Sports training beach volleyball player in the annual training plan
Vaňková, Tereza ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Jahodová, Gabriela (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis called "Sport training of a beach volleyball player within the framework of 1 year-long training plan" is to determine basic information about an individual performance preparation process and its parts, i.e. about physical and fitness preparation, technical, tactical, and psychological preparation. This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical (research) part. The theoretical part is focused on description of particular activities of sport performance preparation that are commonly used in beach volleyball training. The second part of the thesis is dealing with results of a questionnaire and describes main differences in the preparation activities used among the beach volleyball community. The research results show that in the sport preparation most of the time (70 %) is dedicated to fitness (condition) training. Very important part of every training session is the development of physical abilities, mainly speed (33 %). Only 18 % of the players have visited a sport psychologist at least once in their lifetime and even only 27 % of these respondents have a regular cooperation with such psychologist. Moreover, the research results show that 67 % of the respondents do not cooperate with any nutrition specialist, they prefer to prepare...

Prerequisites for successful participation of Czech football clubs in European competitions
Pártl, Matěj ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Přibyl, Ivan (referee)
The thesis is focused on identifying the basic assumptions for successful participation of Czech Football clubs in European competitions. One of the main motivations is the financial reward resulting from participation in European competitions. Basic assumptions are found in the team axis and their representative experience in team selection U16-U21, in the ideal age average of the basic assemblies, opponents' playability from the point of view of their nationality and an estimate of the progress of Czech teams in future years against teams by nationality. The results of the thesis clearly show that if the assumptions mentioned above are fulfilled separately the possibilities of success for the Czech teams are small. It is really important to combine these assumptions in one complex at the same time. There is not calculated with the influences we can not predict but may significantly affect the results in the competition . It is possible to estimate the success or failure of Czech teams in European team competitions from the result of this work.
Convolutional neural networks and their application in object detection
Hrinčár, Matej ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor) ; Pešková, Klára (referee)
1 Title: Convolutional neural networks and their application in object detection Author: Matej Hrinčár Department: Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Iveta Mrázová, CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: Iveta.Mrazova@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Nowadays, it has become popular to enhance live sport streams with an augmented reality like adding various statistics over the hockey players. To do so, players must be automatically detected first. This thesis deals with such a challenging task. Our aim is to deliver not only a sufficient accuracy but also a speed because we should be able to make the detection in real time. We use one of the newer model of neural network which is a convolutional network. This model is suitable for proces- sing image data a can use input image without any preprocessing whatsoever. After our detailed analysis we choose this model as a detector for hockey players. We have tested several different architectures of the networks which we then compared and choose the one which is not only accurate but also fast enough. We have also tested the robustness of the network with noisy patterns. Finally we assigned detected pla- yers to their corresponding teams utilizing K-mean algorithm using the information about their jersey color. Keywords:...
Working with a storyline in computer games
Valentová, Simona ; Mocná, Dagmar (advisor) ; Klumparová, Štěpánka (referee)
The bachelor thesis with the topic "Working with a storyline in computer games" consists of two parts. The first part defines and explains necessary terms which are connected with the narrative methods or playing computer games. There is also described how the story works and its parts in general, relevant game and literary genres. This part also references to some scientific approaches, which have already been applied to the narrative components of computer games. Second part of the bachelor thesis is dedicated to analysis, interpretation and comparison of two particular computer games according to defined theoretic findings. These games are World of Warcraft and The Black Mirror, which are different almost in all aspects, thus they are suitable for showing their various working with the story. This bachelor thesis tries to show a specific conception of the story within the computer game, which is considered as a separate medium.

The main topics of this part are the identification of a player with a game character, the relationship of a player with a game character and also the topic of gender in the game environment. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the work focuses directly on LGBTQ gamers. In this part, the theory focuses on the diversity and representation of the LGBTQ minority and their importance in games and the gaming community. It presents in...

Šíma, Ondřej ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
TITLE Influence of specialized speed training on the development of speed in a U15 football player. AUTHOR Ondřej Šíma DEPARTMENT Department of physical education SUPERVISOR PaedDr. Ladislav Pokorný ABSTRACT This thesis focuses on the analysis of speed skills and their improvement in U15 soccer players, using a monthly specialized speed program. The first part of the thesis contains a detailed review of the necessary theoretical background. From the basics of general and soccer training to information specifically focused on the development of speed abilities in players in this age category. In the second part, independent research is conducted. The research involves speed testing and subsequent analysis of players' speed ability. Subsequently, the improvement of the players after undergoing a month-long specialized speed training is analyzed and compared to players who did not participate in this program and underwent a regular preparation period. The main outcome of this work should be to find out if the monthly specialized speed training has a greater impact on speed development than the regular preparation period. KEY WORDS speed, player, football, training, preparation period
