Web Analytics: Identification of new trends

The goal of this thesis is to identify the main trends in the field of tools used to analyse web traffic. The necessary theoretical background is extracted from relevant literature and field research is chosen to gain knowledge of practitioners. Following trends have been identified: a growth in demand for Web Analytics software, an increasing interest in Web Analytics courses, an enlargment of measuring Web 2.0 and social networks, use of semantic information as the most fruitful section of academic research. The thesis also presents the main techniques of Web Usage Mining: association rules, sequential patterns, and clustering. A section about query categorization is also included. According to the field research, practitioners express most interest in clustering. The first two chapters present Web Analytics in general and introduce the main aspects of current applications. The third chapter covers theoretical research, the fifth one presents results of the field research. The fourth chapter raises the point that terminology of Web Analytics is not unified.

The world of Harry Potter translated into Czech and Slovak

This study provides a description of the translation techniques applied to the translation of culturally significant phenomena in the Harry Potter series into Czech and Slovak. The analysis extends to the first three boo ks of the Harry Potter series by British author J. K. Rowling and their translations into Czech and Slovak. The theoretical framework is derived from the views of Finnish scholar R. Oittinen (2000) on the translation of children's literature; the translation techniques used to analyze the translations are taken from Molina&Albir (2002). Chapter 1 discusses Harry Potter from the point of view of literary theory. It reviews the different traditions (Anglo-American, Czech, Slovak) in defining and describing fantasy literature and fantasy for children. In the Czech and Slovak literary contexts, there is a tendency to view works similar to Harry Potter as fairy tales with fantastic elements. Chapter 2 reviews the field of translation studies with respect to translation of children's literature. Coping strategies and stress factors of elderly people in their own households and homes for the elderly

The thesis determines whether life in home for the elderly in fluence on stress factors and stress management of seniors. The theoretical part is devoted to the description of old age and their specific needs, changes in old age and elderly living. The second chapter is devoted to the general definiton of stress and its context, response to stress, psychosomatic dimension of stress. Charakterizes the stress factors, their categories and stress factors related to home for the elderly. The last area of the theoretical part contains the definition of coping strategies, ways of coping and the factors that affect it. The practical part contains a survey that aims to determine and compare stress factors and coping strategies of elderly people in their households and homes for the elderly. Partial goals were to describe the stress factors and coping strategie for all seniors and to find different by sex stress management seniors. And then describe what coping strategies used by all seniors. The data was used to determine coping strategies inventory (CSI). The study involved a total of 51 respondents, including 26 respondents were interviewed in their own households and 25 respondents in homes for the elderly.

Employee motivation

The Bachelor thesis disserts upon employee motivation, namely the intluence upon their working effort with the goal to increase their performance and loyalty, and operates with the fact that people, with their knowledge, abilities, skills and certain brainware, are the key factor for successful performance of each organization if they are optimally motivated. The thesis emphasizes the fact that the employee motivation cannot lie only in stimulation with material instruments because the labour is not just a source for living but it also meets a lot of other needs arising from natural human desire to do meaningful work and to be useful. At first the text explains the concept of motivation, its sources and describes the procedure and the principle of motivation process in accordance with psychological point of view. These findings are afterwards applied to the area of working behaviour and the thesis describes the relationship between motivation and job performance. The other part deals with labour motivation theories which are an important source of valuable information for further management practice. Electronic Registration of Sales

This thesis deals with the electronic registration of sales that has recently been introduced to Czech law in order to increase the revenues of public budgets, reduce the shadow economy and to safeguard a fair competitive environment for all businesses. This thesis is divided into two essential parts. The first part hereof deals with general issues of registration of sales whereas the second part analyses particular aspects of the new legislation. In the first chapter, general matters of the registration of sales are discussed. The main objectives of the registration of sales as well as possible means of such registration are introduced. Moreover, one part of this chapter is dedicated to the recordkeeping obligation as it is to be found in Czech law. The second chapter deals with the Act No. 112/2016 Coll., on Registration of Sales. Firstly, the Act is introduced in general terms and its place in the Czech legal order as well as the legislative process is discussed. Secondly, it analyses some provisions of the Act, in particular those relating to the entities that have the obligation to register their sales under the Act and those covering the subject-matter, i.e. the registered sale as such. Scope of EU law This thesis deals with scope of EU law. Scope of EU law in concrete situation is defined by meeting conditions layed down for material, territorial, personal and temporal scope of EU law. The aim of the thesis is to define when those conditions are met and to analyse situations, where it's not clear which legal order to apply and to give the reader an insight into situations when union law applies. This thesis is divided into two parts - first part gives insight and definitions about fundametal terms used in second part of this thesis. Part two deals with topic of this thesis. First chapter of the second part analyses material scope of Union law, thus answers the question in which legal relations has Union law material scope and divides material scope of Union law into two categories: exlusive material scope of Union law and non-exlusive material scope of Union law. Technical analysis based on trade volumes and their effectivity from the point of view of future price movements

This Bachelor Thesis studies methods of technical analysis based on trade volume. The first two chapters are theoretical. They describe financial markets, their functions, properties and methods used in analysis of financial instrument. In the next section is described efficient market hypothesis, forms of efficiency and tests of this hypothesis. The third chapter is analytical. The idea that extreme trading activity predict future increase, or decrease of stock prices is investigated. Here is described methodology, data aquisition, analysis results and comparison with other similar research.

Biopaliva v Ruské federaci, Ukrajině a Bělorusku: současný stav a výhled do budoucnosti

The purpose of diploma thesis is to provide an overview of biofuels market in Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine and estimate prospects of future development. First chapter characterizes biofuels in regard of the feedstock and further utilization. Next part of the thesis describes development of biofuel industry in the key selected countries and analyses current trends on the global market. Next three sections review Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian sectors of biofuels including feedstock potential, supportive policies, strategies, international collaboration and issues in biofuel production, distribution and consumption in each country. Last section of the thesis investigates potential from exported raw materials and its contribution to achievement of established targets with the following outlook for the future development.

The legal hospital health care regulation in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis is focused on the legal hospital health care regulation in the Czech Republic. The main efford is to provide a sufficient review of the up-to-date situation in this field. It examines hospitals by a theoretical standpoint and also its key problems concerning actual situation of the czech health care and lack of finance as the main significance. The top part of thesis focuses on actual legal hospital health care regulation and proposes ways of improvement. Following part assesses proposals of improvement of the hospital care quality. Final chapter presents possible ways of optimal solutions of hospital care as well as health care at all.

Capital structure of Czech joint stock companies and its determinants

The aim of this thesis is to perform an analysis of capital structure of joint stock companies based in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis introduces modern theories and main determinants of capital structure. Further it stakes out basic models used for testing the validity of mentioned theories and the methodology used. The second part of the thesis focuses on practical results of the analysis. The first chapter summarises descriptive analysis of the passive structure, the level of leverage, the composition of equity and liabilities of the joint stock companies. These ratios are judged mainly according to industry classification and the type of ownership. In the next step, the relationship between leverage and profitability is closely explored since it is thought to be one of the main determinants. In the last chapter, the models are applied to the sample of Czech companies with the effort to judge the validity of capital structure theories and to evaluate the effect of determinants on capital structure.
