Salome in the art of symbolism and decadence and her representation in czech fine arts at the begining of the 20th century
Johanidesová, Tereza ; Wittlich, Petr (advisor) ; Prahl, Roman (referee)
The theme of this dissertation is a representation of biblical figure of Jewish princess Salome in fine arts. The author of this dissertation focuses mainly attention on the turn of the 19th and 20th century, when the theme of Salome became the fundamental motif of the Symbolist and Decadence art. In this time Salome started to appear very frequently in the world of literature, painting, sculpture and graphic art as well and she epitomized nearly the icon and the idol for the artists of this period. But in fact Salome as one of the figures acting in the New Testament narrative about the death of John the Baptist was a biblical subject with rich iconographic tradition developing systematically already from the Early Christian art. It is for this reason that the part of this dissertation comprises also the brief analysis of the narrative and the outline of his iconography in the sphere of fine arts. The chapters devoted to the genearal characterization of Symbolism and Decadence serve as an introduction into this complicated age, when the reconsideration of previous values in the sphere of fine arts, science, politics and society projects into the visual representations too. With regard to interconnection of literature and fine arts at the turn of the 19th century, the attention is also payed to the most...

Možnosti využití metody objektově orientovaného programovaní v organizační architektuře podniků
Martinez, Felipe ; Malý, Milan (advisor) ; Fotr, Jiří (referee) ; Kubátová, Jaroslava (referee)
The procedures to establish organisational structure are the focal subject of this study. The review of literature and research components of this dissertation identify that there is lack of procedures, processes, and working guidelines to facilitate this managerial task. The creation of any of these procedures is inherently complex as is the intended organisational structure to create. Organisational theories present several models. They identify and discuss primary organisational elements but fail to propose adequate methods for structuration. The doctoral candidate confronts this void to both practitioners and academicians by means of two approaches. Firstly, it proposes a procedure to institute organisational structure founded on the Object-Oriented paradigm. Secondly, it compares and contrasts this procedure with existing processes deployed by managers, entrepreneurs, and expert-consultants. The presentation of this procedure includes a fundamental analogy for its creation; the paradigm selection and explanation (Object-Oriented); a detailled 'step by step' guide for successful implementation and concrete applications of the procedure. The review in this area is extensive and promotes analyses that are both practical as well as theoretical. This assessment promotes and develops a research based on organisational structuring experiences. It uses quantitative and qualitative tools to collect the data. The data are discrete. Various techniques are employed to illustrate findings. Bar graphs with distributions curves represent the data. The graphical and statistical analyses argue the existence of a general procedure to set up the organisational structure. In addition, the research compares the general and proposed procedures. It uses descriptive and graphical tools for the comparison. The findings corroborate the proposed procedure as a valid method to implement organisational structure. The resulting hypotheses derived from the research problem and formulated research questions are validated. This unlocks the opportunity to formally use the procedure as appropriate guidelines for structuring. It equally demonstrates the use of paradigms borrowed from other disciplines within organisational design. Additionally, the procedural knowledge is formally transferable through university course material and lectures. The benefit of the dissertation is the inclusion of the Object-Oriented paradigm within the discipline of organisational design. In doing so, it eliminates the void in this domain and offers both academicians and managers further areas of research.

Determinants of housing prices in Central and Eastern Europe
Jelínek, Jan ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Jakubík, Petr (referee)
Determinants of Housing Prices in Central and Eastern Europe Abstract House price developments have a large impact on the macroeconomic stability, an example of which is the recent global crisis, partially triggered by a house price boom and bust. This work attempts to explain the behavior of house prices in ten Central- and Eastern- European countries over the last decade using three main methods: graphical comparison of the characteristics of the housing markets, panel data analysis, and time series anal- ysis. First, a cross-country comparison shows that owner occupation rate or migration indeed play a role while other factors apparently do not. Second, the results of using the Pooled Mean Group estimator on a panel of all countries confirm that real income and unemployment are in general significant determinants of house prices. In the third part of the empirical analysis, VAR or VEC models are used on several individual countries to evaluate the role of national capitals as price leaders for the rest of the country. These models are finally employed again to test for significance of other fundamentals in several countries. The diversity of results leads to the conclusion that house price determinants differ widely across the analyzed countries, although this may be partially attributable to the unavoidable...

Visualization as one of the factors that sell the products and services
Baumrt, Tomáš ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Krsek, Libor (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a subject of taking advantage of visualization during the process of product presentation. Its main aim is to find out, if visual presentation (design) of the product cover affects consumer's behaviour during the decision process of buying a particular product. If this influence is proven, a second goal is set up, namely detection of effects of chosen factors of visual presentation on consumer's decision process. Diploma thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The first introduces the topic to the reader and familiarize him with the goals and structure. Second chapter theoretically describes fundamental terms of communication, especially visual communication. The third chapter covers issues concerning the product itself and its advertisement. This chapter brings to the end theoretical part, which gathers information partly from professional literature and partly from authors' knowledge and experiences. Practical part forms the main element of the thesis. Fourth part consists of various methods for analyzing previously questioned problems in detail. Sample questionnaire examining consumer's preference is drawn up as well as graphical proposals of product design. Chapter ends up with a summary of results found out during the query survey. Results are interpreted in details in the fifth chapter, together with an attempt to draw general conclusion. Last chapter summarizes gathered information and evidence. Contribution of this work is not only to emphasize the significance of product cover and its effect on sale. Corporations or more precisely their marketing departments should realize this fact while creating marketing plan and especially advertisement plan. They should pay more attention on appearance of the product cover. Benefit further consists in processing the whole topic, with neither theoretical nor practical literature is concerned, although proven that opposite should count. Thesis tries to show the direction of further investigation, possibly followed by more complex and extensive surveys, which should bring valuable results and could be used not only by firms but also by consumers themselves.
