Hay, Ivana ; Okrouhlíková, Lenka (referee) ; Macurová, Alena (advisor)
The thesis for my Bachelor degree focuses on the use of Czech Sign Language to signify place-names of cities. The aims of this thesis are a) to set up the classification of the urbonyms (city place-names) in Czech Sign Language, b) to question on the motivation of single signs as used by the Deaf habitants of Prague c) to outline the basic knowledge about the generational diversity of the gained material and finaIly, d) to discuss social and cultural aspects of the use of place-names by the local Deaf community. In my thesis, I am also dealing with the urbonyms as featured in the present Czech Sign Language vocabularies. Several sign language dictionaries issued from different countries are also consulted a10ng with those specialising on the sign vocabulary of urbonyms. The research material was obtained by the elicitation method with 19 Deaf respondents living in Prague and the interviews were recorded by the camcorder. The recordings contain the urbonyms of selected main Czech Republic cities a10ng with European capita1 cities. The resultant CD-ROM contains signs of the main Czech Republic cities and European capitals in Czech Sign Language as produced by Czech Deaf people. In addition, the CD-ROM shows examples of the European capita1s as signed by foreign deaf respondents, especia11y from those who are...

Řízení likvidity v nadnárodních společnostech
Kostihová, Kristýna ; Vávrová, Hana (advisor) ; Kopalová, Helena (referee)
My bachelor thesis includes information about three international corporations, Danone a.s., UNILEVER ČR, s.r.o., and Nestlé Česko s.r.o. All these corporations have specific liquidity and Net Working Capital control which does not respond with the basic management standards. All theese companies are daughter companies of big international corporations and they represent the parent companies in the Czech Republic. In my thesis I am giving analysis of the liquidity, NWC, insolvency, profitability, etc. I am trying to explain the unique way of the liquidity control by comparing the companies with each other and with stated standards.

Specifics of Addiction Treatment of Children and Adolescents
STIFTEROVÁ, Barbora
This Bachelor?s Thesis shall point out the problem of children and teen drug addiction, specifically the way of treatment of this specific group. The topic of addictive drugs among youth is an acute problem of our current society. Statistics show that the trend of drug abuse is the most significant during adolescence. Statistics further refer to an increasing number of legal as well as illegal drug users. Alarming is the fact that drug addiction infiltrates to lower and lower age groups and it is not the problem of just adults or teens any more but also children. In the theoretical part I covered specifics of drug addiction, drug effects, their distribution and risks in relation to children and teens. Further I attended to the system of drug user treatment and in conclusion I dealt with specific methods and approaches when working with underage drug addicts. In the empirical part I aimed to define the treatment specifics of psychoactive drug dependence of children and teens. I specifically dealt with their treatment motivation, further with the methods and important aspects when working with this specific group and also the question of replacement therapy indication. I chose a qualitative research with the semi-structured interview to be the method of data collection. The research file was selected on the basis of a quota sampling, when the quota is a specialist in a rehabilitative medical facility for children and teens, the region of the capital city of Prague and a position (psychologist, therapist, social worker, doctor). In total 10 respondents took part in my research. In the discussion I compared the own research results to the theory and other studies dealing with the same issue. In conclusion of my thesis I defined three hypotheses. After an assessment of my research and deepening the knowledge of the appropriate topic I think that it is necessary to focus more on this specific group and to pay more attention to it than it has been so far.

Critical reactions on Edward Bullough's concept of psychical distance
Adámková, Veronika ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Dadejík, Ondřej (referee)
In this thesis we are focusing at the notion of psychical distance first introduced in the work "'Psychical Distance' as a Factor in Art and as an Aesthetic Principle" from Edward Bullough. There were many responses to the concept of psychical distance from many authors, some of them have rejected this notion, and others tried to support it. Initially we provided brief interpretation of Bulough's work with the focus at parts, which are cited and investigated most frequently in mentioned interpretations. We are interpreting and comparing gradually the most popular works, which involve the notion of psychical distance with respect to Bullough's original concept. We are pointing out the difference between notions psychical distance and aesthetic attitude, because they are mistaken one for another by many different authors. This thesis tries to provide new look at some papers responding to Bullough's conception.

Theoretical predictions of the impact of a noisy channel on interpreters' performance in simultaneous interpretation and their empirical verification
Volenová, Eva ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Ďoubalová, Jana (referee)
This thesis explores the issue of noise in the simultaneous interpreting process, using the concept of noise as defined in information theory and the model of communication developed by Claude Shannon. The theoretical section of this thesis first offers a brief explanation of the basic concepts involved in information theory, followed by a description of Shannon's model. Selected models of interpreting are then introduced based on this model of communication. A list of potential types of noise is then presented based on the literature examined that may have an impact on the interpreter during simultaneous interpreting. The empirical section of this thesis consists of a questionnaire and an experiment. The questionnaire determines to what extent interpreters find the potential types of noise from the list created in the theoretical section disruptive in their work. The list of types of noise is also expanded based on respondents' answers. The questionnaire also determines what strategies respondents employ to overcome adverse factors. The new types of noise and strategies employed are described in this thesis using open-ended answers from the respondents. The experiment tests the impact of a burst-noise channel on simultaneous interpreting. A total of 13 respondents took part in the experiment,...

Risk management with respect on Basel II and Basel III
Kutová, Nikola ; Křížek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kolman, Marek (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to evaluate the risk management system of Czech banks according to the Basel II rules. In my thesis I also deal with the ability of the Czech banking system to accept new Basel III rules. The first part of my thesis focuses on definition of risks and methods of risk management according to Basel rules. They discuss diferent risks that they fall within activity to the rules on the capital adequacy of the bank. The second part of thesis focuses on characteristics of Basel II and III and how the rules are implemented to the law of the EU and then to the law of Czech Republic. Part of the second part is also shortages of Basel II. On this shortage, Basel Committee on banking supervision responded to introduce new accord Basel III. In the final part, both of part is connected on the samples of three banks. After analysis, the thesis rates readiness Czech banks on the new capital accord and new risk management. The thesis summarizes readiness of the Czech banking system on the Basel III rules.

Model V1 s realistickou distribucí funkčních typů neuronů v rámci kortikálních vrstev
Moudřík, Josef ; Sýkora, Ondřej (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
There have been identified two functionally different neuron classes in the primary visual cortex (V1), so-called simple and complex cells. These cells differ in reactions to various stimuli and their development has been successfully simulated in one computational model of V1. This model, however, simulates both classes in separate layers corresponding to layers 4C and 2/3 in V1. On the contrary, experiments have shown that both categories are - in different proportions - present in both layers. In this thesis, a computational model with a realistic distribution of complex and simple cells is presented. To increase its authenticity, I incorporate long-range excitatory and short-range inhibitory lateral cortical connections as found in animals, overcoming one drawback of previous models that used long-range inhibition. To assess my model, two measures of orientation selectivity - circular variance and orientation bandwidth - were computed for each simulated neuron. Using this measures, I compared my model with data from macaque monkey. In line with biological findings, my model develops a wide diversity of orientation selectivity. Moreover, it develops maps of orientation preference and realistic receptive fields.

Analysis of the causes of school suspension in the regional investigation context
Vojtušová, Radmila ; Valentová, Lidmila (advisor) ; Vyšínová, Pavlína (referee)
The purpose of this thesis was to identify the most common causes of school suspension within a regional survey in comparison with the views of parents, elementary and kindergarten teachers. In connection with this theme the author dealt with pre-school child characteristics focusing on school maturity diagnosis and school suspension problematics. The main reasearch was realised i Pedagogical-psychological advice centre in Kladno in 3 selected years ranging from 1999 to 2010. The method of analysis has been used to collect the data. A survey in a form of an anonymous questionnaire clearified opinions of selected respondents. On the basis of this observation a casuistry of a school suspended child with specific needs has been made. This casuistry demonstrates further development of a child after starting it's school attendence. Submitted results of the thesis confirmed the opinions of experts in this field as well as conclusions of researches focusing on school suspension issues. It has been found out, that the most common causes of school suspension in the examined lokality are the issues of speech, visual and hearing perception, graphmotorics and school work maturity. This finding was identical with the views of respondents of the survey. The respondents marked psychological area of school...

Audiovisual work as a training program for our mind
Gojdičová, Alexandra ; Mišíková, Katarína (advisor) ; DORUŠKA, Tomáš (referee)
The basis of our work is an idea, that audio-visual art is a training program for our mind, which supports its self-perfection and extension. This necessity of our mind to benefit from the stimuli is in this way reflected in both form and content of audiovisual works and also determines their forms. If we want to understand the cognition of audiovisual perception, we have to understand its origins as well. Our guide in this process will be a tow-year old child and its first touches with moving pictures.
