Underground culture – adaptation of an old brewery in Litovel
Dohnal, Jakub ; Štukheil, Petr (referee) ; Koleček, Ivan (advisor)
Wonders happen behind the wall. The townspeople and people from the surrounding area are curious, so they head out to see what‘s really going on there. They literally find themselves in a new world. Culture flourishes, crafts are revived, stories of books are told and people eager for knowledge are taught. But the big news is that the city‘s beer quenches the thirst of almost every passerby. In addition, a remarkable path passes through the place along the water and trees. Whether one travels there on foot or by bicycle, one sees a wide courtyard with houses that brings a new spirit to Litovel. The site is located on the northern edge of the historic core of Litovel between the remains of the medieval wall and the watercourse of the Dušní Morava. The complex of buildings with a courtyard extends towards the water into B Street. Němcová and closes with its back to the town centre. The individual buildings were built in different time periods, but the most worthy part is the preserved historical cellars of the former municipal brewery. The city currently has no direct use for the area, so we are coming up with ideas and plans for preserving and upgrading the neglected buildings and the entire surrounding area. The starting point for the adaptation proposal is primarily the historical legacy of the local Litovel beer and the local socio-cultural situation. The aim of the work is the transformation of the current situation into a modern centre of culture, art and education. Strengthening the social life with new attractive opportunities for the residents and visitors of Litovel.

The main task of the master project is to design a new energy efficient municipal house in Drnholec. The building has two above-ground floors and partial basement. It has a two-part flat roof. One part is green, the other has the bituminous roofing. The basement contains storage spaces and a boiler room. The ground floor contains an entrance hall, toilets, restaurant, a kitchen with storage and a hall with elevated stage. The first floor contains two club rooms, toilets and a room for the air conditioning system. The vertical load-bearing structures are designed from ceramic walls. Internal walls are designed from ceramic blocks. The horizontal load-bearing structures are designed from the pre-stressed Spiroll panels. The building envelope is insulated with mineral wool. The second part of the master project focuses on designing HVAC, lighting and sewage (including stormwater storage basin). The building utilizes an automatic biomass boiler as the main heating energy source. The summer domestic water heating is supported by photovoltaics. The third part of the master project assesses and compares heating of water by photovoltaics and solar thermal collectors. The project was carried out in the AutoCAD, DEKSOFT, Excel and Word.

Knichal, Filip ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is based on my architectural study, which was made in the third year of the academic year 2018/2019. The main task for this study was to design a leisure center for children, youth and adults in the cadastral district of Mojmírovo náměstí, in Brno – Královo Pole. The aim of this thesis is to elaborate the study to the level of documentation for building permition and documentation for construction. The plot is located in a gap site between a 5 storey new residential building with a flat roof and a 2 storey historic building with a saddle roof. In the surroundings there are mostly 5 storey apartment buildings together with the original historical development of family houses. A design of the leisure center tries to respect the height levels of the surrounding buildings and their spatial zoning. The ground plan does not exceed the depth of the surrounding buildings and the surrounding buildings are not shielded. The structure is 4 storeys, without basement, oriented to the east and west side, based on the space of the gap site. It contains two independent functional units: a leisure center and a hall with commercial space. The proposed building with a garden can be used for leisure activities, cultural and social events, and it will also expand the insufficient capacity of the classrooms and the premises of the Košinova elementary school in the morning. In the afternoon, the building, including the garden, will serve as a public meeting point. The idea was to create a multifunctional building for the needs of the local community. The leisure center in this place has its merit, because it is located right on Mojmírovo náměstí in the center of the action and the large garden is connected to the elementary school Košinova. The idea of the study was in the maximum glazing of the facade, which will reflect various greenery on the square, so it will also be open to the community, thanks to its transparency. The structure of the building is monol

Modlitba, Zdeněk ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The theme of the project is a new music club with reharsal rooms and recording studio in the center of Brno, Obilní trh. The site is situated on the slope next to the castle Špilberk. The proposal is based on an openness to the public, trying to captivate, pull in and make a passerby the visitor. The whole complex is made of three solitary objects that escalates its scale from view and trying not to create a barrier, but rather give the impression of accessibility. The site of this complex, along with trees, creates a park enviroment which enables the views to the castle Špilberk. The buildings are partially buried in the hillside terrain and directly connected to the extensive green roof, which creates a friendly terrace where you can watch the street or the artists inside the building. Functional content is divided into three objects. The largest one is a music club, including foyer, 2 music halls, terrace allowing views to the Obilní trh, backstages for musicians and garages. Socio-cultural centre with townhall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice
Iarmolinska, Violetta ; Antl, Roman (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
Chosen territory is located on the Libušina street, Brno - Kohoutovice. Socio-kultural center with townhall will serve as the dominant of district. Due to its shape, which is growing up, it reflects the character of the surrounding high-rise buildings. Entrance to the building is concentrated in one space, the communication part, which connects two masses - the town hall and socio-cultural center. Office space is structured around the perimeter of the building and also organized as a contact point with the society, due to glass partitions. The interior space of the town hall is lighted by glass atrium that allows sunlight penetrates to the whole building. Socio-kultural center with townhall is an expressive architectural element and includes three functions: culture, recreation and sport. The main part of the building is the multifunctional hall, that is used for such purposes as big celebrations, performances, music and dance events and film screenings. The idea to create the function of sport is based on interview and wishes of the local inhabitants. The restaurant, library and a recreation space have large glass windows, which allows visual connection between the interior and exterior and creates a pleasant aesthetic impression.
The object of metropolitan significance on the street Benesova Brno
Uřídilová, Valentýna ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The concept follows and respects the continuation of city parks on so called Okruzni boulevard where new green vegetation was created after the destruction of ramparts. The polyfunctional building is located on Benesova street and complements the built-up area as a city creating element. The building was solved as a compact mass of which shape, size and roundness reflects other buildings around. The goal of the design is to connect together Koliste and Benesova street and the city park. The building creates business parterre which makes it possible to reach the Koliste street directly from Benesova street through the building. With the help of parterre and generous staircase we can solve the problematic wall barriere and join together whole area. The character and the scale of building is a modern transcription of historical palaces.
