Geographical aspects of terrorism - change of the world pattern after 1968 and the Cold war
Vogt, David ; Tomeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Novotný, Josef (referee)
8 Abstract This thesis discusses main approaches in contemporary studies of terrorism, particularly the geographical view of this serious phenomenon, which shouldn't be watched only by non- scientific media. The main objective of this research is to examine the changes of geographical distribution of terrorism, mainly its international form, in last four decades and after the end of the cold war, to find out trends in its territorial and programme alignment, to see the metamorphosis of the geographical image of international terrorism. The research questions or hypotheses say: 1) Since the 60s the localisation of focal points of hardest acts of terrorism has changed. 2) The end of the cold war brought boom of nationalist/cultural motivated terrorism. 3) Islamic extremists are responsible for the most of acts of terrorism. The research era is between February 1968 and 10th December 2006, what is given by the main source, the MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base (TKB) (based on data from the RAND Corporation). The era is divided into four periods according to main historical events considered to be important for its influence on (not only international) terrorism. The first period (1968-1975) goes at the time of Vietnam War. Its end is considered as a relative lose of prestige for the United States and the support...

Zieglerová, Anna ; Hulva, Pavel (advisor) ; Bartonička, Tomáš (referee)
56 6. SUMMARY This paper summarizes the results of a study in applying molecular techniques to analysis of social biology and the genealogical structure of bats. A population of Pipistrellus nathusii was investigated in the model Protected Landscape Area Trebonsko (South Bohemia). Systematic research of this species has been ongoing there since 1996. Unlike other species, which have been studied using similar research methods, this is a form whose annual life cycle and area distribution are characterized by seasonal long- distance migration of the entire population. Its social structure and mating system are not generally noted in species with similar characteristics. The object of the analysis was a group of 304 individuals, including 45 resident males, 98 adult females and 161 juveniles, captured in 3 Summer colonies during two consecutive seasons. From 15 verified micro-satellite markers, 4 of them, which a displayed standard high level of alelic polymorphism (24-85), were chosen for routine use. It has been shown, that the micro-satellite analysis employed enables highly reliable identification of individuals, and the identification of family relationships. The distribution of documented paternity illustrates that the multiple reproductive effect of certain males and the increased proportion in...

Visitors' Impact Evaluation in the Čertoryje Nature Preserve
Čtrnáctý, Jaromír ; Čihař, Martin (referee) ; Banaš, Marek (advisor)
- 8 - ABSTRACT During the last years, nature-based tourism has been a rapidly growing branch. The most significant impacts are often located in the most valuable and vulnerable nature areas. Therefore, finding a compromise between the concerns of visitors and nature area protection will become vital in the near future. This thesis explores the relationship between the visitors' flow and the environment in the Čertoryje Nature Preserve in Bílé Karpaty Mountains. The work consists of four main parts - a map of values, a map of vulnerability, a map of impacts and counting of visitors at the most used routes within the preserve. The work is supported by a survey aimed at the visitors' opinions and by an evaluation of the visitors' space distribution. Finally, the work is completed by concrete management suggestions. As expected, it has been found out that the most valuable and vulnerable areas are the valley of the stream Járkovec and it's south-western slope. This is also where most of the visitors' impacts have been located. Nevertheless, the overall number of the visitors during the survey period turned out to be a bit lower than expected. The survey also revealed that most of the visitors come to the area because of the fauna and flora richness (45,2 % of respondents) and that they stay mainly just for one...

OpenSource SW for data traffic inspection
Horák, Daniel ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This work deals with a usage of free and open software for filtering of network traffic and its installation in network gateway in small and middle-sized networks. Main focus is on filtering the http protocol on the level of a application layer. At the start a problems of free and open software is analyzed along with its advantages that result from its usage. There are as well given reasons for choosing the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. Further there are discussed possibilities of filtering network traffic on packets level and status filter along with the soft- ware iptables. Main part focuses on a filtering of http traffic on the application layer level using program Squid and DansGuardian. In a practical part the installation and configuration of operating system Debian GNU/Linux is presented including base services (ssh, DNS and DHCP server). Further more there are installations and configurations of softwares Squid and DansGuardian demonstrated. For DansGuardian there is a web configuration interface created.

Redistribuce napětí a její vliv na precipitaci v mikrostruktuře
Holec, David ; Dlouhý, Antonín
The present study considers two mechanisms that can contribute to the local redistribution of stresses in the microstructure of engineering alloys. The first model takes into account the anisotropy of thermal expansion coefficients and predicts a stress state generated close to a boundary between two differently oriented grains after a temperature change. The second model addresses a stress distribution in a polycrystalline aggregate characterized by anisotropic elastic constants and subjected to the isothermal aging under the assistance of external stress. The influence of local stress states on the selective precipitation of the Ni4Ti3 crystallographic variants in the microstructure of the NiTi shape memory alloy is demonstrated.

Lanthanides (REE) are particularly useful as tracers of natural processes such as crust and mantle processes, weathering, sedimentary processes, geochemical processes in surface and groundwaters and transport of particulate material through the atmosphere. The aim of this study was to contribute to explanation of the REE cycling by evaluating their concentration in particular components of the ecosystem and by comparing their distributions between these components.

Emergent urban strategies: rules of city reconfiguration
Buš, Peter
A city as a complex phenomenon and an entirety of events, its communication flows (information and data telecommunication networks and their access points), energy, goods and materials distribution and movement of users themselves and their spatial interactions with the environment nowadays no doubt has been creating new conditions and demands on the city's spatial organization, infrastructure, its growth and its thickening. Urban space today is an aggregate of complex dynamic processes which contribute to its configuration and mutually influence each other. Thus, urban environment shows emergent qualities and contains multi-layer scenarios of its own development and reconfiguration in time. This stratification is impossible to be comprehended by a linear model of a single predicted concept (top-down strategy). Architects and urban planners may, however, cover these specifics by a prediction of space development with a multi-layer result that would take into account the requirements of users at the lower level (bottom-up strategy). The aim of the research is therefore a spatial simulation of environment development, which would simulate its complexity, growth and reconfiguration. This spatial simulation would serve as a decision-making tool for architects when applying various scenarios of environment development and thereby it would create a basis for spatial planning decisions in subsequent stages of zoning proceedings. The final result of this research shall be a visualized algorithm in a model of spatial environment reconfiguration that could be serviceable also in the internet environment. This result implemented in a software tool can also serve as a creative platform for designing urban structure based on simple rules of a lower level that would, however, consequently simulate the complex urban entirety.
