Intergenerational Communication in the Internet Age

This bachelor thesis concerns itself with the problematics of communication between generations in the internet age. Since there is almost no systematic literature on this topic, the main method used to process this thesis is a systematic review. The focus of the dissertation is to answer the question in what way does the spread and use of the internet change intergeneration relations. More attention is given, due to the wider theoretical and empirical materials, to the parents-children relationship. The bachelor thesis maps various aspects of communication (privacy, noms, time and space) and puts forward possible barriers and bridges between generations. Grandparents in the educational process

This bachelor's thesis concerns relationships of grandparents and grandchildren. The theoretical part focuses at the relationships from grandparent's and child's point of view. It describes the role of grandparents in education, interactions of children and grandparents and transformation of the relationship depending on the age of the child. The thesis also examines grandparents in the role of important adult and in the concept of intergenerational learning. There is a presentation of my research project in the second part. This project is focused on the transformation of the grandparents and grandchildren relationships along with the age of the children, and different expressions of the relationships depending on the grandparent's sex.
Problematics of foster care provided by relatives

This bachelor thesis is concentrated on the foster care provided by grandparents. This type of foster care has its own specificities, which are introduced in this thesis. It describes the historical development of foster care, the process of formation and progress and further represents the foster care provided by substitute family care given by relatives aimed at grandparents. It also characterizes the role of social worker of social and legal protection of children (OSPOD) and social worker of accompanying organization. The aim of the thesis is to present the issues of foster care provided by grandparents in a specific way which would provide a brief and comprehensive overview of the specificities of the foster care primarily focused on grandparents. The thesis is supplemented by practical examples.
Parents and grandparents in educating of pre school children

This diploma work deals with parents and grandparents in education of preschool age. First theoretical part of the work examines sociological data about family and education of children. The work further deals details of the position and role of the grandparents when these findings are then compare in the context of a child where the main importance is focused to presence grandparents in education. The second part of the work is focused to research. It examines how the parents and grandparents work together in education and how feels this help young parent. This part of the work finds what education methods repeat of our children and how has changed the education today against of past. It deals if grandparents affect their children and if these children perceive they are influence by parents.
Today's Family of a Pre-School Child and Free Time Activities

A family has an invaluable significance for a child of preschool age. It is a basic factor that determines his overall development and nature of free time activities. One of the most important activities are the shared activities of the child and his parents or grandparents, who play an important role in raising of preschool children and showing him a meaningful use of free time. The choice of free time activities should be appropriate to the child's age and should be based on their needs, abilities and skills. The activities should be interesting, varied, from different areas and should have the character of a play. The main way for children to spend free time should be a game. My research has shown that most of the mothers spend more time with their child than the father, with the largest difference occurring during working days. The range of activities reported by parents was greater than those reported by children, but there was a good agreement in the predominantly indicated plays and physical activities. Among the parents' predominant activities were also full-time activities outside the working day. Intergenerational Learning in Education of Preschool Children

The thesis is focused on the intergenerational learning in families of preschool children. The first, theoretical part, discusses the ongoing intergenerational learning in families and possibilities of intergenerational programs outside the family. The second, practical part, examines whether and how progress the intergenerational learning in families with preschool children and deals with the parentʼs attitudes toward intergenerational program in kindergarten. Research is carried out via survey in families of children, structured interviews with parents and observation and interviews with children in kindergarten. One part of the thesis is to create the design and implementation of a project focused on intergenerational learning in cooperation of kindergarten and senior citizen home and subsequent reflection process, which arises during intergenerational activities between children and seniors from non-family environment.
The role of grandparents in the family from the view of current university students

This bachelor thesis deals with the position of grandparents in a family in the view of young generation represented by university students. The theoretical part is focused on the family, multigenerational cohabitation and grandparent´s position in the society. It describes the importance of grandparents for children and their parents, but also the importance of grandchildren for their grandparents. It also focuses on intergenerational relationships and intergenerational conflicts that may occur in multigenerational cohabitation. The practical part presents the results of quantitative research of current university students. With the help of questionnaire survey, the aim of this thesis is to find opinions of students to the status of grandparents in a family and opinions on multigenerational cohabitation, including the advantages or disadvantages which this cohabitation brings.
The upbringing of a child by the grandparents

The theme of this thesis is: "Raising a child by grand-parents." In the theoretical part there were described three main topics: firstly family and its importance, secondly foster care and this part was finalized by upbringing in a family. The next step was a practical part and research, which was lead in a form of a dialogue. The target of this thesis is to find out: differences between bringing up by parents or by grand-parents, its impact on children, the development of children in foster families and their place in the society.
