Possibilities of Using Career Guidance and Counseling in Elementary School

This diploma thesis entitled "Possible Use of Career Counseling in Secondary school" focuses primarily on the possible way of introduction of career counseling into secondary schools that are within the czech standard eduacational system. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze both the possibilities of use and ways of realization of career counseling in secondary schools, which is now provided primarily within educational counseling. Aim of the thesis was, based on given research assumptions, to analyze opinions of both students and educational counselor on the level of services provided by the career counseling in secondary school. The first part of the thesis will discuss terms related to the area of career counseling and professional orientation of students. It will also analyze occupation selection theories and career development of students, aspects of counseling process, and it will also list knowledge about adolescence period. There will also be identified those subjects and institutions providing career counseling servises that are situated in the Czech Republic. Volunteering as the Way to Start a Career

The influence of volunteering on the career of young people in the Czech environment represents an unexplored area of research. This diploma thesis is searching for the answer if volunteering experience and competencies acquired during volunteer activities can affect the start of a career of young people. Particular attention is also paid to social capital and to persons whose activities in the organization push volunteers forward in a professional sense and share new contacts useful for career. The theoretical basis includes the theory of social capital, signal theory, career path theory, and career anchor theory. Design work is qualitative research. The source of the data are semi- structured interviews with ten participants who have experience in volunteering and currently can provide their own opinion on the impact of volunteering on their careers. The financial plan evaluates the economic success of the proposed business. Subsequently, the results of the work are useful as a basis for the company executives as well as for product and service creators.

The aim of the thesis is to present the roles of the pedagogical consultant at primary school and high school. The theoretical part is focused on term the educational consultant (regarding legislation, requirements for education). The thesis is occupied with history of educational consultancy, the content of the work of educational consultant, the cooperation with pedagogical and psychological counseling. The practical part is implemented by the qualitative research.The research consists of the dialogues with educational consultants from primary school and secondary school. It studies their job duties,the content of their job, the most common topics and educational difficulties and their solving.

Following bachelor's thesis is devoted to methodological aspects of the career counseling. It deals with the terminological discussion of counseling-related concepts and its areas of application in the context of adult education. The thesis is focused on a counseling process, structure, tools and specifics in career counseling. It provides an analysis of wide range of counseling tools from basic counseling techniques to specific digital and complex means. Practical implementation of the tools is illustrated with a case study within which two counseling programs for the long-term unemployed are compared. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of career, its historical development and current conceptions of career. Further it deals with the topic of career counseling, its historical development and some key concepts and approaches. One of areas where can be career counseling applied is organizational context. Career counseling is a part of a wider career support that can be provided by organizations to their employees. Bachelor thesis summarize how can be career counseling in organizations utilized, which are its goals in the organizational context and how it relates to another activities of career management. Applied part of the thesis proposes the project of the research with the objective of developing a questionnaire that could measure the need of the use of the career counseling within organizations.

Choice of secondary school as prevention of unemployment

The aim of the diploma thesis was to discover the main factors which influence students of the ninth grade regarding the choice of next education level. Analysis was made to decide how important the factors are for students when they choose studies, e.g. results of students at half year report and the distance between school and place of living, also whether students can assess their condition for profession of their choice, if students have thought about their future regarding life and profession. Also analysis of social surroundings was made to find out to what extent students are influenced by family, friends, teachers and pedagogical - psychological consultants. I am tried to clarify how the education level of parents, wishes of parents and friends influence students and whether this choice is influenced by teachers and educational consultants or by pedagogical - psychological consultants. The whole thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with description of basic concepts. The concepts are linked with problematic of employment of youth and school graduates. A choice of career as the prevention of unemployment

The bachelor thesis focuses on unemployment problems of school graduates from primary schools, high schools and universities. It is interested in employers' views on the exploitation of school graduates in the job market and gives information about consulting services in the educational system and employment. I mention the changes of amendment in consulting services at job centres. At the end of my bachelor thesis I compare differences between girls' and boys' approaches to education and their first employment. I find some parents' influence on their children's choice of careers.

Thesis Career Counseling, as a part of a general system of counseling at high schools, deals with diverse approaches towards professional preparation at high schools. Any help, with making a right decision of choosing a career or continuing in studies, is undoubtedly an important source for each person at high school and has been occupying this distinctive role in education. This thesis is trying to bring about the changing of the position of Career Counselor's within the school system, in a general system of counseling. The goal of this thesis is to cover the various subjects' conception of counselors at high schools and also trying to entitle their targets in connection with reality. At the end there will be given a description and clarification of three different high schools (each with different cultural and social-economic conditions) and their correspondences towards Career counseling in cooperation with the content analyses of the subjects' conceptions of Career counseling.
