Writing of Prechool Age Children
Holá, Andrea ; Viktorová, Ida (advisor) ; Kučera, Miloš (referee)
In my thesis I focused on writing for preschool children and its development in the context of the theory of Argentinian psychologists E. Ferreiro and his colleagues, which has its roots in Piaget's genetic epistemology. E. Ferreiro monitored and then developmentally organized the preconceptual ideas that preschool children have about writing and printing rules. 1 was interested in seeing whether Czech children implement a similar scheme when dealing with written tasks, and in comparing the eventual differences. The theoretical part is complemented by empirical research. The investigation was conducted in a kindergarten, where children received individual written assignments that they needed to try to solve. Writing was accompanied by a subsequent question and review session over the finished product with the children. The children's works were analyzed and assigned to the relevant developmental stages depending on the nature of the tasks. Results of my research should help educators, in particular First grade teachers who can take into account these Findings and use them in teaching processes.

I have understood after a dialogue with social worker that the children come back to their family no matter the family is. Only few of them want to cut loose. There were some dialogues with people who spent most part of their life in Children´s home. Which problem did they have. Who helped them. It has been found out that two from three respondents have had problem with money, they can´t plan it for a month. Another girl after leaving has had a problem to find a job.

The Development of Mimetic Desire towards Latent Conflict in the Work of Katherine Mansfield
Nováčková, Zuzana ; Wallace, Clare (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
Thesis abstract Using Aristotelian notion of imitative behaviour and René Girard's theory of mimetic desire, several stories by Katherine Mansfield are analysed in order to demonstrate the development of mimetic desire together with its implications. The analysis follows the negative aspects of mimesis: the problems it causes in relationships, as well as the positive aspects including the self-knowledge. Since Mansfield's stories do not correspond fully to Girard's theory, the analysis explores a specific way of dealing with mimetic desire: keeping the conflict latent. At first, the stories about childhood offer an insight into Aristotelian concept of mimesis - imitative behaviour being a natural and pleasing human activity that is best observed in children's plays. The stories show how children choose their models, how they comprehend the world that surrounds them, especially the interpersonal and social codes, and how important is imagination in their mimetic activities. The analysis proceeds from natural imitation to the origins of mimetic desire, focusing on two modes of mediation and on the process of realization of one's own self-authenticity. The search for self-authenticity is possible due to external or internal mediation of desire. The transition from one type to the other is explained by the...

The importance of diseases connected with lifestyle is increasing. Smoking, too much alcohol, fat and sweet nurture, lack of exercise, not using safety belts in cars and not observing traffic regulations participate in total mortality and sickness rate. Gay fatherhood. Expression of Activism in the Czech Context?
Ciprová, Kristýna ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Kolářová, Kateřina (referee)
This thesis elaborates on the concept of gay fatherhood, which has been so far insufficiently researched and discussed phenomenon, especially in the Czech Republic. The thesis explores attitudes of interviewed gay men towards questions of gay fatherhood. In-depth semi-structural interviews with 30 gay men investigated in what ways the matters of gay fatherhood are constructed in the Czech context; where and how the conceptions about gay fatherhood emerge and how they are maintained and/or transformed. In general, an important factor affecting one's desire to have children is prevailing institutional context. Institutional barriers and obstacles to having children that are systematically constructed by society, affect not only the mainstream population, but also (and above all) gay population. Therefore, building on review of relevant academic texts, the thesis focuses on a comparison of the Czech institutional context with the Scandinavian and Spanish one. Comparison of different models of enforcement of legislation concerning same-sex partnerships reveals key factors that enable institucionalization of same-sex partnerships/families. One of these factors was activism that became a conceptual framework of the thesis. The last chapter of theoretical part is therefore focused on formation of new social...
