Ecological audit and its effectiveness

This thesis focuses on the analysis of environmental audit instruments in economic terms. It is primarily aimed at assessing the effectiveness of this tool for entrepreneurs. The first stage of work is focused on the concept and definition of environmental audit and its history. This study then reports an analysis of benefits and costs of the environmental management system which is a prerequisite for setting auditing ISO 14001 and EMAS. The practical part of this thesis contains two case studies of specific examples of audits based on ISO certification.

The Housing Policy of the City of Písek

The main objective of diploma thesis is an analysis of the housing policy in the city of Písek, in which I endeavour to evaluate the existing method of its implementation and efficiency. The first part of thesis deals with the development of the housing policy in the territory of the Czech Republic with emphasis on the period since 1989. It includes descriptions of the most significant changes in the field of housing during the transformation period and defines the basic instruments of the state housing support. The second part of the thesis focuses on the role of municipalities in the field of housing and their possibilities in the disposal of the originally state housing stock. It concentrates on the actual situation on the housing market in the city of Písek where there has been a fundamental turn in the approach to the municipal rentable housing this year. It thoroughly examines the executed privatization of the housing stock with aspect to the prices of the sold units and it evaluates the significance of the newly adopted measures.

Trademarks and licensing agreements for trademarks

Diploma thesis deals with trademarks and licensing agreements for trademarks. The work evaluates and assesses the effectiveness of the legislation in connection with its application by the conclusion of license agreements in practice. The first chapter of the work focuses on the international and the community sources of legislation which are the basis for national adaptation. Another part is devoted to analysis of the constitution of the trade marks legislation significant for the conclusion of license agreements and to the assessment of their effectiveness, clarity and understandability in relation to practice. The third chapter assesses the constitution of the Commercial Code governing the licence agreemants and points to the frequent types of violations of licensing. It is a recommendation for the consclusion of licensing agreements for the mark without any problems.

Influnce of VO2 max on recovery during sport climbing

The aim of the study was to assess the influence of aerobic fitness on the recovery speed during climbing. Methods: Fourteen climbers took part in the study. Maximal VO2 test was performed on a treadmill. Two climbing tests (with/without revovery during climbing) were performed on a climbing wall to analyze the speed of recovery. The climbers were divided in three groups according their climbing ability. The decrease of heart rate and the differences in climbing performance with/without recovery were evaluated by Pearson correlation coefficient and analysis of variance. Results The actual level of climbing performance had significant effect on the recovery speed. The aerobic fitness did not have any effet.

Investment incentives in the Czech Republic

The aim of this paper is to describe and evaluate the development and the present form of the investment incentive system in the Czech Republic. Partial target is represented with its future form examination. The chapters include the description of the necessary legislation related to this topic, the comparison of the support programs and the development in receiving investment incentives concerning the manufacturing industry and the technology and strategic service centres. Eventually, the paper answers the question whether incentives should be preserved for the manufacturing industry in the future or should be fully oriented towards the technology and strategic service centres.

Economic analysis of size effect of meal vouchers on peoples' obesity

The object of this thesis is a size effect assessment of meal vouchers on peoples' obesity. The thesis theoretically analyses the effects and consequences of meal voucher use on the commoner-consumer in terms of consumer choice, the conditions under which decisions are made, consumer theory, and other factors and effects that have a decisive influence on consumer behavior. The thesis refers to individual "hazard" factors, which may be significant stimuli, which impact consumers (including indirectly), and on the basis of which obesity genesis may (but need not) occur. Finally, the thesis concentrates on the issue of the efficiency and effectiveness of specific state regulation in this area.

Financial Analysis of Bobcat CZ, a.s.

The aim of this vocational work is to review the financial situation of the firm Bobcat CZ, a.s. The methods of financial analysis were applied. The subject is focused on the most important factors which influence the enterprise of the firm and also on the most considerable fluctuations in various fields of the enterprise. Results of the analysis are compared with the data of another firms from the same branch. This work tries to find reasons of the progress of individual parts in the structure of the firm. This text also summarises and discribes all used methods, and conclusions and predicts future possibilities of the enterprise in the branch.

Diagnostics of financial indicators and application of certain models on the Student Agency Ltd.

The bachelor thesis is focused on diagnostics of financial indicators and application of certain models on the Student Agency Ltd. The exordium of this thesis is concerned with characteristic of financial standing models and bankruptcy predicting models and detailed description of financial ratios which are needed for construction of these models. In the practical part, there follows Grünwald standing model using data of the Student Agency Ltd., which is applied to pass judgment on financial health in the period 2004 -- 2007. Altman bankruptcy model is applied to verify the probability of going bankrupt, because of significant decrease in financial health.

Mac as a working tool of student at University of Economics in Prague

This thesis focuses on the products (mainly computers) of Apple Inc. It shows the strategy of the company in the foreign states and the Czech Republic. Compares notebooks from the company with competitors on the Czech market. The main contribution of this work is to assess the compatibility of the operating system Mac OS X at the University of Economics in Prague. Furthermore, implementation and evaluation of the survey regarding the Macintosh among students at the University of Economics in Prague. Finally, there are mentioned the alternative use of computer technology at the University of Economics in Prague.
