Crime of women in Czechoslovakia

The thesis deals with the crime of women in Czechoslovakia. The aim of the theoretical and empirical work is to map the crime of women in Czechoslovakia, namely its occurrence, and to use selected case studies to find out the motives of women perpetrators, who were victims, and apply selected theories of crime to specific cases. In the theoretical part will be introduced basic theories and concepts related to crime , from the sociological, psychological and biological point of view. Given that the work focuses primarily on female crime, the next section will specifically focus on the specificities of female crime and define the types of female criminals with the motives behind the crime, especially with a focus on murder. The last part of the theoretical part is focused on how crime was measured not only in the period of Czechoslovakia, but also how it is measured today, and where it is possible to get information about this social phenomenon. The empirical part of the thesis is devoted to the research itself, in which both qualitative and quantitative data were used. Methodology for Investigation of Robbery

The main goal of this thesis is complete description of all typical aspects of methodology for investigation of robbery, including ilustration of all the specifics, that distinguish this methodology from other investigative methodologies. The thesis is divided into five chapters, which are related and organized mostly according to the model of the criminological publications. The first chapter deals with a crime of robbery from the point of view of criminal law. The first subchapter describes the historical progression of the legal regulation of this crime from antiquity to the present. The second subchapter is focused on the current legislation, which is contained in the Criminal Code. The second chapter is focused on robbery from the point of view of criminology. In the first subchapter is characterized a typical criminal situation, according to the aspects of the crime scene, the time of committing robbery and the character of the object under attack. The second subchapter describes typical ways of committing robberies, focusing on acts committed with a firearm. Sherlock Holmes and Father Brown: Two Heroes and Two Ways of the Detective Novel

The bachelor thesis focuses on a comparative analysis of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's and Gilbert Keith Chesterton's detective stories. Above all it concentrates on the overall characteristics of two main detective heroes Sherlock Holmes and father Brown. Separate chapters contain a short biography of both Doyle and Chesterton. The origin and the development of the detective genre is also a part of the thesis, as well as the founders and the main protagonists of the genre.

Crime and Punishment Sicilian Style in Prose of a Contemporary Italian Writers-Journalists

The aim of this thesis is to show the current Italian authors work specifics who are asserted as journalists as well as writers and their journalistic and prosaic outputs is devoted to organized crime in today's Sicilian society. Roberto Alajmo, Gaetano Savatteri and Salvo Sottile and their literaty outputs È stato il figlio, Tempo Niente. La breve vita felice di Luca Crescente, Gli uomini che non si voltano, I ragazzi di Regalpetra, Maqeda and Più scuro di mezzanotte were chosen for an analysis. The criterion in choosing works was particularly a time span of its formation - for the first time they were published after 2005 and at the same time they are mostly the newest literary outputs of selected authors meeting the requirements. Particular authors are presented after an opening which is describing logical interrelationship between writers and journalists in history of Italian literature ever since the unification of Italy in 1870 and deals with history of Sicilian Mafia and Sicilian literature concerning a phenomenon of Mafia. Crime and Punishment in the Eyes of Cesare Beccaria An Analysis of an Enlightenment Penal Law Reform The Ph.D. dissertation is centred around a relatively concise, but extremely influential book: Cesare Beccaria's treatise On Crimes and Punishments (Dei delitti e delle pene). This work, first published in 1764, sums up in a clear, yet intellectually penetrating way all the main Enlightenment principles of a complex penal law reform. In its time, the book was not only of great philosophical importance and it not only changed the way western societies perceived crime and punishment, but it also served as a concrete guideline for various penal law reformers. It is therefore by no means an overstatement to say that it caused a true paradigm shift in both legal and moral philosophy. The main aim of the thesis is to give a legal-philosophical account of Beccaria's thoughts on crime and punishment, to examine their historical as well as moral background and show the actual impact they had on the legislation of many different, mainly European states. The build-up of a plot in Josef Skvorecky's tetralogy about lieutenant Boruvka

The scope of the thesis is the description of plot in the open tetralogy of Josef Škvorecký about the lieutenant Josef Borůvka which was published between 1966-1981. We examine the extent to which the rules characteristic for detective stories are complied with in the series and how passages devoted to private life of main characters relate to the investigation of the cases. Theoretically we draw from professional literature about the detective genre (especially Škvorecký, Sýkora, Todorov) and the literature about the author (Kosková, Trenský). We describe contexts of the tetralogy with other proses of Josef Škvorecký as well.

Criminal Proceedings against Legal persons

Chovanec, Š. Criminal proceedings against legal entities Criminal proceedings against legal entities represent a significant innovation for Czech criminal procedure law. Adoption of Act nř 418/2011, about Criminal liability of legal entities and criminal proceedings against them, is considered as acceptance of the world's phenomenon of enactment of the institute of Criminal liability of legal entities. The lawmaker had chosen a special regulation for criminal proceedings against legal entities which however does not describe the issues solely. So the Penal Code is considered subsidiary applicable regardless it does regulate criminal proceedings against a natural person. The author of this text deals with risks and potential problems connected to this construct. The author of this text describes selected aspects of criminal proceedings against legal entities from its beginning to the enforcement proceeding.

The Russian Speaking Organized Crime - international modernization and international expansion

This work attempts to characterize internal modernization and international expansion of Russian speaking organized crime. Special emphasis is placed on the main stages of development of organized crime in the Soviet Union and its current state primarily in Russia and Ukraine. The paper proffer the new definition of modern forms of organized crime and different characteristics of regimes as for the relations between the state and organized crime (criminal syndicalism, mafia, state kleptocracy). The paper characterizes different types of international expansion of Russian speaking groups (regional expansion, global retirement and emigration). In this regard, research was focused primarily on the activities of the Russian speaking organized crime groups in the EU and the Czech Republic. In the last phase of the work I focused my research on some important measured how to reduce risk in the current conditions. Though the work is primarily devoted to organized crime from the CIS countries, it should be noted, modernization of organized crime everywhere in the world takes place by a similar manner. It was therefore necessary to briefly address the wider contextual issues. Working so many places highlights some aspects of the development of organized crime in Italy, USA , Czech Republic, Japan and China.
