Title: Fluid-structure interaction of compressible flow Author: RNDr. Jaroslava Hasnedlová Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics, Institute of Applied Mathematics Supervisors: Prof. RNDr. Miloslav Feistauer, DrSc., Dr. h. c., Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Rolf Rannacher Supervisors' e-mail addresses: feist@karlin.mff.cuni.cz, rannacher@iwr.uni-heidelberg.de Abstract: The presented work is split into two parts. The first part is devoted to the theory of the discontinuous Galerkin finite element (DGFE) method for the space-time discretization of a nonstationary convection-diffusion initial-boundary value problem with nonlinear convection and linear diffusion. The DGFE method is applied sep- arately in space and time using, in general, different space grids on different time levels and different polynomial degrees p and q in space and time discretization. The main result is the proof of error estimates in L2 (L2 )-norm and in DG-norm formed by the L2 (H1 )-seminorm and penalty terms. The second part of the thesis deals with the realization of fluid-structure interaction problem of the compressible viscous flow with the elastic structure. The time-dependence of the domain occupied by the fluid is treated by the ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) method, when the compress- ible Navier-Stokes equations are formulated in...

Kvalitativní vlastnosti řešení rovnic popisujících časově proměnná proudění nestlačitelných chemicky reagujících tekutin
Vácha, Karel ; Málek, Josef (advisor) ; Kaplický, Petr (referee)
We study properties of solutions of generalized Navier-Stokes equations describing unsteady flows of an incompressible fluid with impurity, whereas the viscosity of the fluid depends on concentration of the impurity. We assume that the viscosity is function of the concentration, which is bounded and Lipschitz continuous. In two dimensional case we prove that the second spatial derivatives of the velocity and concentration belong to the space L2(L2) and rst spatial derivatives are in L1(L2). As the application of this global regularity result we prove uniqueness of the regular solution within the class of weak solutions.

Necrogeographical Research of Czechia: Basic Character and Spatial Differentiation of Necrogeographical Aspects in Czechia with Emphasis on their Relation to Religion
Hupková, Martina
Martina Hupková - Nekrogeografický výzkum Česka ABSTRACT: Diploma thesis is concerned with theme of death, which has been left out by Czech geography till now. There is a tendency to make theme of death taboo in Czech society, nevertheless a manner of treatment with death is a sign of cultural maturity and is changing in space and time. Necrogeographical aspects - a manner of treatment with death and forms of cemeteries reflect a culture in different regional divisions (state, region, locality). Thesis is engaged in discussion about possibilities of necrogeographical research in Czechia and the investigative part of thesis is engaged in necrogeographical analysis. Interfacial areas between religion and a way of burying are searched for in thesis because of presumed influence of religion on a manner of treatment with death. Dependence of a way of burying on religion is evaluated on level of world's nations and micro-regions of Czechia. Spatial differentiation of necrogeographical aspects within Czechia is analyzed via field surveys of model regions. Cemeteries are considered from two points of view - as objects in space and as a culture reflecting phenomenons. Presented thesis attempts to contribute by geographical work to not so expanded study of death. KEY WORDS: necrogeography, cemetery, religion,...

Variabilita respiračních parametrů jako důsledek polohové segmentální diferenciace 2010 SUMMARY Work title: Variability of respiratory parameters as a consequence of postural segmental differentiation Aim of the thesis: To detect changes in breathing parameters depending on the position of body segments. Study is focusing on sitting and standing position, a research metodology a their measurements. The first part is focused on literature base of the thesis. In the second, special section, is making a research, where we panned respiratory parameters in the sitting and standing position. The aim is to compare the measured values between these 2 positions and make a conclusion. Methods: - Spirometry - Qualisys technology Results: Changes in respiratory parameters between sitting and standing were individual. Objectively, we found that in standing position against the sitting position increased on avarage values of vital lung capacity. Expansion of the chest in the sagittal plane measured by the distance of 2 points avarage declined in standing. Chest expansion measured by the area in the transverse plane in standing on average decreased. Conversely, increased chest expansion measured by the area in the sagittal plane. Key words: respiration, sitting, standing, breathing, objectivisation, spirometry, Qualisys ~ 4 ~

Spatial choices of animals based on abstract visual stimuli: Configuration or shape?
Nekovářová, Tereza ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Syka, Josef (referee) ; Kršiak, Miloslav (referee) ; Frynta, Daniel (referee)
Spatial cognition as a model for study of learning, memory and problem solving has a long history in neurosciences. This cognitive ability is used for several reasons. Firstly, the ability to form the inner representation of a space, to orient in an environment, to perceive positions of prominent objects and of other animals is essential for all mammals and birds. Thus it is natural for animals to perform such behavior even in experimental conditions. Secondly, it is possible to compare spatial cognition of different species in similar tasks. And thirdly, there are strong indices of the possible neuroanatomical substrate and mechanism underlying spatial cognition. There are different strategies of navigation in an environment, which could be distinguished by different criterions. They differ in the frames of reference in which the observer operates, i.e. whether the co-ordinates are centered in a subject (egocentric orientation) or whether the co-ordinates encode only the relations between objects and dominants in the environment and they are not dependent on observer (geocentric orientation). The navigational strategies also differ by the type of cues that are used for navigation. In allothetic orientation the subject employs external landmarks, which may be not only visual stimuli, but also the stimuli of...

Molecular simulations in structure analysis of intercalates
Veteška, Marek ; Pospíšil, Miroslav (advisor) ; Beneš, Ludvík (referee)
The samples of hydrotalcite intercalated with pyrenetetrasulphonate acid were obtained. Their structure cannot be precisely determined by the analysis of X-ray data. The amount of water in the interlayer space and the structure of the samples differed considerably in dependence on humidity. Convenient procedures and minimization strategy were established on the base of X-ray data in the molecular mechanic and the molecular dynamic simulations. A procedure for using of the supramol software was made. This software enables deterministic searching of conformational space. Initial models from supramol were minimized in the Cerius2 software using the Universal force field and then they were eventually optimized by the molecular dynamics. The arrangement of molecules of pyrenetetrasulphonate acid and water was determined in the interlayer space of hydrotalcite for three different samples with different interlayer distances: The sample 1 prepared by RH = 0%: 9.83A; the sample 2 prepared by RH = 84%: 13.63A; the sample 3 prepared RH = 40%-50%: 11.74A a 12.81A. The results of these structures proved a large variability of the arrangement of the molecules in the interlayer space. The sample No. 3 seems to be unstable.

Formation of biofilm by probiotic bacteria and its processing to solid drug form.
Grossová, Marie ; Rittich, Bohuslav (referee) ; Buňka, František (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
The aim of present work is cultivation of probiotic bacteria L. acidophilus, B. breve and B. longum in such a way that the culture forms cells clusters or comprehensive biofilm on the variety of free carriers. Biofilm formation of L. acidophilus on the silica from point of view bile and acid tolerance in gastrointestinal tract was studied. While the number of living cells in planktonic form (planktonic form) at pH 1 fell by 30 %, the viability of the biofilm cells was maintained to 90 % under the same environmental conditions. The biofilm culture showed also the protection against environment contained bile. Furthermore, the possibilities of drying procedures of biofilm cultures used as commercial technologies in pharmaceutical industry were studied. The comparison of freeze-drying and fluidization bed drying showed, that freeze-drying is more suitable method, which is able to achieve higher amount of viable cells after drying than fluidization bed drying. The effectivity of freeze-drying method is dependent on the selection of suitable cryprotective medium. In this case, about 90 % higher viability after freeze drying was achieved in comparison with fluidization bed drying. Finally, the industrial processing of probiotic strains into the solid dosage form was studied. Tablets should be produced at hardness between 70 and 90 N and water activity of tablet mixture can be maintained below 0.3. Consequently, the drying step of the tablets in a hermetically closed space with at least 10 % of silica gel must be ensured. Thereafter, the tablets contain (5.4 ± 0.7)109 viable cells after 6 months of drying process. Capsule production technology has no significant effect on the cell‘s viability during production. The triplex blistering foil for primary blistering of probiotic capsules was chosen. The triplex foil, which has low values of water vapour transition rate (0.07 g H2O / (m2 × day) and oxygen transition rate (0.01 cm3/m2 × day), was chosen. Other studied blistering foils commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry are not suitable for long storage of solid dosage forms contained probiotics.
