Methods of delimitation of peripheral regions in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis is focused on defining the peripheral regions in the Czech Republic. This topic is still very actual, both nationally, and internationally. Study of definition of unexposed regions is a part of comprehensive research of the territory polarization. Concern about this question was intensifying during the nineties. This time was characterized by growing differentiation between regions. This evoked interest about rise and progress of periphery. The theoretical part consists of important concepts, major theoretical approaches, policies and principles, which define the periphery of concern. Also development of interest in the Czech Republic is described as well as situation in foreign countries and time comparison. Practical knowledge of methods in the Czech Republic are summarized in conclusion of the thesis.

Internet travel communities

The present Thesis is devoted to the category of online projects aimed at communication between travelers, generally describes the above mentioned topic and its recent history. The main goals of the work are presentation of this area of the World Wide Web, explanation of its meaning for intercultural exchange and development all over the World. At the same time, the Thesis underlines the importance of the described field for global tourism development and strives to promote these new ways of travelling at a higher, scientific level. The Thesis also offers practical information for participation on such online projects, seeks possible paths for further development of travel communities, describes financial aspects of activities which these communities carry out and explains how these projects interact with other areas of tourism, first of all with entrepreneurship in this field. The main outcome of this Thesis is made up by presentation of the mentioned innovative ideas in modern tourism at a scientific level, definition of possible trends in new ways of traveling and hypotheses considering further development of World tourism in connection with continuous growth of virtual, which are at the same time real, communities of people from the whole planet with common passion for traveling. The basis for the Thesis consisted of theoretic knowledge as well as personal experience with operation of Internet travel communities of the author.

The Becomings of Narrative: Transformation and Transmutation in the Tibetan and Mongolian 'Enchanted Corpse' Cycle

The goal of this thesis is the investigation of the narratives of the originally Indian cycle of tales of the Enchanted Corpse (Sanskrit: Vetālapañcavinśati, Tibetan: ro sgrung, Mongolian: siditu' kegu'r-un u'liger) in their translation and cultural transmission to Tibet and Mongolia. Primarily, this work addresses these tales from a theoretical standpoint based on the writings of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, whose idea of "nomadology" appears highly suitable for investigating the striking differences of all of the various linguistic mutations. In particular, Deleuze's analysis of language, nomadic space, "becoming" (devenir), the body without organs (corps sans organs), speech and silence, can be very effectively applied to the interpretation of these tales in the new cultural environments of Mongolia and Tibet.

Social network of Japanese elderly

V současné době je problém stárnutí společnosti skloňován ve všech pádech jak v Japonsku, tak i Evropě či Spojených státech. Do popředí se však často dostávají palčivé ekonomické otázky v čele s reformou penzijního systému či stále napjatějším rozpočtem zdravotního pojištění. My se však na následujících stránkách zaměříme na seniory samotné, přičemž vědomě do určité míry pomineme fyzické aspekty stárnutí a zaměříme se na stránku sociálně psychologickou. Svou pozornost nasměrujeme na sociální síť japonských seniorů; pokusíme se o analýzu souboru lidských vztahů, které japonské seniory obklopují. Dostatek prostoru budeme věnovat i sociálním rolím, které do značné míry velikost a kvalitu sociální sítě ovlivňují, a nezapomeneme na sociální pozici seniorů v rámci rodiny či komunity. Chceme tak alespoň částečně přispět k vytvoření uceleného obrazu stárnoucího Japonska, kde podíl obyvatel starších 65 let roste mimořádně rychle a zásadně tak mění strukturu celé společnosti. Diplomovou práci jsme rozčlenili do tří základních bloků. V úvodu se budeme zabývat demografickým vývojem Japonska, srovnáme ho se stavem v Evropě a nabídneme i výhled do budoucna. Vector editors and design of user interface for Inkscape

Diploma work, focused on user interface of Inkscape computer software is divided into several analytic parts. It is mapping the social part for this kind of software. Describing how it involves people who work with that application. At the end of the work I applied the theory and my own praxis from this field to introduce new design of the Inkscape application. I applied mainly what I have learned during those years of study and surly experience gained by designing information systems and websites. First part introduces current trends and changes in user interface evolution. Involved mainly by internet and its never ending force which takes it to much more people and into more types of electronic equipment. All that influences the social perception of the computer and its software interface. It describes possible threads and opportunities for the future. To summarize that, the work takes its readers into the field and defines the borders of space which is forming our scope while designing UI. In the closing part there is a maximum of information, I gained during the study, applied into final solution - which is ideal user interface of Inkscape software. Usage and application of these theoretical thoughts onto testing model is made by using symbols common for this software field according to the theory.

Předmětem předkládané práce jsou územní změny v obcích, jeden z neprávem poněkud opomíjených feno-ménů první republiky. Přitom se jednalo o jev v této době v českých zemích velice rozšířený, ba mohli bychom říci masový. I když počty realizovaných sloučení, rozloučení a změn obvodů obcí v prvním desetiletí existence samostatného československého státu jdou do stovek a dokonce se blíží až k magické tisícovce, nebyla jim do-sud věnována patřičná pozornost. Právě tato okolnost vedla k výběru tohoto tématu, které zároveň tvoří samo-statnou kapitolu našich správních dějin. Šlo o procesy společností ostře sledované, jež se tu více tu méně promít-ly do života téměř každého obyvatele obce, která takovou změnou prošla. Ale i tam, kde zůstalo pouze u žádosti, měl zahájený proces po nějaký čas značný vliv na život v obci a také na vzájemné vztahy se sousedním celkem či celky, jež měla požadovaná změna "zasáhnout". Už samotným podáním podnětu ke změně se mnohdy napros-to bezproblémové soužití lidí žijících vedle sebe v těsné blízkosti na relativně malém prostoru, ale nezřídka na katastrech dvou různých obcí, změnilo ze dne na den v rivalství, odpor, nevraživost až nenávist. Tyto negativní důsledky úspěšně i neúspěšně proběhnuvších kauz územních změn se často projevovaly ještě několik let poté. Na první pohled v sobě...

Nodální regiony v Evropě vymezené na základě letecké dopravy

This master´s thesis deals with the delineating of nodal regions via civil aviation data in the territory of central European states. This kind of transport has become a very popular type of spatial mobility after its deregulation and liberalization particularly thanks to its speed, cheaper fares and relative safety. Thanks to this spatial mobility of inhabitants, it is possible to delineate borders of regions according to real movements. Supposing usage of aviation data to delineate nodal regions, the airports represent their nodes. The purpose of this master´s thesis was delineating nodal regions via civil transport data in an interesting territory of Central Europe. Its western and eastern part has undergone different historical and political development which has had consequences on the aviation development level. Research input data included number of flights between central European airports for the period of 1 day. The master´s thesis is structured into 5 chapters. The first parts are: introduction and goals, theoretical part and methodology. The analytical part evaluates the whole nodal-region-delineating process and also nodal regions final hierarchical structure. Each partial part of research was depicted into a map and was also expressed by population and area. There are answers on the input hypothesis in the final part of this paper.

Queer geography of Czechia: Heteronormativity of space

Drawing on rigorous foreign, both Western and non-Western, literature, this thesis introduces sexuality and its connected spatial conceptualizations to Czech geography. In the beginning of the theoretical part, I discuss the framework under which geography studies sexuality. Then, I discuss the crucial terminology while pointing out at some changes in it. After understanding some of the major terminological issues, I delve into a description of the multiple and diverse development of sexuality related geographies. Focusing on queer geography, I delineate the queer standpoint and concentrate on understanding the spatial construction of sexuality in space while unveiling the heteronormativity of space. Using the queer approach, I implicitly deconstruct the binary of public and private space by pointing out at its spuriousness regarding the sexuality. I present a queer bar as a typical queer space while revealing the sexual closetedness of LGBTIQ people. Then I introduce the school environment as, for the time being, a typical heteronormative space and institution. In the end of the theoretical part, I discuss the queer practices of destabilizing heteronormativity both at school and in public space. The History of the Sokol Movement in Lysé nad Labem

Sokolská organizace má za sebou bohatou minulost a je navždy zapsána do historie tohoto státu. Z jejích řad vyšlo mnoho obránců naší republiky, ať už jako legionáři nebo bojovníci za svobodu na bojištích druhé světové války. Sokol z nich vychoval lidi s vynikající morálkou i fyzickou kondicí. Lyský Sokol vznikl jen pár let po "průkopnickém" Sokole v Praze a hned byl velký zájem o členství v jednotě. Bohužel tragickou nehodou ve městě, která vyvolala krizi, byla činnost jednoty záhy na 2 desetiletí neúmyslně pozastavena. Naštěstí obyvatelé nezapomněli a Sokol znovu ožil a dále sílil. Tentokrát organizaci do cesty vstoupila válka, a tak činnost ochabla. Po válce se vzchopil a zažíval svá nej lepší léta. S druhou světovou válkou byla činnost Sokola opět zastavena a tentokrát ani po skončení neměl příliš prostoru k rozletu, komunistická diktatura ho též shledala nepřípustným. Přesto se Sokolové nevzdali a přes mnoho nepravostí působil v ilegalitě. Revoluční rok 1989 mu opět otevřel brány. Tak jak byl Sokol v rozkvětu za první republiky, si však dnes můžeme nechat zdát, ačkoliv dle mého názoru jsou jeho myšlenky stále aktuální. Bohužel dnešní společnost, jak se zdá, upřednostňuje zřejmě jiné cíle a hodnoty.

Potenciál futures na index PX

Tato práce srovnává první český burzovně obchodovaný termínový kontrakt, futures na index PX, s dalšími světovými futures kontrakty a analyzuje potenciál úspěšnosti tohoto kontraktu. Tento základ je doplněn informacemi o dalším vývoji a emisích na českém trhu burzovních derivátů. Dále práce shrnuje základní teoretické a praktické znalosti o futures na index se zaměřením na český trh a jeho vývoj. Nejvíce prostoru je věnováno regresní analýze objemů obchodování u futures na index PX a dalších osmi indexových kontraktů v závislosti na čase. Cílem je nalézt standardní regresní funkci, která by popisovala vývoj této závislosti u úspěšných termínových kontraktů na index. Výsledná funkce je následně porovnána s vývojem tohoto atributu právě u futures na index PX. Tato analýza je doplněna podobnou studií u dalších čtyř velice úspěšných futures kontraktů s jiným podkladovým aktivem než je index. Analyzován je také vývoj objemů obchodvání u nově emitovanými futures na akcie společností ČEZ a Erste Bank.
