Communication between the Android OS and Arduino Platform

This thesis deals with creating a library for the Android OS which enables efficient wireless communication with platform Arduino. The target is to create an application for Android OS, using a created library that allows you to capture data from various sensors and control effectors. The work describes basic wireless interfaces for Android OS and Arduino platform. The main benefits and drawbacks functions are also introduced. The comparison of current consumption for modules HM-10 and DIGI S1 has been carried out as well. Possibility of data acquisition and effector controlling exercises have been tested and verified.

Online rozpoznávání ručně psaných matematických formulí

In this thesis, we deal with online recognition of handwritten mathematical formulas. We provide an introduction to the field of study, discuss the current state of the art and survey several existing implementations in detail. Then we present our own solution comprehending two steps. In the first step, individual symbols are detected utilizing temporal and spatial relations of the handwritten strokes. Then we recognize the symbols by combining results provided by an existing third party library with our rule based methods and template symbols matching. In the second step, a structure of the formula is examined. We introduce a novel approach incorporating a grammar based description of the formula with a statistical evaluation of the subexpressions. We also discuss related problems comprehending implementation of the recognizer as a web application and acquisition of the sample data.

Parallel ray-tracing

Ray tracing is a very popular algorithm for rendering of 3D objects. It yields realistic-looking results, unfortunately paid by high computational complexity. Tree data structures can be used to speed up ray tracing as well as parallelizing the computation among all the cores of the CPU and many machines connected by a network. The goal of this thesis is to implement a distributed ray tracer using tree data structure. We have developed a library for distributed computing and used it to parallelize our ray tracer.

Acquisition network system in Municipal Library of Prague

Cílem bakalářské práce je podrobný popis akvizičních procesů probíhajících v Městské knihovně v Praze (dále jen MKP). Práce se skládá z šesti hlavních kapitol a přílohové části. První úvodní kapitola přináší všeobecný přehled o způsobech akvizice knihovního fondu v knihovnách. Druhá kapitola charakterizuje MKP jako celek, popisuje její síť poboček a knihovní fond. Třetí kapitola popisuje strukturu oddělení akvizice, zařazení tohoto oddělení do organizační struktury MKP a detailně se zabývá popisem akvizičního modulu knihovního systému Koniáš a akvizičního programu Akvizitor. Čtvrtá kapitola podrobně popisuje způsob výběru a nákupu tištěných monografií do celé sítě poboček MKP prostřednictvím nákupních komisí, uvádí ostatní způsoby doplňování české i zahraniční knižní produkce a zmiňuje všechny fáze procesu akvizice, evidence a následného zpracování dokumentů až po expedici na jednotlivé pobočky. Pátá kapitola přibližuje odlišnosti při akvizici periodik, zvukových nosičů, hudebnin, elektronických materiálů a speciálních dokumentů. Závěrečná šestá kapitola ukazuje na možnosti předpokládaného vývoje procesu akvizice v MKP. V přílohách je seznam poboček MKP, grafické znázornění organizace oddělení akvizice a jeho organizačně funkčního řešení, příklady seznamů na nákupní komise, příklad průvodky k dokumentu,...

Canadian university libraries and their information services

Bakalářská práce analyzuje a hodnotí současnou situaci kanadských univerzitních knihoven, se zvláštním zaměřením na jejich informační služby. V úvodní části je popsán historický vývoj kanadských univerzitních knihoven a jejich současná situace je zasazena do společenského kontextu. Další část se věnuje spolupráci kanadských univerzitních knihoven v rámci významné celonárodní Kanadské asociace vědeckých knihoven a v rámci silných regionálních asociací. Uvedeny jsou konkrétní příklady spolupráce. Jádrem práce je analýza a popis čtyř vybraných univerzitních knihoven: Knihovny Britskokolumbijské univerzity (University of British Columbia Library, http://www.library.ubc.ca/), Knihovny Univerzity Simona Frasera (Simon Fraser University Library, http://www.lib.sfu.ca/), Knihovny McGillovy univerzity (McGill University Library, http://www.mcgill.ca/library/) a Knihovny Albertské univerzity (University of Alberta. Library, http://www.library.ualberta.ca/). V závěru jsou shrnuty poznatky získané analýzou vybraných knihoven a situace kanadských univerzitních knihoven je stručně srovnána se situací v ČR.

Informatization and electronization in field of public administration and its development in Central Bohemia region

The work generally defines public administration informatization and electronization. It analyzes legislative security of public administration in relation to inhabitants. Shortly presents a historical overview of institutions, which are responsible for realization of information policy in field of public administration informatization and electronization. In deep go in for various projects in field of public administration and information needs of inhabitants 4 in relation to public administration. The work brings overview about investigation results of exploitation of information and communication technologies. Analyses public administration electronization, and, after short historical overview, the work focuses on problems of electronic signature and electronic registries. In next chapter the work presents information systems of public administration, relevant legislation and amendment of act. Subsequently the work occupy by the Central Bohemia Region, which is part of the public administration, regional authority, which is one of its authority, and Central Bohemia Scientific library in Kladno, where analyzes development of informatization and electronization. Final evaluation of informatization and electronization in field of public administration in Czech Republic reports the last chapter of this work.

Customized literature acquisition system with support for qualified decision making

Libraries are important and essentials resources for scientific research, work in academic environment and development of our society. Libraries invest vast sums of money to purchase information resources in order to extend their materials and by doing so, satisfying the needs of their readers. Several means to optimize the acquisition policy are utilized. Statistical analysis is one of the significant decisive and control mechanisms which is essential foundation for the vindication of financial expenses, planning for their further use and objective examination of available resources utility.The aim of my diploma thesis is to analyse and to make a proposal and to implement the system which allow facilitation at the scheduling of the investments and to improve the quality of the library materials. At first the focus is dedicated to a processes and techniques which pass over during the acquisition, next obtaining the knowledges significant for the unique demands of applications and analysis. After the preliminary part of analysis this tesis describe the choice of the technologies and my personal concept of application. Contributions to the live and work of German-Bohemian artist Karl Krattner(1862-1926)

My work is mostly considering profesor Karl Krattner, who was one of the most brisk figures of the czech-german culture life at the end of 19. and the beginnig of 20. century. As a profesor at the Academy of arts he significanty contributed to the culture events in Prague and also became an important representative ofthe monumental religious painters. Profesor Krattner was a member of many art clubs such as Moderní galerie, certainly the most important one, Metznerbund, Club of the german artists in Bohemia and many others. There were many art clubs existing in Bohemia and Prague in that time and I focus on them in one of the chapters and the last chapter describes the situaton in the north of Bohemia where The Metznerbund became an important art club. The whole work is written as a historical excursion into the cultural world of the end of 19. and the beginning of 20. century.

System for Recording and Evaluation of GPS Data

The aim of the thesis is design and implementation of web system for results evaluation and tracking of sports events based on GPS data. GPS data acquisition is possible by mobile application for Android operating system or by import TCX files. User interface allows realtime competitors tracikng or replay of competition progress. The part of application is automatic generating of intermediate and overall standings of athletes. System is implemented in PHP scripting language, user interface was developed in HTML, CSS, javascript libraries jQuery, Bootstrap and OpenLayers for work with maps.
