The Roman Catholic Church and the Human Rights
Gál, Miroslav ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Matějek, Marek (referee)
ENGLISH ANNOTATION The Roman Catholic Church and the Human Rights (Bachelor Theses) In this work questions about human rights and freedom are briefly discussed. Two conceptions of the nature of human rights and freedom are characterized. The first one and older one is based on Jewish Christian tradition of creation of mankind. The second one also called antropocentric has its root in Antic age but its development is closely connected with French revolution and independence of the USA. Historical and contemporary relations of Roman Catholic Church to the idea of human rights and freedom form a main part of this bachelor theses. The contrast between Charter of the Rights of Catholics in the Church and encroach on human rights in the Catholic Church is also discussed. Key words: Human Rights; Freedom; Roman Catholic Church; Antropocentric and Jewish Christian Tradition; Encroach on Human Rights

Management motivation and increase job performance
Kocourová, Lenka ; Hron, Jan (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with management motivation and increase work performance. The main work is to evaluate the style of motivation in the company, in case of occurrence of deficiencies, it is necessary to propose new solutions of motivational tools. The first theoretical part includes basic concepts of management, along with motivational theories and management staff, where you can get acquainted with all terms of people management. The theoretical part is compiled from secondary sources on the basis of specialist literature. The practical part follows the first theoretical part, which includes the performance of the company. The selected firm did not want to be published, so the work will not appear its name. The practical part is determined by the situation of motivation of human resources in the company (such as employee training, compensation and benefits). To determine the situation were I used information available from internal and external sources. Subsequent analysis was determined by questionnaires focused on employee satisfaction with provided benefits to which they prefer. If the benefits provided to employees are not satisfactory, then we need to build a new incentive program. Further research method was used in the form of a guided interview, which served to supplement primary data obtained by questionnaire. Guided interview questions were compiled according to the areas involved in the management of employees, particularly in the area of evaluation and remuneration and share information. Finally, the thesis was the finding of research findings. The obtained data was compiled, organized and evaluated. Based on the findings of the situation in the company were recommended new opportunities for incentive programs, due to which the company could achieve better results.

Fanconi anemia and pancreatic cancer
Hucl, Tomáš ; Špičák, Julius (advisor) ; Nečas, Emanuel (referee) ; Vodička, Pavel (referee)
Inactivation of the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway occurs in diverse human tumors including pancreatic cancer and renders those tumors hypersensitive to DNA interstrand-cross-linking agents (ICL). How to treat specificly pancreatic and other cancers harboring FA mutations has recently raised great interest, yet preclinical studies have been hampered by the lack of well-controlled human cancer models. We endogenously disrupted FANCC and FANCG in an adenokarcinoma cell line and observed a typical phenotype of FA pathway deficiency (abrogation of FANCD2 monoubiquitination; chromosomal instability, G2M arrest and decreased proliferation upon treatement with ICL, spontaneous chromosomal breakage). Homozygous deletion was achieved for FANCC and FANCG but not for FANCD2 and BRCA2/FANCD1 in RKO cells, suggesting a detrimental phenotype. It provided direct evidence for the paradoxical assumption that their inactivation could be predominantly selected against in cancer cells. Using high-throughput screening, we assessed the growth of our isogenic FANCC and FANCG cells upon treatment with 880 active drugs and 40 000 diverse compounds. The compound having the stronges effect, named 80136342, had a distinct mechanism of action from that of ICL agents. When applied in combination with ICL agents, 80136342 had at least...

Human Rights Based Approach to Development - Case Study of Norway
Vodňanská, Zuzana ; Zemanová, Štěpánka (advisor) ; Rolenc, Jan Martin (referee)
Since the 1990s, there have been significant changes to the methods and goals to provide development aid. Human rights have become an integral part of local, national and international projects that primarily focus on other goals. This new approach started to be called as the "Human Rights Based Approach to Development" (HRBA). From that time on the HRBA has gained many supporters not only among states but also among non-governmental organizations on either bilateral or multilateral level and also the international legal framework has been created. Nevertheless, to-date there has been little consensus regarding the integration of the HRBA, the monitoring and results' evaluation of the development aid projects and the providers of the development aid differ in their approaches to the HRBA. This thesis will analyze historic development and include current approaches to the HRBA from multiple stakeholders. Once the findings are in place, it will be applied to the Norwegian India Partnership Initiative (NIPI), which is a solid case study. The aim of this thesis is to find out if Norway, which has signed up several times to the HRBA in its foreign development policy, has implemented the approach successfully.

Studying of atorvastatin effects lipid profile in mice models of atherosclerosis.
Slanařová, Martina ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Hyšpler, Radomír (referee)
Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of blood vessels with a successive, very slow progress which takes many years and ,,plugs"disabled vessels. Faults and changes in representation and quantity of lipoproteins are for this disease very typical. In human medicine is mostly used medication Statins during a therapy of dyslipoproteinemia. The aim is this thesis was to describe the changes of biochemical lipoproteins levels at the various mice models of atherosclerosis. Furthermore we wanted to describe the changes lipids after administering of atorvastatin in apoE-defitient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice. Female of apoE-deficient mice and apoE/LDLr-deficient mice were divided into a control and with atorvastatin treated group, where atorvastatin was administered in a period of 8 weeks in a dose of 100 mg/kg mouse. Biochemical analysis of lipids was performed by a separation method of lipoproteins by means of ultracentrifugal technique. Biochemical analysis of blood of apoE-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks atorvastatin treatment in a dose of 100 mg/kg significantly increased levels of total cholesterol, VLDL, LDL and HDL cholesterol. The blood analysis of apoE/LDLr-deficient mice demonstrated, that 8 weeks long treatment with atorvastatin in the same doses significantly reduced...

Effect of linoleic and α-linolenic acidis in pig nutrition on quantity and quality of intramuscular fat of pork with emphasis on the n-6/n-3 PUFA-spectrum
Vehovský, Karel ; Stupka, Roman (advisor)
Human nutrition is a function of nutrients' intake from food. The essential nutrients needed by the human body to produce energy, growth and repair of cells, tissues and organs and which accepts in the human diet, are fats. They are obtained from plant or animal sources. Especially animal fats are often ranged among the unpopular food components. Czech Republic is a country with traditionally high consumption of pork. Recently, about healthy foods greatly increase the interest. These include some animal products having an altered composition of fatty acids in fats. The content and composition of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in human nutrition are important for protecting of human health. The high content of saturated fatty acids in foods and unfavorable ratio between the n-6 and n-3 fatty acids may be the cause of many diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. Fats in the diet should contain saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, in a ratio of about 1: 1.4: 0,6. From a health perspective, the most important are the n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Animal fats, however, contain sufficient n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, n-3, however, a little. Pork meat quality from the viewpoint of fatty acids composition is currently not very favorable. Significant effects on the fatty acids profile of animal fats have the fats in the feed. It is thus the possibility of by using the diet to influence the composition of fatty acids in the fat in pig. The work is focused on the possibility of influencing the fatty acids composition of pork intramuscular fat using supplementation of different sources and different feeding techniques of unsaturated fatty acids in the feed in pigs. In the experiment, as a source of unsaturated fatty acids the supplement of the rapeseed or soybean oil was used. The results demonstrate that the above unsaturated fatty acid sources significantly changes the fatty acid composition of intramuscular fat.

Toxic smoke in the burning of selected substances, detection and protection intervening fire
ŠEBA, Jaroslav
Toxic products of combustion released by selected substances {--} their detection and the protection of firefighters I have opted to focus my Bachelor paper on this subject on the strength of my 20 years of working at the law-enforcing department of Fire Rescue Service; consequently, I am well aware of the difficulties that the firefigthers meet in their attempts at obtaining vital information. I have decided to investigate the subject and offer the results so that the fireman units could be properly trained. The paper is divided into several sections. The first aims to find out to what extent the units of the South Bohemian Fire Rescue Service are equipped with detection devices; the second examines the options of protection available to the firefighters in action; and the third section pays attention to the current standards of training given to the firefighting units deployed in the regional Service. The fourth section contains a comprehensive chapter on the noxious products of combustion, presenting available information on substances most often released in their burning. The next section provides a questionnaire survey designed to map the knowledgeability of firefighters and, to permit comparisons, also the awareness that the general public has of the substances and the toxicity of their combustion products. The chapter included to present evaluations and analyses starts with a description of materials to be ignited. The products of their burning were gathered using the Tenax tubes to be later analyzed in the laboratory. The lab analysis results are presented together with the major effects that the substances may have on human body. With the questionnaire survey evaluated, it became obvious that the firefighters were considerably better informed than the general public in all areas thus surveyed. Still, the incorrect answers returned by the freighters testify to a great deal of deficiencies that the system of training should address and regular training sessions of units should remedy. Excellent results were obtained for firefighters in action, since in most cases their level of protection was found higher than what was actually necessary. The level of knowledge encountered in the general public respondents proved to be below the average. Their awareness of hazards that the combustion products may pose for humans should be heightened (e.g. through a campaign able to provide information on the subject) since the products may be detrimental to the health of just anybody.

Perfomance management in hotel industry in the CR
Motyčka, Michal ; Hron, Jan (advisor) ; Macák, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this work is to propose effective changes in performance management in hotels in the Czech Republic. The thesis is focused on the employee performance. Performance management is a modern and effective approach to human resource management. This approach has evolved from the original classic staff evaluation and instruments such management by objectives. Unlike this classical tools, performance management is not focused on the past and finding the state, but is directed more to the future. It is a comprehensive, continuous and self-renewing process which includes the evaluation of workers, setting development plan and training, providing feedback and remuneration based performance. The emphasis in this process is placed on the evaluation of the workers and their personal development and remuneration. However, according to the recent research, staff remuneration is usually not based on track record. Although their performance is evaluated at least once a year and their personal development plans are not set. Deficiencies in performance management can also be found in the fact in that their personal development plans are not reviewed, adjusted. For the development of theoretical and empirical parts the methods of: analysis and synthesis were used. To determine the relevance of the respondents' views, the methods of observation, structured interview, questionnaire survey and statistical evaluation were used. On the basis of qualitative and quantitative research, the majority of hoteliers focus on evaluating the work of their staff, particularly through the evaluation interviews, MBO or mystery shopping. Personal development planning and remuneration based on performance is usually neglected. To increase the effectiveness of performance management in hospitality, frequent and shorter forms of assessment rather than traditional annual evaluation interviews are recommended. The conclusions obtained from the above studies suggest an emphasis on personal development and getting frequent feedback from employees during the period. The effective performance management should be focused more on salaries based on job performance, evaluation of employees and working approach. The performance salary should be included in most of the remuneration systems in hotels.

Fumarate hydratase as tumor suppressor
Kedrová, Kateřina ; Hansíková, Hana (advisor) ; Befekadu, Asfaw (referee)
1 Abstract Fumarate hydratase (fumarase, EC 4.2.1.2) catalyzes the reverse hydration of fumarate to S malate. In mammalian cells, it changes fumarate in the mitochondrial matrix as a part of the citric acid cycle and in the cytosol, where functions to metabolize fumarate the product of the degradation of some amino acids, of ammonia transformation to urea acid or of the purine nucleotide synthesis. . In human cells, fumarase is encoded by FH gene localized on chromosome 1 (1q42.1). The FH gene consists of 10 exons and encodes for a 510 amino acids-long protein including the N-terminal mitochondrial signal sequence. Germline heterozygous FH mutations were found in two autosomal dominant syndromes. These are multiple cutaneous and uterine leiomyomatosis (MCUL1 or MCL) and hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC). In the most of tumors from these patients, loss of FH gene heterozygosity was also found. It has been suggested that fumarase acts as a tumor suppressor according to Knudson's two-hit hypothesis. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to study the activity and amounts of fumarase in a series of 22 samples of uterine leiomyomas from 22 young women patients (21-31 years) with sporadic uterine leiomyomas. As a control sample, uterine leiomyoma from a 38-year-old patient was used. Activity of...
