Communication with parents about their children´s special needs

The bachelor thesis deals with pedagogical diagnostics carried out in common kindergartens and the moment when the teacher suspects that the development of one of the children deviates from the norm. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the research part. In the theoretical part the aim was to define the basic terms related to the topic of the work - especially pedagogical diagnostics, pedagogical communication. In the research part I describe how kindergarten teachers carry out pedagogical diagnostics and how they communicate with the parents if there is any suspicion of diverging child development.
Diagnostic use of drawings by children aged 5-6 in kindergarten (comparing drawings in terms of right-handedness and left-handedness).

The bachelor thesis deals with the diagnostic use of the drawing in kindergarten in children aged 5-6 years, compares the drawings from the point of view of rightness and left-handedness. It describes the characteristics of a pre-school child and summarizes the development of its personality in the physical, mental and social spheres. In part of the theoretical part, the work is generally familiar with the education of a child in kindergarten. The specifics of pre-school education and school maturity and readiness are elaborated in more detail. The core part describes the characteristic features of rendering of the drawing in pre-school age and defines the individual stages of drawing development. The research part of the thesis focuses on the drawing of children in kindergarten. Specifically for the analysis of children's drawings, which provides a closer look at understanding the child's artistic expression before entering elementary school. The bachelor thesis draws attention to the deferment of left-handed children and their number in kindergarten. The aim of the work is to follow and then evaluate the expressions from the point of view of the correctness and the left-handiness of the children before the beginning of the compulsory school attendance. Differences between the homogenous and heterogenous classes arranged at maternity schools, plus the influence of these arrangements on the child's preparedness to enter the first grade of elementary school.

Résumé This thesis deals with finding differences between homogeneously and heterogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and their influence on the readiness of a child to enter the first class in elementary school. The theoretical part focuses on school maturity and readiness, general characterization of a pre-school child before entering the first class in elementary school, differences between heterogeneously and homogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and finally on a child's preparedness for the compulsory education. The practical part shows the results of a research carried out by the means of an author's test of school maturity method and a questionnaire. The research sample consisted of children of pre-school age before entering elementary schools from heterogeneous and homogeneous nursery school classes and pedagogues from nursery and elementary schools. The main objective of this research was to find out which children are better prepared for entering elementary school, whether from homogeneous or heterogeneous classes in nursery schools. Using Montessori learning materials for teaching persons with Down syndrome

This thesis examines how can Montessori teaching aids be used for educating persons with Down syndrome. It describes Down syndrome and mental disability that is associated with it, listing also the options for educating persons with Down syndrome by development stage. It provides an overview of Montessori pedagogics, its history, concepts and principles, and its status in the Czech Republic. It classifies Montessori pedagogics in terms of general didactics theory, and introduces Montessori therapy. The author connects Montessori to other human- centric didactic and pedagogical systems, such as structured teaching, global reading approach, Reuven Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment, sensory activation, basal stimulation, and psychobiography. She explains the role of teaching aids in the Montessori system and describes the materials she is using in her lessons for persons with Down syndrome. The aim and structure of such lessons are described, together with how to work with clients and their families. Assessment of school readiness in the areas of visual and auditory perception

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity in the field of visual and auditory perception and its diagnostics in children in the last year of pre-school education. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the development of the pre-school child and the conception of pre-primary education, the concepts of school maturity and readiness, risk factors of school failure, deferment of compulsory school attendance, partial functions and deficits of partial functions. Furthermore, the possibilities of diagnostics of phonological and visual perception and other methods of evaluation of the functions, which make the acquisition of school skills successful, are described. Also mentioned is the enrollment of a child into the first grade of elementary school. The objective of the empirical part is to find out whether it is possible to contribute to their maturation by regular stimulation of the partial functions in the field of visual and auditory perception in preschool children, thus improving the readiness of children to enter primary school. The topic of thesis is a study of artphiletics approach to aftercare aimed at children with specific learning and behavior disorders, especially ADHD, conducted simultaneously in art lessons. The introductory part to find review deals with specific learning disabilities and behavioral disorders, especially ADHD, ie. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Possible causes and manifestations. It also points to the psychosocial aspects of specific learning disabilities and ADHD. Another section deals with pedagogical diagnosis, follow-up care for children with learning disabilities and ADHD monitored areas and remedial care. Mention is a component of visual expression of a child in the diagnosis and follow-up care. Connection between social skills teaching and classmates relationshipsde

Summary: This dissertation is aiming to find the connection between clasroom relationships development and regular social skills teaching. Specifically if social skills teaching creates positive development within students relationships and if it influences better classroom climate. The teoretical part defines the concept of pedagogical diagnostics, its methods and forms, especially focused on educational - research sociomethry, sociomethric methods and techniques. In the end of theoretical part is described educational program CESTY with subject ‚Social skills focused on the developement of positive relationships between students with ADHD, ADD issues. The empiric part is built on research which was made using sociomethric - rating questionnare of Vladimír Hrabal (S-O-R-A-D). This questionnare was used in three fifth year of elementary school classes for children with specific issues and in three regular elementary school classes. Rating of the results using sociomethric indexes and sociograms is the base for comparing the development of relationships in classes with ADHD students, where the social skills are taught regularly, and three regular classes without this subject. The questionnary was set twice in every class, first time at the beginning of school year and second time at the end of first mid-year.
Communication competences in kindergarten curriculum

The thesis focuses on a concept of communicative competences in the curricula at the stage of pre-school education and introduces the possibilities of development of these competences in kindergarten. The theoretical part outlines issues of curriculum, key competences and communicative competences in the context of pre-primary education. The research is a presentation of qualitative-quantitative research, which aimed to analyze the concept of communicative competences in the curricula of kindergartens and based on direct observation to find out, how kindergarten teachers meet the communicative competences at this stage of education, how to diagnose them and what opportunities provides kindergarten environment to develop pre-school children communication competences. Based on the analysis of curriculum documents of selected kindergartens we found that schools include communicative competences in their conceptual materials and attach great importance to them, even if these documents have different content and formal level. Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany

Diploma thesis "Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany" deals with survey of the region of Říčany with respect to opinions and experience of kindergarten and primary school teachers. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part contains information on delay school attendance issues necessary for successful realisation of a pedagogical research. The practical part is focused on answering of defined survey questions and on verification or falsification of the hypothesis. The research is based on the quantity method of questioning (by means of questionnaire and interview) and qualitative method of observation. The survey took place at 24 kindergartens and 7 primary schools taking into account 54 kindergarten teachers and 15 primary school teachers in the region of Říčany. It was found out, that the number of delayed school attendance in the region of Říčany is lower than the average value in the entire Czech Republic. Further, kindergarten and primary school teachers agree, that children often have problems with communication and concentration. Other important findings are that teachers don't feel any difference between children with and without delayed school attendance; they have individual approach to children on the basis of their abilities and needs.
