How will we grow up together?

My diploma thesis is based on my pre-diploma project called “How will we live together?”. The project was a collaboration of the whole atelier (collective), the result of our work was theoretical concept and urbanistic arrangement. We have done research and defined these terms: reciprocity, globalization and sustainability. Afterwards, we have applied our research on our solved area of the former sugar refinery in Šlapanice. The aim of our concept was to break the borders between the young and the old generation and between the individuals and the families. The concept was questioning the conventional lifestyle. Therefore, our urbanistic design was miscellaneous and was also helping to connect people of different ages. In the end, we had three questions to answer: How will we live together? How will we work together? And finally, how we grow up together. The last one has become the subject of my diploma thesis. The aim of my thesis is to design the draft of a kindergarten conjoined with housing for seniors. The designed complex should encourage people to interact. It should be a place to spend time together, create an intergenerational social network, and make the communities more attractive. It is not just about connecting seniors and children, but also about creating a community. The project is also concerned about a sustainable future in harmony with nature, because it can solve many world problems.

Figural painting in hanging picture

A content of the bachelor thesis is a theoretical reflection about possibilities of a painted depiction of a human figure and a phenomenon of a hanging picture. The theme of the figural painting is further applied to an educationally-therapeutic practice as an art activity subject for people with mental retardation. The work also contains a documentation of the author's own painting and its reflection. The truth of future contingent propositions as a logical and philosophical problem

According to some logicians and philosophers, future contingent propositions pose a specific problem. Many of those who look into this problem now and those who looked into it (even hundreds) years ago, refer to Aristotle. Nevertheless not in agreement. Our aim is to give an overview of traditional and non-traditional interpretations of the part of Aristotle's work which deals with this issue. On the basis of their comparison we will try to uncover what causes the variety of readings. That will allow us to assess whether the truth of future contingent propositions really is a specific problem and what is its actual nature.

Russia's Pivot to Asia: prospects and limits

Russia's pivot to Asia has become one of the highly discussed topics among political and international relations theorists. However, diverse opinions exist on the timeframe of the pivot and on the level of favourable results of the new policies of Russia's turn to the East. Mostly, Russia is thought to be intensifying its relations with countries of the Asia-Pacific region, increasingly since the Western trade sanctions were applied on Russia after the 2014 Ukraine crisis. Academic discussion also revolves around Russia's opportunities and challenges in the region. Progressive cooperation, mainly with China, is suggested due to the growing importance of Asia and its countries: China's rapidly rising economy and military strength has made the country into a candidate for the most important world powers. On the other hand, development and modernisation of Siberia and Russia's Far East region would be necessary for efficient maintenance of any progressive relations with Asian countries. Russia would have to develop its infrastructure in the regions to enable connection and cooperation with China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Among all potential partners in Asia, China is mostly indicated as the most probable and suitable economic and political partner for Russia in the region....

The Outer Space Treaty in the Context of 21st Century

THE OUTER SPACE TREATY IN THE CONTEXT OF 21ST CENTURY ABSTRACT The Outer Space Treaty is the fundamental legal document of space law and this year it celebrates 50 years since its adoption. Questions are being raised among the international community about the relevance of the Treaty in the context of 21st century mostly given the completely different conditions at the time of its adoption and at present. Reasons for such a debate is the current development in the field of space and technology, which is not covered by the Outer Space Treaty or any other relevant binding convention. New possibilities to explore space are emerging, especially among the private actors and activities vary given its nature, from commercial to military. And within the 50 years these new options also slowly contribute to serious environmental problems, which were not of such importance and priority as they are now. Besides these issues, the space law is characterized by its high fragmentation and no common standard for national legislation in this field. Given these challenges the scholars and specialist agree, that the contemporary legislation does not provide a necessary framework to ensure the peaceful use of space and its future safety. Notional ambivalence in the work of Scottish writer Alasdair Gray Translation and stylistic analysis

This BA thesis is concerned with the translation of A history maker, a novel by Alasdair Gray and interpretation and analyses of the methods of translation which were used. It is divided into two parts. The first one is the translation itself which is the main part. The second part deals with the analyses of the translation and methodology that was applied. It focuses on the translation of Scottish dialect and informal speech. The thesis is predominantly aimed at demonstrating some standard translation approaches and practices, using the chosen textual material.

Historical Development, The Present and Prospective Development Trends of Nonprofit Organisations in the Czech Republic

The non-profit sector in the Czech Republic has undergone a significant transformation over the last 120 years. This thesis describes the beginnings of the non-profit sector, its heyday in the First Republic period, as well as the period of decline during the Second World War. Equally, how the civil society developed in the 1970s, on which basis the non-profit sector is built today. The diploma thesis depicts the role of civil society within the non-profit sector, issues and difficulties of the non-profit sector in The Czech Republic and explains to the reader the typology and problems of terminology for the non-profit sector. The last segment of the theoretical part deals with the prospective trends in the non-profit sector, and then in an empirical survey, tries to determine whether we can observe the onset of these promising trends in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis contains two types of research in this direction: quantitative and qualitative.

Current trends in the airline industry

Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat současné trendy v leteckém průmyslu a nastínit předpokládaný budoucí vývoj v této oblasti. Úvod práce začíná stručným shrnutím historie letectví, které je následováno krátkým popisem současného leteckého průmyslu. Další kapitola se zabývá ekologickými technologiemi a udržitelností letectví se zaměřením na 3D tisk, ekologické letecké palivo a 2 rozdílné typy proudového motoru: LEAP od společnosti CFM a Geared turbofan od Pratt&Whitney. Následuje třetí kapitola s přehledem bezpečnostních technologií ve které je popsán systém GPWS, senzory snímající kontaminaci ranveje a automatizace. Další kapitola se pak zabývá aktuálními změnami v technologiích údržby, způsobenými rostoucím trendem Internetu věcí. Poslední kapitola čtenáři odhaluje předpokládaný budoucí vývoj leteckého průmyslu.

Hope and Reality Clashing. Existential problems of parents in self-determination of their offsprings with intellectual disabilities.

The thesis deals with the issue of the independence of people with intellectual disabilities from parents. The aim of the thesis is to map the way of adulthood of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of the life story from the point of view of their mothers, including perspectives and prospects for the future. The thesis tries to answer the question: Why do parents postpone the planning and realization of their children's independence to their late age? The central theme how parents deal with the consequences of their children's intellectual disabilities throughout their lives and the confrontation of hope and reality in the field of self-esteem, human relationships and partnerships of intelectuall disabled people. The research method is the analysis of life curves and interviews with the use of grounded theory. The work compares a group of mothers of persons with moderate intellectual disabilities and a group of mothers of persons with mild intellectual disabilities. The results show qualitative differences in the problems of both groups. In the case of mothers of persons with moderate intellectual disabilities, there is a dilemma about protected housing, in the case of the mothers of person with mild intellectual disabilities, there is a dilemma about the child's partnership.
