Wide Area Application Services
Šlambor, Jan ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Závodný, Martin (referee)
This thesis is trying to appraise benefits of implementation Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) in the organization. It's a relatively new technology, which seeks to answer the question, how to maintain control over the ever-increasing volume of traffic. This constant increase is mainly due to the use of new applications and business processes. WAAS should transparently improve throughput, speed and ease of use of all applications in the organization. The question is if this technology can reduce costs, improve productivity, simplify data protection, or what manner it is compatible with the corporate infrastructure. If is really consolidating and pooling application infrastructure for remote branch back into the data center best current solution, which facilitates access to remote users, in same way to which they are accustomed from the Local Area Network (LAN). The next one sections of this work will be summarized findings on the principle of Cisco WAAS. How the technology works. What is main optimizing method and how is currently use in the organization. It's weaknesses and strengths against the largest suppliers of similar WAN optimization solutions. The next one section will carry out an analysis, which showed us results to determine which applications are suitable for optimization technology and statements for the policy, which will be applied to the applications. This raises so many questions to be answered. The outcome of this work will be whether this technology is really what the organization needs, and whether this technology is applicable to all or only for certain types of applications or application protocols.

Křenová, Pavla ; Felgrová, Ivana (advisor) ; Suchý, Jiří (referee)
Název práce: Porovnávání objemových parametrů v plaveckém tréninku Comparison of volume parameters in swimming training process Cíle práce: Hlavním cílem studie je snaha zjistit, jak se mění hodnoty jednotlivých složek objemových parametrů v ročních tréninkových cyklech po dobu devíti let. Metoda: K hodnocení tréninkového procesu a výkonnosti plavkyň bylo využito především tréninkových deníků a údaje v nich zaznamenaných společně s osobní výpovědí plavkyň. Vlastní posouzení bylo realizováno metodou statického zpracování, tabulkovou analýzou, grafickým znázorněním a vlastním posouzením. Výsledky: Pomocí porovnání hodnot uváděných v jednotlivých tréninkových denících úspěšných českých plavkyň a také porovnáním tréninkových deníků konkrétní plavkyně v průběhu jejího vývoje (plavecké kariéry) budeme schopni individuálně objektivizovat variabilní objemové parametry. Klíčová slova: plavecký trénink, objemové složky tréninku, kariéra plavce

Formant field characteristics of low vowels in standard British English
Syslová, Jana ; Skarnitzl, Radek (referee) ; Volín, Jan (advisor)
Standard British English vowels have always drawn ample attention among phoneticians. It is certainly due to the fact that Standard British English served as a referential variety not only for educational purposes. However, few of the studies analysed data drawn from natural connected speech. Mostly artificial conditions created for measuring the acoustic properties of vowel formant frequencies resulted in vowels relatively neatly separated, whereas studies of connected speech usually reveal considerable overlaps between the regions of vowels in the vowel space. Earlier studies have reported on the effects of different immediate environment on vowels, yet these also derive from controlled speech recorded in laboratory conditions. Data collected in this manner are further used to describe vowel changes over certain time periods and they also serve in research of vowel perception. In comparison to that, the aim of the present study was to analyse the formant field characteristics of Standard British English vowels in a representative sample of connected speech. The study is confined only to the low vowel region of Standard British English mainly because of the extent of analysis that would have to be conducted if all the vowels were included. Besides that, the region of the English low vowels has a special...
