative research, in a way of non standardised interview. There were two thesis objectives: To map the usage of modern treatments for refractory wounds and to enlighten general nurses in this field. 15 nurses, who deal with chronic wounds, from various emergency wards and hospital wards took part in the interviews. Information was collected from February 2010 to April 2010 and it was elaborated into 15 casuistries. The result of analysed answers was digested into a table. In the Discussion I analysed the particular answers and set 3 hypotheses for each domain. Domain 1: H1: Modern treatments for healing of wounds are not systematically used at most units. H2: Monolithic systems for usage and indication of modern methods do not exist at most units. H3: Statistics of chronic wounds existence is not kept at many units. Domain 2: H1: Trainings are organised by medical facilities in collaboration with distributing companies but their capacities do not satisfy the interest of applicants. H2: Most nurses declare good knowledge of chronic wound healing phases and of continuum of healing. H3: Neither managers of medical facilities nor health insurance companies have sufficient knowledge regarding the ``cost {--} benefit{\crqq} of chronic wound treatments. The Conclusion summarise the whole thesis. The importance of follow up treatment and rehabilitation for subsequent fate of afflicted patients and their families is underlined in this part.

Based on publicly available data the comparison between FSV's position on the Czech and market of European Union is presented. The last part of the thesis reflects own online survey which proved or disproved each of 7 stated hypotheses. Over 350 respondents had filled in the questionnaire. The profile of FSV users, their motivation (demotivation) to a purchase, long-time experience, the most popular goods and servers are also broadly described.

Analysis of Czech pied cattle milk performance and fertility.
NÁVARA VOLFOVÁ, Kateřina
The main goal of all milk cattle breeders is herd making profit {--} the herd with good reproduction and consequent high production performance. Such a goal can only be reached if the herd is of quality genetic base. Cow{\crq}s milk performance is one of important factors influencing final economic results of milk production. The aim of this Diploma work was to examine lactation course and level as well as reproduction of high-performance Czech pied diary cows with regards to their genetic base. The diary cows (190 pieces) on lactation within 27th March 2008 {--} 13th June 2008 were examined. The examined cows were divided into three groups based on number of their lactation. These groups with cows on 1st, 2nd, 3rd lactation were further divided with regards to their genetic base into herd groups registered as C1 and C2. The sub-herd group C100 was isolated from C1 herd group. To each lactation group, 2{--}3 bulls were assigned based on the highest number of daughters in specific lactation group. Minimum criterion for bull assignment to lactation group was set on at least 5 daughters in the group. Reproduction performance was examined in these groups. The milk performance was evaluated based on 305 days usage, lactation curve persistence index and the lactation curve course in individual groups. The herd-group C2 with highest genetic base of diary breed proved the best results in all lactation groups with regards to reproductive performance. The best results were reached on 3rd lactation. The link between genetic base and reproduction performance of Czech pied cattle was not proved. Neither the link between genetic base and milk performance was proved. The influence of lactation number on most of examined factors was proved. The father{\crq}s influence on reproduction or milk performance was not clearly proved. However, the results may be distorted for lack of diary cows in groups examined under this criterion. Finally, the direct link between reproductive and milk performance was also not clearly proved. To summarize our results, we can state that the diary cows in examined herd were above the milk performance average of Czech pied cattle bred in Czech Republic. At the same time, the reproduction performance was just on average of Czech Republic.

Safety and health protection at work
Salajka, Radek ; Tröster, Petr (advisor) ; Hůrka, Petr (referee)
Resumé A person could say that from one angle the whole situation of occupational safety and health leads to a collision of two different interests of two different subjects. The main subjects are employers on one side and employees and society as a whole on the other side. Speaking of interests, there is an interest of making the biggest possible earnings and maximalization of profit, but on the other side there is an interest of maximalization of safety of the employees as a very expensive part of the business but a necessary matter of humanism and law. The solution lays on a compromise, a situation, where there is a guarantee of good safety for a reasonable price. We have to see the state as the resolver of this situation because state is laying between these two subjects and their interests and we cannot place it on the side of emloyees or employers. On the other hand state can have a big influence on the whole situation due to its statutory instruments such as legal acts and other directives. State, however, also has to resolve some opposing views inside itself. These are the maximalization of profit of companies and thus high tax income versus its target seen in the lowest possible outcome due to old-age pension and social insurance paid to employees together with the highest possible age reached by...

HAVRDOVÁ, Markéta
My work deals with the history of recent explotation of handicrafts in the relationship to a countryside and freetime activities. When describing the history of handicrafts and the life in a countryside, I supported my work with information I got from a specific literature. The interviews with the autochthons are used to testify the information about villages in the firsth half of the 20th century, when the handicafts performed an important task in an everyday life. I dedicated most of my attention to basket-making for which there are some more particular information about the history, materials and techniques used when making baskets. In a part of my work, dedicated to the recent use of handicrafts as freetime activities, I speak from my own experience with organising a craftmaking worshops in Čestín. My work reflects a view of one, to whom the traditional handicrafts offer a good way of artistic self-realisation, that helps improving creativity, patience and satisfies one?s intelectual interest about history and tradition, as a counterpart to our modern world.

The Czech Republic before ICSID
Šlehoferová, Vanda ; Trávníčková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kochan, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the legal investment disputes settled within the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, where one party of a dispute was the Czech Republic or a Czech national. The thesis has three main chapters. The first is theoretical, and describes the structure, function and jurisdiction of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. The next two chapters focus on specific 'Czech' cases, which were settled before the Centre. The first dispute was between the Czechoslovak Trade Bank and the Slovak Republic and the second was between the Israeli company Phoenix Action Ltd. and the Czech Republic. Both cases are very interesting, not only legally but also factually. Benefits for future decision-making practice is considerable. In the first case, it is an even greater extension of the term 'investment' by broad interpretation of the arbitral tribunal, the second emphasises the principles of non-retroactivity and good faith as other aspects of international investment interpretation.
