Preparing for the eight-year gymnasium: the great pupil steeplechase
Federičová, Miroslava ; Münich, Daniel
Nearly 20% of all fifth-year pupils apply for entry to eight-year gymnasium, but fewer than half of them are successful. The vast majority apply on the basis of their own and their parents‘ joint interests. Preparation for the entry exams is a burden both for the children and their parents, whether in the form of lost free time, or in terms of financial outlayings for tutoring, preparatory courses and practice tests. Nearly 85% of those enrolled to take the entry examinations dedicate time weekly to their preparation, and each day sees almost one in two of these pupils busy with preparation. Intensive preparation vastly increases the likelihood of acceptance for the lowerachieving half of candidates. For the higher-achieving half, intensive preparation is rather an insurance measure, to ensure that the very hard-working candidates from the lower half will not overtake them. There are many indications that intensive extra-curricular study in preparation for the entry examinations for eight-year gymnasium significantly improves pupils‘ knowledge and skills. In this, will power, perseverance, ambition, rigour and pressure from the parents play a significant role.
A get - to - know - you program with a special focus on its knit - together aspect as a tool of risky behaviour prevention at high school.
PECHOVÁ, Ludmila
This bachelor´s thesis touches upon the complex idea of the effective tools utilised for the risk behaviour prevention at high school. Furthermore, it focuses on the class and school climate as a powerful tool of prevention. The thesis also stems from the author´s ten year experience with the original teambuilding project applied at Střední škola a Vyšší odborná škola cestovního ruchu in České Budějovice. The project embraces the concept of prevention as a complex unit. Moreover, it entails the idea of the school and class climate as a substantial part of prevention programs for youth. Practical part to the thesis consists of the teambuilding program methodology aimed at freshman year students. Methodology uses the elements of social learning, teambuilding, group dynamics and peer pressure. The whole idea of the program is to optimise conditions for successful study which should prevent students from dropping out. Last but not least, the prevention program shows students how to gain knowledge referring to healthy lifestyle.

Paramedic in a view of high school student
FALTUSOVÁ, Magdaléna
The bachelor?s thesis has a name: paramedic in a view of a high school student. I chose this topic because of my interest of this problematic. This work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part, there is described a definition and personality of paramedic in details, his competence, field's development, study opportunities and then even the study of Paramedic itself. The chapter ?study? is further divided into theoretical instruction, where subjects, which students must complete, are described in more details and practical training, where are mentioned school professional practice and individual practice that learners also attend. In the practical part is mention of the courses that students take. The following chapter discusses the opportunities for graduates in the field of Paramedic. Graduates can work in the emergency medical services on the position of the operator/dispatcher, the ambulance crews or in a hospital in area of acute beds. In the chapter entitled - Paramedic in the work process - are included subsections - admission to employment, starting practice of a graduate, job description and a salary. There is also analyzed student, high school, college and motivation to study. I also mention the Fair of universities and information that can be given there to students. And the final section of the theoretical part concerns the overall awareness of high school students about the paramedic. The second part is the practical part. For the practical part of this thesis it was used the quantitative method of research, which was done by a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was anonymous and was designed for students of ending years of medical school and one grammar school selected from Ceske Budejovice. Research questions focused on students' knowledge of paramedic, his studies and job descriptions. 130 questionnaires were distributed in total, their return was 82%. For the final processing were used 106 questionnaires (100%). 55 questionnaires were from medical school and 51 questionnaires were from the grammar school. The results are summarized in a graphical form where the knowledge of the paramedic, medical and non-healthcare fields was compared. Aim of the study was to map a view and perceptions of potential students of Paramedic study and the paramedic work itself. A hypothesis was: the students of secondary medical schools have a better idea of studying and working as a paramedic, than students of other schools. In the questionnaire there were questions such as: Do you think that during the study of Paramedic is obligatory practice during the summer holidays,? Does also must ZZ operate nursing activities nurses?, What is the job description of ZZ besides direct work with patients?, Do you think that the work of ZZ presented in various films and series corresponds to reality?, Who do you think can be in a outbound crew of emergency medical services? The hypothesis can be confirmed by the results in terms of percentage. However, we can say that the correctness of the resulting responses of medical disciplines were truer only about the minor percentage. It can be concluded that the overall awareness of students about studying and working as paramedic is still small and could be definitely higher. I therefore believe that this bachelor thesis can be an interesting source of information for students interested in the field of study Paramedic, as well as high school teachers who are established as the consultant in area of further education. Furthermore, this work could help as an impetus to high schools which offer the field Paramedic ? to help them to presented it better, especially on the websites, witch (according to my reserch) students use most. Based on research, which is part of this work was prepared more detailed information leaflet for valid awareness. This is intended primarily for people inferested in learning field Paramedic.

Database design for high school
Schoř, Martin ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Chlapek, Dušan (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create alternative and simpler database without unused functions, which can be used by application designed to keep a records of students and teachers and to create and manage timetable of high school. The created database should also be easily extendable. I started by analyzing high school, then created conceptual and physical model of the database and in the end described access rights of users of the database. I've also used a small data sample to test the database in Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2. The expected contribution of this thesis for teachers should be more transparent and simpler database than the one which is currently used by the consulted high schools. The created database should mainly be a contribution for students, who currently have no access at all to the school database. The thesis is mainly focused on the database design and its practical realization with theoretical parts where relevant.

Vošický, Jan ; Marešová, Zdena (advisor) ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the computer science education in the Czech Republic, especially on high schools that aren't focused on computer science education. One of the aims is to analyze level of computer science education on high shools. This is closely related to the desigh og legislative documents issued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and sports of the Czech republic (i.e. National Eucation Programme, Framework educational programs, etc.) which also thessis deal with. Another aim is to summarize the requirements of Universities in field of computer science education, which represents a framework of knowledge that students should control to join University education without any problems. The main aim is to analyze and compare the level of computer science teaching at high schools with informatics requirements of universities which every upcoming student will meet. I would highlight its asymmetry and dissonance. The analysis and then comparing is based on real data obtained from the survey. In most of schools there was personal visit. Results of survey may lead to accept/decline hypothesis that computer science education on high schools is below the level needed for a transition to the university system without any problems and to draw come recommentations and suggestins for improvements in computer science education on high schools. Since this work deals with education, it will also map the information technology enviroment in which most of activities connected with study are done.
