Pěstebně-ekonomická analýza listnatých mlazin s různou příměsí dubu vzniklých kombinovanou a umělou obnovou
Zapletal, Miroslav
Abstract of the work This thesis deals with the growth characteristics of oak at the stage of coppice that was based in different variants depending on the type of mixing and method of recovery (combined, artificial). The research areas are located in Kostelec woods which is about 7 km from the Holešov town in the district of Kroměříž. In total there are five areas evaluated, the area (I, II) Option 1 - monoculture and area (III - V) Option 2 - mixed (combined and artificial regeneration). Crops were chosen so as they are the same age, only the area V is older and without silvicultural intervention. The measurement of tree species was carried out in each alternative on the pad of 3.14 m2 (r = 1 m) in a regular grid of 5x5 m. On each space were measured height, výčetní tloušťka a cenotické postavení of all trees and quality of the treetop. Collected data are recorded in tables and graphs. The results of the thesis show that the oaks in option (1) in all the above parameters are better than in the variant (2).

The history of chemical wars
HORKÁ, Jana
Chemical weapons count among the weapons of mass destruction. In addition to chemical weapons, also nuclear and biological weapons belong here. Historically, chemical weapons rank among the oldest ones. Their initial steps were made in the distant past, even if they were not called so then. However, the initial utilization of chemical agents against human force is more connected with fire. It was used for protection against attacks of animals as well as people. Later on it was used to protect or capture towns and fortifications. The most extensive use of chemical weapons in war occurred during World War I. A large number of chemical substances was tested, the most important being phosgene. In 1917, German army used vesicant yperite near the town of Ypres. The development of chemical warfare agents continued also after the year 1918. During World War II, chemical weapons were practically not used. If it happened, then on the secondary fronts only. The main reason was the fear of possible retaliation. From 1939 to 1945, huge amounts of chemical warfare agents were made. Towards the end of the war this stockpile amounted to approximately 400 000 tonnes. After World War II, a new stage of chemical armament has begun. The greatest attention was concentrated on nerve agents, sarin, soman and agent VX. Chemical warfare agents have been further used also after the year 1945. In the not so distant past, Iraq used nerve-paralyzing agents and yperite during the Iran-Iraq War (1980 {--} 1988). Last but not least, the use of chemical warfare agents for terrorist purposes is to be mentioned. In January 1993, the global fight against chemical weapons culminated in signing of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction. Under this Convention, chemical weapons were to be liquidated until the year 2007. States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention which did not comply with this deadline have asked for prolongation of the final deadlines for chemical weapons liquidation until 29 April 2012. The question remains if even this prolongation will fulfil the goal of the Convention {--} to ensure a world without chemical weapons. Until the time when the stockpiles of chemical weapons are completely liquidated their possible misuse cannot be excluded. The states which have not joined the Convention as yet and own limited stockpiles of chemical weapons can use them.

The following chapter illustrates his life period during war and after war, when Hugenberg loses his political power and seeks primarily to protect his property and achieve a "moral cleansing". Thesis also shows detailed treatises on the mental and materialistic basics of Hugenberg's concern and provides an itemized illustration of its progressive construction. Concurrently, the function of individual parts of the concern, its financial background and position inside the media market during the period of Weimar Republic are described. Comprehensive picture of the life of Alfred Hugenberg and his media concern is incorporated into the contemporary context however, particularly his collaboration with Adolph Hitler takes certain attention. Hugenberg's political affiliations helped Hitler to...

The role of nematodes in transmission of parasitic protozoans to a new host
Choutková, Jana ; Bulantová, Jana (referee) ; Horák, Petr (advisor)
A question of transmission to new hosts is fundamental for all parasitic organisms. Some parasites are adjusted to transmit themselves to new hosts by direct way thanks to the resistant life stage, some others use one or more intermediate hosts. An extreme case is transfer by parasitization of another parasite from the same host. Use of another parasite as a transport vehicle helps to realize transmission and this phenomenon can be termed. One example is the protozoan Histomonas meleagridis. This protozoan lives in the intestine of galliform birds where it can attack the roundworm, Heterakis gallinarum, another parasite of the bird intestine. This protozoan, which does not produce any resistant cyst stage in its life cycle and migrates into the roundworm eggs. After release of the eggs to the external environment, the egg provides a protection against external factors and ensures transfer of the protozoan to the new host. Some data suggests that a similar mode of transmission to new hosts can also be used by some others protozoans. One of them is a protozoan from human intestine, Dientamoeba fragilis. Enterobius vermicularis, a pinworm which parasitizes the same host, could serve as a vector of this protozoan. Another potential example of this phenomenon could be Tritrichomonas muris from mouse in...

Studies of CD44 glycoprotein activation by using the specific monoclonal antibody.
Fučíková, Jitka ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Herink, Josef (referee)
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an heterogenous leukemia characterized by the blockage of myeloid differentiation at different stages. The ligation of CD44 with specifics monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) (A3D8 and H90), triggers terminal differentiation of leukemic blasts in AML-M1/2 to AML-M5 subtypes. The CD44 surface antigen is the most important hyaluronic acid receptor and is involved in cell adhesion and migration. To investigate the mechanism of myeloid differentiation due to CD44 specific monoclonal antibodies, and to confirmed our hypothesis on involvement of cleavage of intracellular domain of CD44 (ICD) and migration of ICD in the nucleus, we have used the THP-1 (AML-M5 subtype) cell line and the CHO cell line transfected with a CD44 molecule tagged in the C-terminal with the Myc Tag (CD44-Myc). In the first step we have purified ascite H90 MAb by affinity Protein G chromatography, followed by SDS PAGE electrophoresis to analyse the purity of MAb. In second step, we have performed differentiation assays of THP-1 to test the efficacity of the MAb. THP-1 and CHO cells have been selected for the highest CD44-Myc Tag expression after G418 antibiotic (geneticin) selection using FACS analysis. To analyse ICD Tagged (ICD-Myc) localisation in cells, we have first performed analysis of nuclear and cytoplasmic...

Functional Competence as the Goal of Developing Speaking Skill in Teaching German as a Foreign Language
Hejduková, Andrea ; Nečasová, Pavla (advisor) ; Chvál, Martin (referee) ; Spáčilová, Libuše (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of speaking skill whcn teaching German as a foreign language. It tries to analyse all possible aspects of speaking skill in order to develop the best possible teaching approach that would enable students to use their (spoken) language effectively and reach their communicative goals. For this skill. vvhich is defined mainly by the ability to perform the language functions that one needs to express, the term Tunctional competence' is used. An important feature of this term is the preference of success of communication to its correctness. The theoretical part first explains the terms used in the thesis (ability / skill / competence, learning versus acquisition). Afterwards, speaking skill is analysed in the context of other communicative skills, i. e. listening, reading. and writing, so that it is clear that no particular skill can be dealt with in a completely isolated way and that the teaching process should always involve an appropriate combination of various communicative skills. A separate chapter describes the differences between monologues and dialogues / polylogues. After that. three stages of speaking skill are analysed (imitative speaking. guided non-imitative speaking, and autonomous speaking). For these stages. vast amount of concretc examples of speaking tasks...

Poetry slam and slam poetry in Germany and Czech Republic. History, forms and comparison
Lupínková, Martina ; Zbytovský, Štěpán (advisor) ; Blahak, Boris (referee)
This thesis deals with a contemporary phenomenon bordering on literature and performance, i.e. with the poetry slam. It summarizes the different attitudes to the terminology and the definitions of the key terms (particularly within the Czech-German discourse), includes the history of the poetry slam formation, its expansion to the other countries and its establishment in the Czech Republic and Germany. The work focuses on a comparison of important aspects of the "poetry slam" as an event format and the "slam poetry" as a literary genre on the Czech and German scene, which was based on available literature, slam visits, recordings from the events and interviews with the participants. The results of the comparative analysis provide the public better with the specifics of the both scenes, which is of importance especially to the Czech scene that has stayed without a public interest up to the present day.

Irony as a perlocutionary act. A pragmatic analysis of ironic utterances
Rosická, Irena ; Holanová, Radka (referee) ; Chejnová, Pavla (advisor)
The aim of my thesis is to collect and then analyse authentic ironic utterances from specific area. The emphasis is put primarily on irony signalizing and irony understanding. The phenomenon of the irony is looked from a pragmatic point of view and analysed with respect to Theory of Politeness and Grice's Cooperative Principle. We made a further remark about signaling ironic utterances, confirmed the hypothesis about irony signalizing and showed the most frequent language signals. We showed the preconditions which are necessary for irony understanding and explained the relation to Theory of Politeness, Cooperative Principle and Brown and Levinson's "face-saving" politeness theory. We showed, that irony is more frequently used in negative situations (as ironic critisism) than in positive ones. But we found out that there are the examples of ironic critisism which are far less face threatening than literally spoken ones. At the end of the thesis we tried to propose own classification based on pragmatic functions of irony.
