The Impact and Ways of Using of Lovecraft´s Horror Patterns in Contemporary Cultural Products

Topic of this bachelor thesis stands on cosmic horror, fantasy sub-genre created by Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The thesis starts with introduction with author, said horror, iconic characters, people and mediums. Most of the thesis analyzes various examples of modern production, wich are either adapting Lovecraft´s original works, are inspired by them, or are refering to them in a selected hints. Thus the reader will meet with a wide range of adaptations that are nowdays a key parts of interner, horror and fictional popculture, whereby he will be introduced to the impact and ways of using patterns of Lovecraft´s horror in contemporary cultural products.
Teaching Biology via playing games

Bachelor thesis deals with teaching methods in natural history and is specifically focused on teaching in the form of games. The theoretical part of the work contains a description of teaching methods that are still commonly used today and further focused on a specific form of teaching - didactic games. The practical part of the work is focused on the differences between frontal teaching and teaching in the form of games.
Using games and contests in English language teaching at elementary school level.

Abstract This Diploma Thesis deals with using games and competitions in teaching of English for the first level of primary schools. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the role of the game in English language teaching and its possible use in order to develop key language skills. The theoretical part deals with the psychological characteristics of the younger school age, then the theory of play and the developmental stages of children's play. In the last part of the thesis, there are described the different types of didactic games. The practical part consists of two parts. The first part presents didactic games, that are properly commented in terms of general educational and language objectives. Each of them was taught and reflected in terms of its effectiveness. The second chapter of the practical part presents the results of the research, which was conducted in the form of a guided interview with English language teachers at the elementary school, dealing with their experience in using English language lessons at primary school.
Sport vs. eSport: motives of viewership from the fans' point of view

Title: Sport vs. eSport: viewership motives from the fans' perspective Objectives: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to find common or different elements of sport and esports that motivate fans to watch it. The fulfillment of the main objective is preceded by the selection of appropriate motives. Subsequently, through proper and targeted exposure to individual motives, officials and individual managers can expand and manage the membership base. Methods: The research was carried out using a quantitative method of electronic questioning. An electronic questionnaire distributed through social networks was used to collect data, which enabled responses from 144 respondents. The research sample was composed of fans of sports and esports. Results: The research has provided a closer look at the motives that drive fans to watch sports and esports. The research also revealed the similarities between sports and esports industries, which will make it possible to apply marketing methods from sports to the emerging esports environment. Learning Software for Visual and Text-Based Programming in Lua/LÖVE

This thesis pertains visual programming in Lua language with LÖVE framework. Within this thesis was created web application for teaching programming in Lua/LÖVE. Application supports both block and text based programming. Created games can be easily launched on Android platfrom using the Android app that was created in this thesis. The web app also includes tutorials that are well suited for education in schools.
Reinforcement Learning for Bomberman Type Game

This bachelor's thesis aims to develop, implement and train reinforcement learning models for a Bomberman-type game. It is based on Bomberland environment from CoderOne. This environment was created for education and research in the field of artificial intelligence. In this thesis I tackle the settings and problems of implementing agent into the environment. I used 2 policies (MLP and CNN), 2 algorithms (PPO and A2C) and 5 setups of neural networks for feature extraction with the use of libraries stable baselines 3 and pytorch. Total training time resulted in 1207 real-world hours, 4168 computing hours and 271 milions of time steps. Although the training was not successful, this thesis shows the process of implementing a reinforcement learning model into a Gym environment.
Using Board Games in the Czech Language Lessons in Primary School

The aim of my diploma thesis is to enrich the first stage with aids that can be used effectively in Czech language lessons, it will be possible to easily modify and use them across the first stage of basic education, at the same time it will entertain pupils and motivate them in further education. These are board games, which are described in more detail in the last paragraph. The first half of the work is theoretically focused. It explains the definition of the game from various sources, draws attention to the importance of the game in human life and how it develops individual skills. It also presents the history of board games. Here you will also find an explanation of individual concepts related to games and the school environment. It includes a justification of the didactic potential of board games in Czech language lessons. Last but not least, there is also a short analysis of the part of the FEP related to the Czech language with comments on how the outputs can be fulfilled or key competencies can be developed through board games. The second part of the thesis contains a questionnaire mapping the use of board games in the Czech language, and the way in which teachers are perceived. Mapping and Analysis of Developmental Types of Boys in a Selected 4th Grade of Elementary School

This dissertation deal with developmental types of boys in the fourth grade of basic school. It is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part I am dealing with possible reasons of making a relations between boys, focused on social psychology, socio-culture and psychological aspekt. In empirical part, which is based on my own observation of school class, the structure of relations between boys is completely described. The goal of empirical part is to describe boys as individuals and according to their appearances, interests, family relations and games, which boys like to play in school class, divided them into several groups. Games in school class are mentioned in separate paragraph. According to my own observation four groups of boys were established. Each group has typical character and their members have specific interests and own attitude to class. These groups were created because of likings between boys, similar attributes of boys and attitudes of boys to school. These results are elaborated in the conclusion of my dissertation.
