Drop-out of novice teachers

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of so-called drop-out of teachers from schools or the early departure of teachers from their profession. It focuses specifically on novice teachers, which means teachers in the early years of their careers. This is a very current issue, because the lack of quality teachers is a problem not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. The thesis focuses on former elementary and secondary school teachers in the Czech Republic. The primary goal of the thesis is to identify and understand the reasons for the drop-out of novice teachers. In addition, the thesis also deals with the course of the teacher's education and practice and the possibilities of preventing the early departure of novice teachers. The first part of the thesis contains the theoretical and factual basis of the studied problem and the results of previous studies of the topic are also presented here. The second part of the thesis is formed by the analysis of eight half-structured interviews with former teachers. Their narratives are briefly introduced here. This bachelor thesis has a comparative character. It focuses on a comparison of educational systems between Czech Republic and Italy. The first theoretical part of the thesis characterizes primary features of both educational systems. Areas of education are briefly described to aid a better orientation in the thesis. The second part contains a comparison of specific areas of educational systems based on data suggested in the first part. As a conclusion, the thesis contains a bilingual glossary with relevant therminology.
Cyberbullying at basic schools

This thesis focuses on the theme of cyberbullying at selected basic schools in the Czech Republic. The conceptual basis rests upon Lawrence Kohlberg theory of moral development and theory of social pathology. Through the desk research of the relevant Czech and international research, and through experts interviewing, the aims of the thesis are mainly exploratory, i.e. to explore the nowadays situation in (incl. effects and prevention/fighting of) cyberbullying at sample basic schools in the Czech Republic.
Comparative Analysis of Czech and Norwegian Educational System: Analysis of chosen actual problems

Comparative analysis of Czech and Norwegian educational system is focused on comparing topics of inclusive education and teacher training between both countries. The aim of thesis is comparation of chosen educational topics, which is based on study and analysis of curricular and legislative documents, white papers etc. of the Czech Republic and Norway with reference to their links and differences. The main focus of thesis is synchronous data comparison and suggestion of solutions for pedagogical reality. Comparison of selected pedagogical problems is supplemented by chapters that briefly present demographic, historical, economic, etc. data on the countries concerned, including a brief overview of education systems. The results of the thesis can serve as a basis for further research of selected topics or may be an inspiration for practice. Multicultural Education: Construction of Identity in Czech Educational System

This master's thesis is concerned with the understanding of identity in the multicultural education in the Czech educational system - more precisely by the construction of identity. Multicultural education is the main educational stream, when it comes to the education against racism, xenophobia, intolerance or discrimination. In the Czech Republic, the multicultural education is one of the cross-subjects defined in the Educational Framework Programs. Lately, there have been many criticisms and concerns regarding multicultural education's tools including the identity politics due to its inability of reaching the proclaimed goals and objectives. Sometimes, it does quite the opposite - it reproduces dangerous stereotypes in the society and perpetuates discrimination. Identity is the key element in the multicultural education. How we perceive ourselves and others, influences many spheres of our lives. Whether the groups are constructed positively or negatively influences for example the allocation of benefits. Transformation model of the school-leaving exams in the Czech republic

The subject of this thesis are the models of the school-leaving exams changing over time due to the educational policy of the state and sometimes tumultuous political developments. The theoretical part contains historical analysis of the graduation exam and its models, creating the basis for the empirical part. Based on the study of legislation and rules governing conditions and holding the graduation exams and further study of the relevant literature, on a precise description of the current model and indicating the current efforts to modify the existing model of the graduation exam the vivid picture of this phenomenon in the whole range of educational issues is created. The attention is also paid to the issue of holding the graduation exam. The leaving examination since its inception in our country in 1849 has been defined by the law, its implementation has been modified the closer decrees. Thesis reviews the development of educational systems Czech and Slovak Republic after the division of Czechoslovakia in 1993. The common historical background in educational policy is the starting point for monitoring the development of these educational systems. The work aims to map and compare the development of educational systems of Czech and Slovak Republic. Describes historical events that have influenced their present form, and the issue is mapping of several aspects. Thesis is mapping these aspects in terms shaping the structure of educational systems, management and financing of education and educational policy. Also is mapping the important legislative steps and published educational documents. The comparative part thesis equates the education systems of both countries. It aims to find the answer how far apart to move away these two educational systems over the last quarter century and is describing the defining characteristics of the current differences. This comparison is carried for a period of ten years, and as a basis of this serves studies from 2004, 2009, 2014. Comparison of the influence of the PISA Study on the german and the czech educational system 2000-2009

This paper aims to compare the results and effects of the PISA study on the Czech and German educational system. The OECD compares with the PISA tests the abilities of the fifteen-year-old to use what they have learned during the compulsory school time in real life situations. Opposite to Czech Republic, Germany was able to improve its results. The undertaken reforms in Germany as well as in Czech Republic aim at similar goals, their results vary, however. The causes of the different outcomes are described by analysing the used instruments of educational policy and the whole political and public reception of the study. Those are illustrated by an overview of the media coverage relating to the PISA Study.
The teaching of foreign languages and the process of preparation of teachers of foreign languages in the period 1990-2012

This work focuses on changes in teaching foreign languages and on new requirements for education and training of foreign language teachers after 1989, including a brief survey of the history of foreign language teaching and the development of teacher training. It observes changes in the area of learning objectives, changes in the teacher - pupil relationship, changes in work methods. It deals with a new approach to the selection and use of teaching materials and the inclusion of new technologies in teaching. It discusses the implementation of both the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the European Language Portfolio. The work presents in the form of interviews also personal experience with teaching foreign languages and possible ways to achieve the required qualification.
