The suppressed problem in the Czech Republic: fathers who care after divorce for their children
Simbartlová, Kateřina ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Švihálková, Kateřina (referee)
In the preconception of a large part of society, there is the notion that "dads do not want to pay for their children" or may not take care of them after the divorce. Even fewer people care about the dads who would like to care for their children, but they are prevented in various ways, whether by a former partner or by the authorities. In my work I will deal with the social problem of fathers who try to care for their children after the divorce. The importance of a father's role in raising a child is not well-appreciated, and in some cases it may happen that the mother is preferred. The reason is socially prejudiced that care belongs to mothers, which is also built the concept of parental role. The consequence of this prejudice is that in our country there is still no common alternate care, as it is in other European countries. Some fathers agree that his father's role after divorce is not considered as important and just as maternity. But there are also those who ask for their right to equal education of children after their divorce to be respected. The fact that not every father has enough contact with a child, but requires care, I will demonstrate in 3 case studies. Thanks to their writings, expert opinions, interviews, and interviews with experts, I can outline real cases of cervical care in...

Vojnová, Lenka ; Jamek, Václav (advisor) ; Pohorský, Aleš (referee)
The Moroccan Driss Chraïbi belongs to the most important Francophone authors in the contemporary Maghreb literature. A lot of his works are inspired by autobiography literature and this thesis will study this part of his work. We will consider culture aspects of Driss Chraïbi's texts and focus on characters of mother and father. We will see how the traditional family model is affected by the West one, so by the European culture. The images of father develop from a patriarch tyrant to a friendly man understanding the modern world. Mother, traditionally representing the tradition and the family, becomes in certain texts fighter for the woman liberation and for women's rights. However the author does not seem to reject the tradition. The analysis focuses on these questions. At the beginning we will also introduce the author in the North African literature context and determine the part of the autofiction of Driss Chraïbi's works. Key words: Driss Chraïbi, woman, man, mother, father, Moroccan society, European society
Fatherʼs Communication with Children
Mráčková, Milena ; Saicová Římalová, Lucie (advisor) ; Adam, Robert (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with communication between the child and his/her father. The first part defines basic theoretical terms and summarizes the results of previous research trying to explain the principles of child language acquisition and outline the central features of child-directed speech. The theoretical part is based on information from scientific publications that suggest possible causes of differences between the father's and the mother's child- directed speech. The second part of the thesis consists of individual case studies focusing on the analysis of the audio recordings of natural father-child communication. All participating families signed an informed consent. The recordings were transcribed according to the transcription format of the CHAT system, which is a part of the CHILDES acquisition database. The chapters concerning communication strategies and selected pragmatic, lexical, and syntactic features of the father's child-oriented speech were compared to the findings in the scientific literature. Due to a lack of research results in the Czech language environment, mainly Slovak publications were used for the comparison. Keywords communication, father, child, father's child-oriented speech

Jan Balabán's Zeptej se táty (Ask the Daddy), Emil Hakl's Pravidla směšného chování (Etiquette of Ridiculousness), Son of the Regiment by Valentin Katajev, Kerouac's On the Road, Stříbrný vítr (Silver Wind) by Fráňa Šrámek, Letter to His Father by Franz Kafka and The Road by Cormac McCarthy are all analyzed in terms of theme of sonhood. Similarities and differences are both covered. Relation of sonhood, authority and god is crucial, as well as the change of the whole concept of father - son relationship which occurred in the 20th century. The author of the thesis tries to postulate questions concerning sonhood, which in his opinion should the mankind be asking. Yet it is not his ambition to offer resolute and firm answers. The essay is entwined with an autobiographic prose which completes the analytical part in a refreshing way. Both genres contribute to the final outcome, which is a synthesis offering the possibility of grasping theme of sonhood from a brand new perspective, as sonhood is also the main motif of the prosaic part. Main character, the author of the diploma thesis, is dealing with his relationship to his father, and more importantly his father's relationship to his father, i. e....
