Role of teaching assistant in education of a pupils with hearing impairment

The bachelor's thesis deals with the job description of a teaching assistant in the education of pupils with hearing impairment at a regular primary school. The work also focuses on how the assistants are familiar with the surdopedic care issues. Furthermore, it was necessary to find out if there were any problematic aspects of the teaching assistant's work with a hearing impaired pupil. The research investigation of the bachelor thesis was carried out in a qualitative form. A semi-structured interview was used as a method of data collection. These interviews were conducted with four informants, i.e. four teaching assistants who provide support to pupils with hearing impairments at a regular primary school. The interviews were recorded and transcribed into a verbatim transcript, which was openly coded for research purposes. The research investigation of the work was to point out the practical aspects of the work of a teaching assistant for these pupils and the possible issues of this activity. The survey results showed that the problematic area could include online learning and the subsequent wearing of protective equipment during renewed full-time teaching. Self-concept in the context of work realization form pedagogical worker with hearing impairment

This bachelor thesis is focused on the self-concept of pedagogical workers with hearing impairments employed in education, specifically in kindergartens, primary and high schools for the hearing impaired. The theoretical part focuses on the classification of the hearing impaired, the possibilities of education of the hearing impaired and their employment in the labour market, self-concept and related terms, and the characteristics of individual positions in which teachers with hearing impairments can work within a school for the hearing impaired. The aim of the work is to clarify the issue of self-concept of these workers in their employment. Furthermore, it will also shed light on the influence of lenght of experience and education attainment on the self-concept of teachinh staff with hearing impairement, highlight the use of self-assessment and self-reflection by these staff and last but not least, identify how workplace relationships influence the self-concept of teaching staff with hearing impairment. Edit the text for reading comprehension for pupils with hearing impairment

The work focuses on the problems of hearing impaired pupils, their education, describing teaching methods and editing texts for reading comprehension. The practical part was the presentation of texts in four genres, namely short stories, drama, poetry and scholarly article, verifying understanding of one of the selected modified texts in one classroom at an elementary school in Ječná and based on this experience, further develop the methodological process of creating these texts. Method of work was to analyze the available literature, further observations in the sample lesson of Czech language and literature at the end was to verify understanding through inspection questionnaire with open questions. Based on this verification, it was found that the adjusted texts help pupils better in the text or characters or navigate example to understand complex sentence parts units. But verification must be performed in several ways. Unable to rely on regular testing for pupils with hearing people using open questions. Neither the texts modified are not always definitive and must continue to work with them, as for every pupil must be treated individually. Identification of emotional expression with a focus on the comparison of deaf, hearing and hearing-impaired

This thesis is focused on the identification of emotional expressions in the human face. The theoretical part includes an introduction to the issue of emotions, the history research on the identification of emotional expressions, the description of the various expressions of basic emotions and their recognition followed with the characteristics of the group of hearing-impaired. In the empirical part the research on the recognition identification of emotions in the face from the portraits is described. The aim of this thesis is to compare the accuracy of identification of emotional expressions among the groups of hearing, deaf and hard of hearing, and their development across all age categories. In my research I focus on the seven basic emotions (fear, anger, sadness, surprise, hapiness, disgust and contempt) and one social emotions (shame). The research did not confirm my assumptions. No statistically significant difference among the three groups in the overall identification of emotional expression was proved. The only difference was in the recognition of disgust which resulted in favor of the hearing. Acceptance and development of a child with hearing impairment in a hearing family

This thesis deals with the acceptance and development of a child with hearing impairment in a hearing family. The first chapter of the theoretical part deals with hearing impairment and the basic terminology of the discipline. The second chapter deals with the possibilities of compensation and rehabilitation of hearing. The third chapter represents the communication of hearing impaired children and different communication systems. The penultimate chapter is devoted to the development and education of children with hearing impairment. The final chapter of the theoretical part represents the system of educational care for children with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis deals with the experiences of parents raising a child with hearing impairment. The main objective of the research is to find out how the acceptance and development of a hearing impaired child in a hearing family. According to the character of the research, qualitative research method was used. The results of the work should facilitate the understanding of parents in a situation where it is their task to raise a child with hearing impairment.
Self-esteem of university students with severe hearing disabilities

This paper deals with self-esteem of university students with hearing impairment. It primarily utilizes a qualitative approach that deals with the analysis of the statements of six respondents. Basic concepts related to self-esteem and an overview of current research are presented in the theoretical part of the paper. In the empirical part, a quantitative test (SLSC-R) is used. However, the main focus of the work lies in application and interpretation of the qualitative method - "authors' questionnaire". This work strives to find and describe factors which are believed to affect self-esteem of the respondents. The paper aims to be a contribution to the psychology of disability, for example, in identifying and describing areas that are believed to be useful for further research.
