Branchiobdellidan population on alien species of crayfish in the Czech Republic
LOŽEK, Filip
The thesis summarizes the current knowledge about the class Branchiobdellae including their anatomy, ecology and geographic distribution with respect to the presence of introduced species in Europe. Using samples of Branchiobdellidan obtained from two introduced species of crayfish caught in a pond near Čáslavice u Moravských Budějovic (signal crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus) and in Černíský stream (eastern crayfish, Orconectes limosus), two out of seven European species of Branchiobdellidan were identified, namely B. parasita with 100% presence in the eastern crayfish and 58.7% presence in the signal crayfish, and B. pentodonta with 41.3% presence. Based on data collected from the caught crayfish and samples of Branchiobdellidan, the individual weight of eastern crayfish was proved to influence the quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan on the body of crayfish (p<0.001), i.e. increased quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan was found on more robust specimens of crayfish, however the effect of gender was not statistically significant. With respect to the signal crayfish, a significant difference was observed in the quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan depending on the weight of the crayfish (p<0.001), and the influence of the gender of the crayfish was detected (p<0.001), i.e. the quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan was higher on the surface of male specimens of crayfish. The presence of eggs in some female signal crayfish had no significant effect on the quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan (p=0.052), however in combination with the weight, the influence of the presence or absence of eggs was proved (p=0.011), more robust females showed increased quantity and biomass of Branchiobdellidan.

Magic fairytale and its metamorphoses in works of 17th to 19th century
Šestáková, Adéla ; Sochorová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (referee)
Abstact This bachelor thesis focuses on examining the development of fairytales with an emphasis on literary adaptations of magic fairytales of the 17th to the 19th century. It consists of theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter discusses the basic characteristics of fairytales, its definition, features, classification. Furthermore, the work deals with theories about the origin of folktales and ways of their analysis from a scientific point of view. At the end of the this part fairytales are analysed as a literary genre. The second part represents writers Charles Perrault, Brothers Grimm, Karel Jaromír Erben Božena Němcová. Each of these authors approaches to their fairytale works in a different way, which is described in this section. In chapters of each writer, we first learn about their biography, as well as the time in which they lived, along with its historical and social background and last but not least, with their literary production with an emphasis on fairytale work. The last chapter contains a practical part of thesis. There is comparison of two magic fairytales, that appear in the works of authors from the second chapter. First we meet with a history and short plot of the tales, followed by analysis of their characters and differences in the various versions, and ultimately the story...

The issues of vaccination against influenza in the elderly
VÁVROVÁ, Marie
This bachelor thesis deals with influenza vaccination for the elderly, their awareness of the flu, its severity, complications and risks. Influenza is among the most frequent infection in the Czech Republic. Many people confuse the common cold and upper respiratory tract infections, which usually have mild symptoms, with flu, which can cause very serious, even fatal complications. Risk groups include mainly people above 65 years old and it is this group of people my thesis and research concentrate on. The thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical respectfully. The theoretical part consists primarily with familiarisation with major flu pandemics and continues with chapters that deal with essential characteristics of the influenza virus, a description of the flu and flu complications in the elderly. I concern myself in the research part with finding out how much older persons know about the disease, if it is perceived as a serious illness or not, if they are aware of the risks and complications the disease can cause them at their age. The paper sets out three objectives. My first goal is to find out how much the seniors are informed about the severity of influenza disease, next goal is to map vaccination rates of the elderly against influenza in the Český Krumlov region and the third objective is to determine whether there are differences in immunization rates between homes for the elderly and elderly people living independently. Quantitative research method using an anonymous questionnaire was used to obtain the data. 100 questionnaires completed by respondents above the age of 50 from the Český Krumlov region were used for processing. I predicted two hypotheses in the context of the objectives of my thesis which were subsequently disproved. My first hypothesis was: Most seniors considered the influenza disease as serious. I was not able to confirm this hypothesis. Only about a half of the respondents consider influenza as serious. This ratio is not dependent on age, place of residence or level of educational, however significantly depends on gender. The ratio of men who consider influenza as a serious illness is significantly lower when compared with women. Second hypothesis: the vaccination coverage in homes for the elderly is higher than among elderly people living independently. I was unable to confirm this hypothesis either. Information about the vaccine and its cost mostly come from the attending physician, the press and media. Mapping immunization coverage showed that only 23 of 100 respondents (23%) were vaccinated against influenza. The proposed objectives based on the obtained data have been met. The bachelor thesis may serve specialists as a source of information in the future. The concluded data and information can be mediated to the elderly either by general practicioners or in nursing homes. The results and information about the severity of influenza illness covered in this thesis can also serve as a source of information about this issue to the general public.

From the Czechoslovak National Bank to the Czechoslovak State Bank (1945-1958)
Mrkvičková, Ivana ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
This thesis describes the post-war development of the Czechoslovak National Bank from 1945 to 1958, when it became a monobank. In the first part of the paper a study is provided on the state of the banking sector and the whole economy after the Second World War. Following is an analysis of impact of gradual translation from mixed economy to centralized model of sovietised economy on the Central bank of Czechoslovakia and later on the Czechoslovak State Bank. Firstly, the commercial banks were nationalized in compliance with decrees of President Edvard Beneš. The National bank was transferred into state ownership as well in 1948, concluding the banking concentration process. Two years later, Czechoslovak state bank emerged and took over the obligations of the now-defunct Central bank as well as of the remaining commercial banks. Competences of the State bank further expanded until year 1958, when it incorporated agenda of the Investment bank, began offering long-term loans and finally became a monobank.

Utilzation of physico-chemical analyses in study on microbial stress-response
Slaninová, Eva ; Pekař, Miloslav (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the utilization of physico-chemical analysis in study on microbial stress–response. The main content of this work was to propose and optimize techniques and methods which are generally used in different industries. Two bacterial strains, Cupriavidus necator H16 and its mutant strain Cupriavidus necator PHB-4 producing polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) under certain conditions, were used as model microorganisms. Initially, microscopic teques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cryo scanning electron microscopy (cryo SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were proposed and tested for the characteriozation of morphological differences of bacteria. Furthermore, viscoelastic properties of bacteria were determined and compared by the oscillatory tests of the rheology method considering another type of samples. Thermal analysis methods, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in particular, focused on water transport and behavior of intracellular water influenced by presence of the granules of PHB in bacteria. The last technique, utilized in the study, was dynamic and electrophoretic light dispersion during pH changes for characterization of the surface properties of bacteria such as size, zeta potential and the isoelectric point.

Economic Consequences of Mandatory Energy Performance Certificate Processing for Public Sector
Tintěra, Tomáš ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Maule, Petr (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the impact assessment of introduction of the requirement for processing energy performance certificate (PENB) for buildings in possession of public sector. It inspects in detail Czech as well as European legislative connected with energy efficiency, and it examines the differences in approaches to its implementation between EU member states, and its consequences. Moreover, thesis inspects the impact assessment process of EU legislation. Main part of thesis consists of an evaluation of approach of Czech public sector to fulfilling given obligations. From inspection of sample of municipalities, it shows that the targets set by legislative are not being met. At last, thesis analyzes data on public contracts which indicate that there is no such methodology which would inform the state itself about the real energy performance certification impacts on national economy.

Impact of inclusive environment for pupils attitudes towards persons with disability
Zilcher, Ladislav
This dissertation is conceived as a theoretical - empirical study, which is focused on modifications in attitudes of fourth and fifth grade pupils towards people with disabilities. The research is based on three possible influences for attitudes, (1) the effect of classmate with disability on pupils' attitudes towards people with disability, (2) teacher's approach to the issue, their inclusive teaching competences and the effect on pupils' attitudes and (3) if school and its inclusive setting (which is represented by schools with "Fair school" certificate) has any influence on pupils' attitudes towards persons with disabilities. We try to explain one elemental empirical question by dealing with these three particular research issues. Does inclusive environment have positive influence on fourth and fifth grade pupils towards people with disabilities? We decided to choose a quasiexperimental design of this study to answer this question. Two validated empirical instruments were used in the research, they were administrated on a sample that consists of 1948 pupils from fourth and fifth grades and (their) 102 teachers. The acquired data were processed by appropriate statistical methods. Our outcomes partly confirmed the assumption that inclusive environment may have an impact on pupils' attitude towards...

The central bank and its function in the economy
Guth, Karel ; Kopecká, Lenka (advisor) ; Soukup, Alexandr (referee)
The following thesis describes the importance of the central bank in the states economy and its position in the structure of the banking and financial system. It deals with its monetary policy and functions such as the role of the state bank, issuance activity or the regulation and supervision of commercial banks. The theoretical part is concluded by describing the Maastricht convergence criteria, which is built on in a questionnaire survey of the practical part. The practical part is divided into two sections. The first is focused on the exchange rate as a monetary tool of the Czech National Bank. It attempts to compare how successfully CNB has achieved its predictions from 2014 (the year when the foreign exchange interventions were initiated). The second section contains an interpretation of the results from the survey, with the aim of identifying the attitudes of Czech citizens towards adopting the euro currency. Subsequently, testing of a statistical hypothesis for contingency between selected issues was performed and connections within the columnar frequency of the contingency tables were observed and picked out.
