Ownership of flats and non-residential premises in relation with Act No. 72/1994 Sb.
Holejšovská, Kateřina ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Švestka, Jiří (referee)
I dedicated my thesis to the matters of flat ownership in Czech Republic. I chose the topic not only because it is my area of interest, but also because it is an acute problem, which impacts more than 1.5 million of Czech citizens. During the 17-year existence of the legislation and despite 13 amendments of the legislation, its application is often unclear. In my opinion, the legislation lacks sufficient regulations of the following: the establishment of a unit owners association, ensuring a proper management of unit owners association executive organs. In addition, some institutes have not been legislated but only regulated by secondary legislation - a Model Article - that however does not have to be adhered to by a unit owners association. In many cases, vague regulations or issues that have not been legislated, had to be resolved by judgment. First chapter provides an overview of the subject and the scope of the Flat Ownership Act (Act) and its concept and correlation with other acts, particularly the Civil Code. The second chapter discusses various types of establishment of flat ownership. The third chapter discusses various types of abolishment of flat ownership, including expropriation. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the amendment of the Act and acquisition of legal personality, that is...
Risk factor's of prostate cancer
Plecháčková, Anna ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor)
Even though etiology of prostate carcinoma is still unknown, its occurrence is affected by many risk factors. The most important ones being: age, race, and familiar occurrence. Also dietary factors, especially increase intake of fats and dairy products, play its role. The role of other risk factors such as androgen influence, vasectomy, sexual activity and professional exposures to kadmium remains unclear. The knowledge of these risk factors is vital for prevention of prostate cancer.
Role of genetic variance in speciation
Payne, Pavel ; Markoš, Anton (advisor) ; Rueffler, Claus (referee)
Sympatric speciation has received much attention both empirically and theoretically. However, the contribution of sympatric speciation to biodiversity remains unclear. One piece missing from the speciation puzzle is the plausibility of sympatric ecological divergence of species through adaptation in polygenic traits. I consider an environment consisting of two niches, where one value of the trait is advantageous in only one niche, and vice versa. The selection regime is described by a trade-off in viabilities between the niches. These polygenic traits can, and often do, involve epistatic interactions among and between loci, so that the contribution of the alleles to viability deviates from additivity. Epistasis then also affects the curvature of the trade-offs: predominant less-than-additive epistasis turns the curve towards concavity and predominant more-than-additive towards convexity. The curvature of the trade-off plays a crucial role in the evolution of populations. With a convex trade- off, extreme values of the trait are favored and the population tends to diverge, but relatively stringent symmetry in strength of selection within the niches and the niche proportions is necessary to maintain polymorphism. In this study I use two and three- locus haploid versions of Levene's model to...
World of natural sciences and life world in Husserl's late work
Puc, Jan ; Novotný, Karel (advisor) ; Čapek, Jakub (referee)
The subject of this work is to map the relation between natural sciences and lifeworld on the ground of intentional-historical approach of late Husserl. The description of the problem of Galileo Galilei's foundation of science, its preconditions und consequences follows after an assignment of the main definitions and demonstrating of both arguments which Husserl uses to disprove objectivism. The idea of the mathematical nature establishing the modern physics indicates the necessity of brief clarification of the origin of geometry and philosophy as two motivating sense formations and the importance of the notion of "life-world apriori". In the following part I examine the notion of history which is a precondition of performed analyzes and the role of language in the process of sedimentation of sense. Critical discussion shows the ambiguous notion of the teleology of reason and the danger of confusion of an abstract understood life-world apriori with an overall interpretation of world. The main features of the life-world, the notion of science in the discussion between instrumentalism and science realism and Husserl's new scientism which should accomplish the idea of rational determination of mankind are summed up at the end of the work.
Biophysical characterization of the N-terminal part of protein kinase ASK1.
Honzejková, Karolína ; Obšil, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Jiří (referee)
Apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) is an apical kinase of the mitogen-activated protein kinase cascade. Its activity is triggered by various stress stimuli such as reactive oxygen species (ROS), cytokines, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress or osmotic stress resulting in the activation of p38 and c-Jun N-terminal kinase metabolic pathways and leading to inflammation or cell death. Dysregulation of ASK1 is linked to several pathologies such as neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases and cancer, which makes this protein a potential target of therapeutic intervention. The activity of ASK1 is regulated through protein-protein interactions with 14-3-3 proteins and thioredoxin1 being among the most important negative regulators and tumour necrosis factor receptor-associated factors being an example of positive regulators. Apart from that, ASK1 is also tightly regulated via oligomerization. Despite continual progress being made, the precise molecular mechanism of ASK1 regulation and the role of ASK1 oligomerization in this process still remains unclear to this day owing to the lack of structural data. Interaction of the N-terminal parts of two protomers of ASK1 dimer is one of the key steps in ASK1 activation. It was shown, that the isolated ASK1 catalytic domain (ASK1-CD) forms stable...
Chromatin immunoprecipitation of selected transcription factors
Smetanová, Jitka ; Vališ, Karel (advisor) ; Převorovský, Martin (referee)
The TEAD family of transcription factors regulates expression of genes affecting cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. The activity of a particular transcription factor called TEAD1 is regulated by the Hippo signalling pathway. The Hippo pathway has been implicated to play a role in cancer suppression, however its precise mechanism remains unclear. MYC and GLUT1, genes which are coding two key regulators of glycolysis, were recently described as potential targets of the Hippo signalling pathway in human leukemia cells. In this diploma thesis, I tried to confirm the proposed interaction of the transcription factor TEAD1 with regulatory sequences of MYC and GLUT1 genes using chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) analysis in human leukemic cells. However, I failed to successfully isolate TEAD1 complexes using ChIP. So, I discuss in my diploma thesis also possible reasons for this outcome, including biological and methodological issues. (In Czech) Key words: Transcriptional regulation, TEAD transcription factors, chromatin immunoprecipitation, leukemia
Mitochondria as a target for anti-cancer therapy
Monschizadeh Tehrany, Shahin ; Truksa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
Cancer is a complex disease that is characteristic by its heterogeneity in forms and symptoms. This diversity is caused by various mutations in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, which then makes cancer a very unclear and indistinct target. However numerous neoplastic characteristics are linked to the functions of mitochondria. This then makes mitochondria a center of interest of cancer research. Many cancer cells show the switch to the metabolism of aerobic glycolysis witch is characteristic by the increased glucose uptake, increased activity of biosynthetic pathways and lower oxidative capacity of mitochondria. Another mitochondria-linked modification is the increased production of reactive oxygen species in cancer cells, which are a source of new mutations and enhance cell proliferation. An increased transmembrane potential on the inner mitochondrial membrane is another very common feature that also promotes cell division and directly correlates with cancer malignancy. In this context a group of antitumor drugs called mitocans was discovered, that acts on the altered mitochondria of tumor cells. The activity of mitocans is ranging from the restoration of the function of pro-apoptotic molecules to the enforced cell death caused by oxidative damage done to the mitochondria of cancer cells....
'NERV' its functioning and activities towards government
Sršňová, Lucie ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Musílková, Markéta (referee)
This paper points out to ambiguous relationship between the government CR and The government's National Economic Council (NERV). The reason for such defined relationship was indefinite establishment of NERV as an advisory body in 2009; Government political instability and lack of government on socio-economic recommendations during the boom period. The members of NERV were one of the best experts in the field of economics, finance, banking etc. providing the advisory services voluntarily. The Council was working in two phases, the first phase (2009) during the Topolánek's reign and the second one (2010 - 2013) during the Nečas's reign. In case of the Topolánek's reign NERV was not statutorily established and its task was to find the solutions for the Czech Republic at the beginning of the economic recession. In case of the Nečas's reign, The Council was appointed by the government resolution. During the second phase of NERV, there was prepared a document for the Czech competitiveness strategy. This paper offers more detailed description of NERV in terms of the four selected comparable advisory bodies, as well as the analysis of the interviews with former members and assistants from NERV in connection with the analysis of government documents and materials. The marginal aim of this paper is to...
The Czech National Bank Communication and the Yield Curve
Karas, Pavel ; Horváth, Roman (advisor) ; Maršál, Aleš (referee)
This thesis analyzes the effect of the Czech National Bank's (CNB) communica- tion on the interest rate volatility (PRJBOR reference rate). Starting with the literature survey about the central bank communication in the world, I focus on the literature that concerns the CNB. To model the CNB's communication, I use the GARCH(l,1), EGARCH(l,1) and TARCH(l,1) models. I have created a unique data set containing the dummy variables for the CNB communication. The results are as follows: (a) the CNB's communication tends to decrease the volatility, (b) timing of the communication has a key role as the comments closer to the meeting have bigger calming effect, and that (c) there is no clear effect concerning the comments of the Bank Board members in the media. JEL Classification Keywords E43, E44, E52, E58 Czech National Bank, monetary policy signaling, central bank communication, the term structure of interest rates, GARCH analysis Author's email karasp@email.cz Supervisors's email roman. horvath@gmail.com
Herunterladen or downloaden? - A Contribution to the Analysis of the Morphosyntactic Integration of Some Selected Anglicisms into German
Brabcová, Romana ; Dovalil, Vít (advisor) ; Doležal, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the morphosyntactic properties of selected Anglicisms and methods for their integration into German. In the first part of this work the basic concepts are identified and defined. The second part examines the verbs, which were taken from the English language due to their formation, orthographic, phonetic, and especially morphosyntactic integration. Further described is the separability and inseparability of prefixes in current grammar books and dictionaries, as well as portability features of non-German prefixes. Attention is paid to the verb downloaden. On the basis of questionnaires, which were answered only by native speakers from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, as well as spontaneous situations and corpus analysis in digital German dictionaries, data was collected and analyzed. It describes the use and separability and inseparability of the prefix down. The criteria include the use of stylistic elements, binding the types of texts and genres in which the examined forms occur. The question remains whether the rules and separability and inseparability of foreign prefixes can be applied even on the verb downloaden? The findings suggest that the basis for the German word down is unclear and used as well as a separable but also as an inseparable verb.
