MACEŠKOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of selected techniques in working with clients in a home with special regime. The aim of the bachelor 's thesis was to map how employees of homes with special regime use selected techniques in working with seniors with dementia syndrome. This is a topical issue, as the number of people with this disease who require special care is constantly increasing. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the issue and the definition of important terms based on literature and legislation - dementia, services suitable for seniors with dementia, selected techniques in working with seniors with dementia etc. In the practical part, the work deals with research. The research mapped the use of individual work techniques - basal stimulation, sensory activation, psychobiographical model of care Erwin Böhm in homes with a special regime in the Central Bohemian Region, and this part presents the results achieved in the research. The strategy of qualitative research was chosen for the elaboration of the research in the practical part of this bachelor 's thesis. Within this strategy, the method of questioning was chosen together with the technique of semi-structured interview. Research has shown, for example, that employees use the technique of basal stimulation, sensory activation and the psychobiographical model of care Erwin Böhm in harmony with each other. The results of the research will serve as feedback to the informants involved in the research and as a subject for possible streamlining in work with selected techniques in homes with a special regime.

Specifics of communication of people with dementia
Čížková, Anna ; Marádová, Eva (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of communication of people with Alzheimer's disease. It's aim is to describe and assess - on the base of a case study of four married couples - what changes in communication may occur due to Alzheimer's disease, what supportive and new communication strategies may be used by the carers and their relatives, whether they were offered professional counselling on communication and whether they would welcome speech therapy. A semi-structured interview method was chosen to obtain relevant data. The data were analysed using an open coding method followed by categorisation. They are presented in a case study designs. Communication changed for all couples, always in a different form and extent. The changes affected all linguistic levels, with the most significant variations occurring on the lexical-semantic and pragmatic levels, and to a lesser extent on the morphological- syntactic and phonetic-phonological levels. The use of supportive communication strategies and aids was observed in a small extent, more like a natural complement to communication. Professional counselling proved to be sufficient, perhaps because all respondents use the service of the Alzheimer Point counselling team. Speech therapy councelling was not offered to the respondents. As changes in communication...

Zelená, Zora ; Zemková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Novotný, Josef (referee)
In the theoretical section we have focused on the process of ageing and made a geographical and statistical assessment. The base was our country's legislative framework for providing care to the elderly with dementia, the issue of the illness of dementia, its causes, as well as the approach and care provided to people with dementia. We drew from the terminological definitions and theoretical resources for employing elderly people with dementia. We have made a note of the philosophical and psychological source. We lay emphasis on information concerning the possibilities of employing elderly people with dementia and their activation. We have followed theoretical resources which, in employing these people, are especially constructive for the users, providers and above all for the family. In all the items observed we respected the limit given by the diagnose of dementia. In the practical section, we have paid attention to already existing activities employed in residential homes for the elderly with dementia. We give a list of some types of homes where people with dementia are placed and where a survey was made. We see the chief asset of the master's thesis in creating a questionnaire, describing the administration and evaluating the gained information on employing the elderly with dementia. We have...
