The success rate of implementing voting programs by the government parties in the years 2018-2021

This bachelor thesis aims to determine to what extent the governing parties ANO and ČSSD managed to fulfil their 2017 election programmes during the 2018-2021 electoral period. From the text of the election programmes, pledges were identified through content analysis, and each pledge was assigned to a category according to a thematic area. The results of the research showed that the ANO movement managed to fulfil 55% of all testable promises, while the ČSSD fulfilled only 36% of the promises from its election programme. The results also confirm the hypothesis based on the theoretical assumption of the functioning of the party mandate model in developed democracies, where holding the prime minister's seat leads to a higher rate of fulfilment of the electoral programme. It is this positive effect that has not been confirmed in the cases of previous elections. The paper identifies the covid-19 pandemic as one of the external factors that could have significantly affected the number of promises fulfilled.

The Reign of Marcus Aurelius: Stoicism in Political Decisions

The bachelor thesis focuses on the philosophy and government of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. The thesis aims to find out how Stoic philosophy influenced Marcus Aurelius and his political decisions. Although he is generally regarded as a representative of Stoicism, the first section of the thesis examines to what extent, or whether at all, he truly was a Stoic. This part begins with a description of Stoicism in general, followed by an introduction of two representatives of the Late Stoa, Seneca and Epictetus, whose thoughts the thesis draws on in the following sections. Their Stoic ideas are compared with the philosophical reflections of Marcus Aurelius, which are contained in his only philosophical book - Meditations. The thesis analyses the thoughts of the book in detail using qualitative content analysis. Based on this section dealing solely with philosophy, the first research question can be answered, i.e., to what extent Marcus Aurelius was a Stoic. In the second section, the thesis traces the important and controversial political decisions that Marcus Aurelius made during his reign. Thesis Media Image of the Government in 2012 is studying how media informed about the political issues within the researched period. Quantitative content analysis through daily newspapers Právo and Lidové noviny in 2012 was used. Theoretical part of the study is focused on the role of media in news reporting, news creation and influences that goes from media organizations and journalist's job. Corresponding theoretical concepts such as news values, accessibility of media, political communication, framing, agenda setting and journalist routines are mentioned. Practical part takes from various foreign research papers that deal with the similar topic. The goal of quantitative content analysis is to gain information on how media portrayed the government in 2012. It also looks at which sources were used and what topics were discussed.

Comparing of media image of Topolánek,Fischer and Nečas government in periodical Týden

The thesis deals with a compare of media image of Topolanek, Fischer and Necas government in periodical Tyden. I took two aims - first, to find out if any opinion inclination or political orientation is expressed in articles about Czech governments published in the periodical Tyden, second, to compare media image of all three governments among themselves and to trace potential differences. The theoretical section focuses on objectivity and bias, construction and representation. Substantial part of the theory is comprised of specific political communication and mediatisation together with trends in this field recognized in last decades. The empirical section is composed by quantitative analysis that compares representative articles and it is added by an content analysis of front pages of the periodical Tyden. Regardless of a fact, that the Jan Fischer government was very popular in public, the media picture of this particular government is rather negative comparing others. On the contrary there were found specific features showing that the Mirek Topolanek government was pictured more substantially. The role of private security agencies and their status in the labor market

The dissertation "The role of private security companies and their position in the labor market" focuses on a comprehensive assessment of the state of commercial security in the Czech Republic in terms of the legislation, which define their existence and activities. The main emphasis is on the state, as major customer security services - the dissertation examines the way in which they are purchased by the security services and the consequent impact on the commercial security market in the Czech Republic. The first part describes the theoretical and factual bases, which are necessary for the empirical part of the dissertation and interpretation of the findings. This is essentially a brief history of private security services, their typology and the role they occupy in the security system of our country and also about the current legislation, which regulates the activities of private security services. The research mainly uses the method of case study are explored individual "cases", fives tenders for the purchase of security services according to the "Law on public procurement", which are then processed into generalizing case studies. Internal Politics in Slovakia in 1994-1998 and its Foreign Policy Impacts

The aim of this thesis is an analytical view on the domestic policy of the Slovak republic between 1994-1998 in the context of its efforts to integrate in the European Union and NATO. The work primarily focuses on description of the undemocratic actions presented by the governmental coalition, which led Slovakia to disqualification from the integration process and caused country's international isolation. In the first part thesis deals with the personality of a three-times Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar, his rise to power and most important political events, that preceded the election victory of his party in October 1994. In the second part the work summarizes some of the key moments of his governance with a negative impact on a foreign policy, while the impact itself is assessed in the last part of the work.

Protectorate Governments and their Legislative Activities

Zusammenfassung Die Diplomarbeit "Die Protektoratsregierungen und ihren legislativen Tätigkeiten" zielt darauf ab, den Leser mit den Aktivitäten der einzelnen Protektoratsregierungen im zeitgenössischen Kontext und mit deren Gesetzgebungstätigkeit zwischen 15. 3. 1939 und 5.5.1945 vertraut zu machen. Die Arbeit ist in drei Teile gegliedert. Der erste Teil trägt den Titel "Historische Pfad zum Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren". Dieses Kapitel ist in zwei Teile geteilt. Der erste Teil beschäftigt sich mit dem Ende der zwanzigjährigen Existenz der Tschechoslowakei auf der Grundlage von Verhandlungen von vier europäischen Mächten auf der Münchner Konferenz. Das zweite Kapitel beschreibt die Entwicklung und die Wende in der Politik der neuen Regierung mit Orientierung auf Nazi-Deutschland. Im zweiten Kapitel "Anfang des Protektorats" werden in ihrem ersten Teil die Nachtverhandlungen von Emil Hácha in Berlin und die gleichzeitige Sitzung der Regierung in frühen Stunden des 15. Nuremberg trial and judicial proceedings with protectorate government in Czech press

In my bachelor thesis I deal with an analysis of the Nuremberg trial and judicial proceedings with protectorate government in the Czech press from October 1945 until October 1946. First I try to explain and describe the way to the Nuremberg trial and approximate the accused ones using professional literature. I did the same with the judicial proceedings with protectorate government. In this bachelor thesis I describe the most important acts for a rise of a tribunal in Nuremberg. I derive a description of a statute of a court and points of indictment from the professional literature. The process is described in articles from a period printing and the information is folded by the professional literature. I choose the same procedure and style in the second part of my bachelor thesis with the process with the protectorate government. The aim of my thesis is to analyze articles in the periodic press - Rudé Právo, Svobodné slovo, Lidová demokracie, Právo lidu, to compare a prejudice, style and a form of informing of an individual press
