The Spaniel family in Jaroměř during the First World War

This bachelor work is about the study of everyday life in the Czech lands during the first world war. The work is centred on East Bohemian town Jaroměř and it analyse the war effects on population living in the Czech lands. The study is based on memories of jaroměř citizen Marie Španielová and chronicle of Václav Pácalt, jaroměř politician and artist. The main interests is concentrated on economy, general mobilization, temporary stay of prisoners of war, supply difficulties and general lack of basic commodities. AbstractAbstractAbstractAbstract In my bachelor thesis "Events after 21 August 1968 in Havlíčkův Brod" I deal with occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968. Especially I focused on regional history of small town in Bohemian - Moravian highlands. My text based on interpretation of events in town Havlíčkův Brod from the 21st August 1968 to the end of the same year. This part my bachelor thesis starts from my study in czech archives and from conversations with about ten eyewitnesses. I work with specialized literature, contemporary press and issued memories too. In content my text I talk about some regional specifics, for example situation in Polish people army, which occupy discribing area or situation among czechoslovakian soldiers in Havlíčkův Brod. In not final point I refer to some characters in connections with describing town, for example Oldřich Švestka, Miroslav Polreich or Gertruda Sekaninová - Čakrtová. Dušan Foltýn ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis reviews the history of the borough Byšice in the last two centuries and attempts to assess the importance of the various epochs in the development of the community. The main body of the thesis examines its own history of the borough, the side lines represent the cultural history and the history of the village school in Byšice. All events are processed gradually in a chronological order. The role of various social groups in the history of the town is being examined, as well as the conversion of the urban village in the city. Keywords: Regional history, project methods, baroque and baroque culture Abstract: The thesis deals primarily with the baroque era of Lysá nad Labem regional history and its application in the educational project at the secondary level of a primary school. The first part of the Diploma thesis contains a short overview of regional literature concerning Lysá as well as pedagogic literature suitable for project training. There is an overall characteristic of the Baroque era in the Czech lands with the focus on how it was expressed in art, religion and thinking of people back then and how it influenced the landscape formation. The emphasis is placed on the Baroque era of Lysá nad Labem. Its history is being described along with the history of the most influential family in the area the Sporcks. All of the baroque monuments in the town and its surroundings are described in order for the theoretical part to be complete and with respect to their possible application in the project training. Czechs and Germans in the Polička's Region in the 20th Century: Regional Probe Into Czech-German Coexistence in the Ethnically Mixed District of Polička

Using a method of regional probing, the diploma work seeks to map the evolution of relations between the Czech majority and the German minority that resided in the former political district of Policka. The analysis concentrates on the period of 1897-1946, with a concentration focusing on the culture of "remembering" and the ways in which both ethnic groups came to divergent interpretations of their mutually-shared history. The author strives to identify the factors that influneced the actions and positions of the local populace during the key political events of 1918, 1938 and 1945. He concentrates not only on the everday interactions between both ethnic groups, but also on the conditions that both groups found themelves in during the so-called "National Confrontation."
In the shadow of the Lily. Scouting in Karlovy Vary between 1968 and 1989

The work is focused on the recent regional history of Karlovy Vary. Trying to briefly imitate life of the Scout group between 1968 - 1989. Based on interview made with the narrators it isndescribing the activities that were the Scout section devoted. It charts the parth of an individual from the first contact with Scouting from its acceptance to life itself in the section. This work is also trying to capture the changes that took place within varios sections during the transition from formal to illegality. It Illustrates one of the possible method in which the officiallybanned organization adjusted to the normalization age.
Museum societies in central-eastern Bohemia and their fates in the 19th and 20th century

This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of regional museums in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century in the area of central-eastern Bohemia. The thesis is divided into three main chapters, first of which offers the overview of the establishment and development of the regional museums. The following one analyses the laws of association and statutes of the particular societies. The last chapter introduces the most important milestones in the history of four museum societies which are: Museum society of Chrudim, Museum of Hlinsko County, Archaeological society Vocel and Archaeological and museum society Včela Čáslavská. Based on the primary sources analysis and comparative method, the author of the thesis tried to focus on the common and different moments in the history and activities of the museum societies mentioned above. The Use of Regional History of Vltavotynsko in History Lessons. Workbook with Regional Historical Topics

The diploma thesis The Use of Regional History of Vltavotynsko in History Lessons. Workbook with Regional Historical Topics is a contribution to the methodology of history lessons. It defends the importance of regional and environmental education as well as education for relationship to cultural-historical heritage in lessons of history, especially at upper primary schools. The mentioned aspects of history education are observed in particular chosen educational documents, which determined the form of education in the 1990s and then also the final product of this reform - the Framework Educational Programmefor primary education. The main output of the thesis is a textbook about the regional history of Vltavotynsko called People from the River, which reflects the learned knowledge. The textbook does not only contain exercises typical for a workbook, but it also includes other texts and visual materials which present the basic historical development in the micro-region to pupils in an attractive way and they are a valuable contribution to pupil's environmental education, too.
The region without history? Regional history of Uhlířské Janovice in education at elementary school

The thesis is about the issue of inclusion regional history into teaching at the second grade of elementary school. It is focused on didactic value of regional history and geography of local region, needs of cooperation between school and local community and possibility of cooperation between history and geography in studying regional topics. Example of studying regional history is shown at the area of Uhlířské Janovice. There is a closer look at this region from historical and geographical point of view. The thesis includes the list of literature and other sources which may be used to get more information about this region. It also contains results of empirical investigation, which discover the degree of regional identity of population of Uhlířské Janovice area. The final part of the thesis suggests methodological materials focused on teaching regional topics, which are based on facts of Uhlířské Janovice area.
The concept of regional history in history teaching in secondary schools in the town of Pribram

The diploma work is focused on the conception of regional history teaching in the city of Příbram. It brings an up-to-date view on regional history seen through didactis and tries to show contemporary condition in the regional historical research. The whole work is divided into three big parts. The first one is aimed on the term region, on its meaning and understanding. Further it maps significant regional historians and researchers, it briefly draws near their work and makes us familiar with important personalities of Příbram regional research. It also deals with the history of the town Příbram and its closest surroundings. Data obtained from an empirical research, which was taken at seven high schools in Příbram where history as a subject is taught in final exams branches classes, are elaborated in the second part of the work. The found out facts about the state of regional history in history teaching are then compared with the former aims and hypothesis. The third part is focused on certain methodical possibilities of taking advantage of regional history in history teaching at high schools. Two proposals for project teaching methods which might be used in lectures by the teachers are presented.
