Graphics Intro 64kB Using OpenGL
Geršl, Jan ; Kubíček, Radek (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The field of this project is size restricted graphic intro. The paper deals with motivation creating such an intro and talks briefly about history. Main focus is put on general description of various principles common in demo development, techiques used achieving the practical assignment are provided with more detailed description.
Procedural Generation of City Topology
Zvěřina, Lukáš ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Láník, Aleš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is about problematique of procedural modeling. It especially tatgets procedural generation of city topology, using fractal geometry, rewriting gramatics using L-systems, OpenGL library for displaying scene and detailed description of approaches in texturing, lighting and other graphics effects.
Parsing for ET0L Systems
Kožár, Tomáš ; Klobučníková, Dominika (referee) ; Meduna, Alexandr (advisor)
This thesis focuses on deciding the membership of strings in languages generated by ET0L systems. It is achieved by designing two algorithms. The first one is a modification of the existing algorithm Cocke-Younger-Kasami for syntax analysis of context-free grammars in Chomsky normal form. This modification takes into account different properties of ET0L systems compared to context-free grammars. Specifically, the parallel application of production rules and multiple tables of these production rules. Also, used normal form is different from Chomsky normal form since CNF is unfit for ET0L systems. The second designed algorithm works in a top-down manner and gradually generates all valid strings. The resulting algorithms are tested, demonstrated, and fully functional. The contributions of this thesis are two new algorithms for syntax analysis of ET0L systems.
Realistic Landscape with Vegetation
Zelený, Jan ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
There is enough rendering power to draw more than only simple indoor scenes today and it can produce very realistic images of landscape with vegetation. Moreover, there are new sophisticated methods for generating of such landscape and simulation of plants ecosystem. This text explains few algorithms for generating and methods for interactive rendering of landscape and vegetation.
Procedurally Generated City
Panáček, Petr ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This paper deals with problem of procedurally generated city. There are described steps of creation of city. These steps are: road generation, extraction of minimal cycles in graph, division of lots and generation of buildings. Road and buildings are generated by L-system. Our system generate a city from input images, such as height map, map of population density and map of water areas. Proposed approaches are used for implementation of application for generation of city.
Evolutionary Design of Structures Using Rewriting Systems
Dobeš, Michal ; Zachariášová, Marcela (referee) ; Bidlo, Michal (advisor)
This work focuses on application of rewriting systems in the context of biology-inspired development of structures in evolutionary algorithms. As a part of this work, a method has been proposed for design of general structures that uses the aforementioned principle. This document includes an introduction into the theory of sorting networks and their design, the problem of which is later shown to be solvable using the proposed method. In addition, the theoretical background of evolutionary algorithms and rewriting systems is discussed. In the field of rewriting systems, an extension to the class of IL-systems has been created for use in the proposed method. The proposed method has been successfuly applied in the design of growing sorting networks. The results produced by the proposed method significantly outperform the results of the currently best-known comparable method.
Procedural Generation of Cities
Hamerník, Pavel ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work is about procedural generation of cities. There are defined the different stages of city generation and existing methods used to achieve them. The following describes the procedures used to implement a system capable of generating cities. The resulting generator is able to generate cities based on input random seed.
Evolutionary Design of 3D Structures
Kovařík, Roman ; Sekanina, Lukáš (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with evolutionary design of 3D structures. The work brings the summary of the previous works in this area and brings autor's suggested solution of evolutionary design of 3D structures. This paper seeks to the ability of easy fitness function definition in the systems for evolutionary design of structures. The author tries to make one of the first steps to the future systems for evolution design of any universal structures in contrast with the evolution systems for design of a concrete type of structure. The result of this work is the basic system for evolutionary design of 3D structures with the ability of external fitness function definition via the XML file. This paper offers also the  simple advices and observations for the potential future work in this area.
Fractals in Computer Graphics
Heiník, Jan ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with history of Fractal geometry and describes the fractal science development. In the begining there are essential Fractal science terms explained. Then description of fractal types and typical or most known examples of them are mentioned. Fractal knowledge application besides computer graphics area is discussed. Thesis informs about fractal geometry practical usage. Few present software packages or more programs which can be used for making fractal pictures are described in this work. Some of theirs capabilities are described. Thesis' practical part consists of slides, demonstrational program and poster. Electronical slides represents brief scheme usable for fractal geometry realm lectures. Program generates selected fractal types. Thesis results are projected on poster.
Graphics Intro 64kB Using OpenGL
Věrný, Jan ; Matýšek, Michal (referee) ; Milet, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with creation of graphic intro with limited size of the produced executable file. To reach this goal OpenGL, together with procedural generation techniques, exe packer and various compiler settings were used. The result is an executable file with size not going over 64kB, which shows Martian spaceships travelling towards the planet Earth.
