The family and its depiction in the past and present

The family is the center of interest in contemporary society, which approaches it socially, politically and philosophically in different ways, especially the current social and interpersonal situation. It has long been one of the valuable subjects of art. Its depiction has a long history and never-ending inspirational power. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the topic of the family, its position from a sociological and historical point of view, as well as its depiction across the art of the past and present. Specific artists of the past who worked with the theme of family, were inspired or depicted their own family are listed here in more detail. It also includes modern and contemporary art, their different approach and grasp of the theme of family. The didactic part deals with how to sensitively approach this topic to today's children's audience and integrate it into art education lessons. In the practical part, I work with the theme of family, a kind of album will be created, a collection of works that are closely connected with my own family. A set of drawings, photographs, collages supplemented with incidents or statements of individual family members. The whole album will form a kind of complete picture of my family. The bachelor's thesis "View of women in Paul Gauguin's paintings" consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part enjoys the life of Paul Gauguin with a focus on his relationships with women. It represents Gauguin's life from early childhood, through a visit to Tahiti, to his death. Further interpretation of Gauguin's work from the Tahitian period and exploring the influences of relationship artists on his work. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis deals with creation of two paintings with the theme "woman at rest". Her sources of inspiration earn from theoretical parts.
The Role of Visual Components in English Language Teaching Textbooks and in Teaching Methods from Diachronic Point of View

This thesis is concerned with visual components in English language teaching textbooks. The theoretical part presents basic types and functions of visual components and also deals with four language teaching methods, their development, principles that they are based on and techniques which are used during lessons. On the basis of findings from the theoretical part there are analysed four books. Each of them corresponds with one of the language teaching methods mentioned in the theoretical part. The analyses are supported with typical visual components from the textbook. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate to what extent is the typical usage of visual components from each method beneficial for teaching languages nowadays.

The work examines the relationship between real space and imaged space, their visual appearance and interrelatedness. It solves the question of the world of subjective and objective, real and imaginary. It places human in the role of actor, creator and viewer who interacts with the space through artistic creation. It briefly describes the development of various artistic tendencies dealing with landscape creation in context of conjunction of around me and looks for examples from selected authorities of the art world from the past and present, which it compares with each other. The artistic part consists of a closed set of acrylic paintings depicting the personal world of the author, while each of them is given an individual meaning with reference to the narrative, time and space component. The paintings are further investigated and subjected to consideration that characterizes their creation and meaning. The didactic part of the work presents a proposal for an art assignment for high school students aged fifteen, describes possible procedures and prerequisites for its appropriate fulfillment, followed by examples of eventual outputs. Figural painting in hanging picture

A content of the bachelor thesis is a theoretical reflection about possibilities of a painted depiction of a human figure and a phenomenon of a hanging picture. The theme of the figural painting is further applied to an educationally-therapeutic practice as an art activity subject for people with mental retardation. The work also contains a documentation of the author's own painting and its reflection. This thesis deals with photographs in the printed media among the elections to the lower chamber of the Czech Parliament during 2Q 2006 and 2Q 2010. The main focus is picture of the politicians and the political parties. In the theoretical part of the thesis we sum up the main aspects of the media ahead of the elections and the publishing of photographs. We observe news factors, agenda setting, framing, spiral of silence, technical aspects of photography or manipulation possibilities. The practical part brings the analysis of the photographs in the home news pages of the in the four most-read broadsheet daily newspapers and another daily newspaper that is published by a political party. The analysis sample comprises all issues of the dailies in the period of five weeks ahead of the elections in the years 2006 and 2010. The data were analyzed by means of the quantitative content analysis. For this analysis we used up to 20 parameters. The quantified data were then analyzed by the SPSS and PASW statistical software. Multilevel analysis was also applied. The rigorous thesis The Picture of the Media in the Czechoslovak Film from 1930 to 1949 presents the role of the media and their representatives in the Czechoslovak feature pictures released from 1930 to 1949. Its aim was to introduce the picture of the media in these two decades as well as to describe how this picture was influenced by the technological, social, and political changes in this period. The second purpose of the thesis was to present how the cinematography was connected with the contemporary journalists, both Czechoslovak and foreign ones. The opening part of the thesis defines the analyzed pictures and the reasons of their enlistment into the analysis - the presentation of the media (the press, the radio, the press agency, the newsreel, and developing television) or their representatives. The pictures were divided into two selective sets. The primary analysis contains the pictures with significant representation of the media. The secondary analysis contains the pictures with marginal representation of the media. Instructive Picture in the Fundaments of Humanities and Sciences and its Historical Perspective

This diploma thesis was written in cooperation with the National Pedagogical Museum and Library of J. A. Comenius in Prague. It deals with the vast area of instructive pictures and especially with their potential use in teaching elementary school pupils science, mainly in the second year of elementary schools. The diploma thesis seeks to determine the significance of the instructive picture in its historical perspective, to state whether even nowadays the instructive picture is still a valid teaching aid in teaching of sciences in the educational process. The first, theoretical part of the thesis, the basic concepts concerning the instructive picture, didactic means and the so important psychological approach to perception of pictorial materials are determined. A considerable part of the thesis focuses on the historical development of the school instructive picture in general and on its development in sciences in particular. Also included is a thorough study of the teaching process with the use of rare instructive pictures in the past and the current aims of teaching sciences at present are presented.
