Wegschmiedová, Markéta ; Žikovská, Petra (advisor) ; Dobřichovský, Tomáš (referee)
Moral rights in copyright Abstract This thesis, after a brief introduction to the issue of copyright, defines the basic concepts relating to author's moral rights and its nature. It provides an insight into the issue from various different points of view, focusing on the natural nature of moral rights and the natural nature of an author's work, that is reflected in the copyright legislation. The thesis also offers a comparison of two major legal systems of copyright - the authors' right system and the copyright system, which demonstrate the key institutes and characterize both legal cultures through their typical features and differences. The thesis draws attention to the fact that the regulation of copyright and moral rights in particular is far from uniform in the national context and that there are significant differences not only between the different legal systems but also within those legal systems. The thesis also presents copyright and moral rights in valid Czech legislation in terms of the systemic and conceptual definition of the Czech copyright law and then discusses in detail the individual moral rights of authors. An important part of this thesis is the issue of originality as one of the conceptual features of the work. The thesis explains the role of the Court of Justice of the European Union...
Individual variation in vocalization of Carnivores
Švůgrová, Barbora ; Linhart, Pavel (advisor) ; Vokurková, Jana (referee)
For carnivorans, as well as for other groups of animals, it is very important to be able to recognize other individuals. In this thesis, I focused on individual vocal variation in carnivoran's calls. I reviewed studies which desribed individual variability of calls in carnivorans. I focused on studies which used diskriminant analysis to quantify individual variation in calls. I updated the review of Insley et al. (2003) who suggested that the ability of individual recognition is more advanced in the Otariidae compared to Phocidae. My quantitative comparison on individual variability of Otariidae and Phocidae voices shows that the reason could be that Otariidae have more individually distinct voices. Furthermore, I compared the inidivuality in calls of other carnivorans. The comparison results do not support the hypothesis that animals living in groups have individually more variable voices than the animals living solitairy or in pairs. However, individuality seems to be influenced by ontogeny as it is easier to individually recognize calls of adults than calls of juveniles. In general, there have been many studies published about vocal individuality in carnivorans, but most of the research was done on just two very social families: Otariidae and Phocidae. It is necessary to study other carnivora...

The relation of science and art in Jan Patočka's philosophy
Dvořanová, Natálie ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Dadejík, Ondřej (referee)
The objective of this thesis will be an examination of Patočka's understanding of science and art as two possible comprehensions of reality, and their mutual relation. Firstly, I will focus on presenting the position, from which Patočka's ideas come - that is the distinction of two eras - artistic and aesthetic, where the first one shows religious truths and the other one the subjective and individual world of an artist and a work of art. The aesthetical era begins in the 19th century and connects thusly to the scientific and technological period. Science according to Patočka gives us a tool (and a language) to recover objective, but binding truths. It influences all aspects of life, such as social, economical, political, and also the scientific approach to art. However, modern and contemporary art show the subjective and individual truths, but only in the scientific and technological periods. This mutual relation will be the subject of examination.
