Music Therapy and Children with Autism Abstract The thesis entitled Music Therapy and Children with Autism deals with the characteristics of childhood autism and introduces music therapy as one of the possible forms of therapies, by means of which the development of children with autism can be positively influenced. The objective of the thesis is to record and organize theoretical knowledge regarding therapeutic effect of music on children with autism. The practical, empiric, part of the thesis aims to analyze the impact of music therapy on the development of pupils of special elementary schools, primarily in the area of communication. Three demonstrations of music therapy lessons applied within the process of the target group therapy are included as well as case studies of pupils with autism, individual therapy plans and their evaluation. Recorder as a Therapeutic Agent in Children With Symptoms of Problem Behavior

The topic of this thesis is to use descant recorders (hereinafter recorder) as a therapeutic agent in children with behavioral difficulties. The main aim of the study is to analyze the impact of activities with the recorder on the problem phenomena in the behavior of selected individuals and further explore the views of preschool teachers of their own readiness to manage problem behavior in their classrooms. The theoretical part is mainly engaged in the therapeutic use of recorders and characteristics of problematic behavior. Considerable space is devoted to the review of options to promote desirable behavior in pre school children and areas of music therapy. With regard to the desired objectives mixed research is chosen in the practical part. Using a questionnaire opinions of preschool teachers on the issue of educational difficulties in children are collected and also the possibility to use the recorder for therapeutic purposes. The case studies demonstrate the impact of the recorder on the manifestations of problematic behavior. The conclusion summarizes the findings of the study. Practical Music Therapy: Music Activities in Pre-School Special Education

Author's précis This work deals with the use of music therapy in special pre-school education. It focuses on the structure and progression of the activities carried out during the music therapy sessions in special kindergarten Štíbrova. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the purposes and charakteristics of the therapy for this kind of clients and to test the influence and difficulty levels of the activities. The basic methods are experiment and observation. In spite of the fact that the influence on the clients is hard to evaluate, it can be said that the basic objectives have been fulfilled. The difficulty was set on the level possible to manage for all the clients. The benefit of the work is the exact and comprehensible description of a usable structure of music therapy session for children from special pre-school facilities. On the grounds of experience, it defines advantages and disadvantages of the tested activities. The theses can become a source of inspiration for lecturers and teachers in pre- school special education and explain the basic issues to readers without any knowledge from the field. The activities could also be applicable in the common kindergartens.
Possibilities of using therapies for children with combined disabilities during preschool age

The diploma thesis considers possibilities of using therapies for preschool children with multiple disabilities in special nursery schools and in common nurseries with special classes. Provides an overview of therapies which mostly occur in schools. Based on the theoretical knowledge about single therapies identifies, how are integrated into the educational process in kindergartens. The analysis of the questionnaire survey highlights the shortcomings, that were the basis for a proposal to streamline therapies in these facilities.

Using Music in Teaching English

This diploma thesis focuses on using music (primarily songs) in teaching English as a foreign language. The theoretical part deals with different aspects of the benefits of music. The first chapter covers the discipline of music therapy, it is followed by a chapter about Stephen Krashen's Affective Filter Hypothesis and subsequently about music and brain. Then there is a chapter about the role of motivation through music and the outline of possible criteria for choosing a good song. A chapter about different aspects of using songs: to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and culture close this part. The goal of the practical part is to provide examples of using songs in an English lesson. A short chapter is concerned with other activities connected to music. The practical part consists of two surveys: the first one is a survey of a textbook series and the second one deals with the results of a survey carried out at different types of schools. Title: Use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage Abstract: The topic of the bachelor thesis is the use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains 4 sections. The first section is entirely dedicated to the acquired brain damage. The second section describes the motor system and structures involved in its management. The third section summarizes information related to music therapy, neurological music therapy, rhythmical stimulation in neurological music therapy, music, rhythm and their influence on the human brain. In the last section, the Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance is described in more details, the elements of which are further used in the practical part. The practical part is built on two case studies illustrating two female patients with an upper limb motor disorder caused by cerebral stroke. During the therapeutic sessions with the patients different elements of Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance were applied.
