Viennese element in media coverage of political event by Národní listy in 1871

Bachelor thesis "Viennese element in media coverage of political event by Národní listy in 1871" is focused on the way how the Czech press in the second half of 19th century disposed of information which were assumed from Viennese press. I have chosen a pe-riod of constitutional proceeding between the Czech and Viennese department in 1871 for the research. This medial event contained Czech issue as an internationally-political element. The bachelor thesis describes historical developement of Czech-German relati-onship and the standing of Czech countries within the Habsburg monarchy from the revolution year 1848 until the year 1871. The work also covers a brief development of media in the Czech territories during this time. The practical part of this work compares Viennese and Czech contemporary journals in the year 1871, describes differencies be-tween contents and the informative shift in the Czech journal.
The Czech Counterculture and Its Media Representation in the Period of 1983-1987

The bachelor thesis "The Czech Counterculture and Its Media Representation in the Period of 1983-1987" analyses the media coverage of that part of culture of the communist regime which was set aside from the propagandized main stream - either systematically by the regime or purposely by its performers. In the first part of the thesis, besides the outlining of the era of normalization and its media, there is a description of this type of culture, both in its illegal way (so called underground culture) and its official way of providing an alternative to the main stream. In the second part, the thesis is focused on following how the media reflected the alternative culture, using the chosen periodicals as an exemplar. The method of the research uses qualitative analysis and the research material consists of periodicals Rudé právo, Tribuna, Mladá fronta, Melodie a Tvorba in the period of the years 1983-1987. The thesis concentrates mainly on music, especially on the special phenomenon, which can be called the "New wave disruption effort." Other concerned issues and revealed facts in this thesis are definite differences about the way of media coverage of alternative culture between the single chosen periodicals, and also the transformation of the way of representation during the studied period.

This diploma thesis called The Picture of Presentation of Crosscountry Skiing in Mlada Fronta Dnes and Pravo is about how the picture of Crosscountry Skiing world championships changed in the period, which was the subject of research. ( 26th June 2007- till 31st March 2009). It concentrates on the main characters involved ( e.g head of the organizing committee Kateřina Neumannová, the mayor of Liberec Jiří Kittner, the former head of the organizing committee Roman Kumpost) The main goal of this thesis is to offer the complete picture of an major action of global importance on Czech soil.
A Phenomenon of fashion Blogs

Diploma thesis Fashion blogs and research on the phenomenon discusses a relatively new phenomenon of personal blogs with a focus on fashion and style. It presents fashion blogs in all their complexity, including the definition, classification, origin and evolution. The second section compares the descriptive way fashion blogs with thematically related fashion magazines and from various perspectives: formal characteristics, work organization, text, picture and graphic elements, audiences, the use of advertising and PR and representation of reality. The practical part is focused on qualitative research fashion blog - by a focus group interview with fashion bloggers and subsequently grounded theory method of analysis examines the various relationships, especially causal, which operate under the studied phenomenon. Through reveals further aspects of the fashion blogging such as motivation, fears, needs, dreams and ambitions of bloggers. The goal is to answer the question of how fashion blogs with its distinctive style and authors presentation define the fashion magazines and propose a basic theory of operation of the medium as yet not explored.
Czech serial "Velmi křehké vztahy" characters with regard to their property estate and social class

The thesis titled "Czech serial Velmi křehké vztahy characters with regard to their property estate and social class" is linked to specialised publications which originated in the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University in Prague mapping how the 'after the velvet revolution' series made by the Czech TV portray the topic of wealth and affluence. The theory part consist of findings from two socio-scientific fields, i.e. sociology and media studies, the outcomes of which will consequently meet in the research part of this thesis. The subject matter of the research part of this thesis is the episodes of the third season of the Velmi křehké vztahy soap opera which was broadcast by the Prima Czech TV channel between 2008 and 2009. This research sample was achieved by using a qualitative research technique, specifically the grounded theory method. The thesis focuses predominantly on how a class hierarchy and wealth determine their character. The attention is also paid to listing various social classes which appear in the series, and to the outline of the areas of a social life in which the social mobility is possible. The main objective of the diploma thesis is The Media image of the World Cogress of Women in Pragie in 1981 in chosen contemporary press. Women from 133 countries went, in the period from 8 to 13 October 1981, to the Palace of Culture in Prague to discuss equality and peace, descended on the event hosted by the Women's International Democratic Federation. The World Cogress of Women was seen as one of the most important political events of the year 1981 by the Eastern bloc countries. Grasping the topic to handle an event about which no literature after 1989, which would address it, thes describe the media scene, analyze access to press coverage of the event and last but not least, to characterize the status and role of women in 1981, as presented by media. This thesis aids to bring this historical event from a historical perpective of selected dailies and magazine and bring in-depth study of the topic.
Integrative role of Dělnické listy for the orientation of Viennese Czechs in the period of political change 1918-1919

This master's thesis examines the influence of a Czech newspaper, the Worker's Papers, that was published in Vienna. The daily paper was targeted at Czech citizens living in the Austrian capital in the times of political changes, between 1918 and 1919. First, the thesis employs the method of a quantitative analysis of articles from selected front pages of the Worker's Papers. I overview the major topics that the newspaper most often reported on: the world politics and the situation of Czechs living in Vienna. Then, I engage in a qualitative content analysis, analyzing key issues of Czechs that were often publicly discussed in the Austrian capital. Regarding the world news reporting, only articles that directly influenced Germany and Hungary are considered, since the Worker's Papers paid a special attention to this region. Using the quantitative, as well as qualitative, content analysis, I examine the extent to which the reporters in the Worker's Papers influenced their readers in terms of their audience's decision making and in terms of shaping the collective identity of the Czech minority in Vienna. Quantitative analysis of historiographic textbooks in term of Christianity The theme of this thesis is the quantitative analysis of contents of selected integral series of historiographic atlases for elementary schools, in term of frequency of occurrence of Christian coherence. The resolution proceeds in following steps: 1) Searching for outputs of multilayer relations between culture and Christianity in motion of history. Questions on meaning of processes. 2) Meaning of teaching of history in light of curricular documents. 3) Studying of process of textbook creation. 4) Textbook as an educational medium. 5) Historiographic textbook conception. 6) Quantitative analysis theory. The media image of lobbying

The diploma thesis "Media Image of Lobbying" focuses on the issue of the media image of lobbying and lobbyists in the newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo in the year 2008. Lobbying is an activity which the majority of population experiences through the media only. The media may thus greatly influence the way the public perceives and evaluates lobbying. In the first part of the diploma thesis the question of the media presentation of reality are introduced and the factors which influence the form of the media content are outlined. The paper further deals briefly with the effect the media have on the population and with the agenda-setting concept. Then the definition of lobbying is given, as well as the reasons and conditions for its positive and negative reputation. Positive and negative functions of lobbying are pointed out and various types and forms of lobbying are presented including indirect lobbying, which is associated with PR activities. In the research part of the paper the results of the quantitative research are presented. The aim of this research was to discover the most frequent types of lobbying and lobbyists in the newspapers studied. The diploma thesis LinkedIn as a phenomenon in the labour market focuses on the social network called LinkedIn and its impacts in the area of recruitment and selection of technical staff on the Czech labour market. The aim of the thesis is to point to the existence of the phenomenon LinkedIn. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one is dedicated to social networks, their definition, history, importance, classification and users. The second one is centered on LinkedIn as a specific example of a social network focusing on its history and present and overlapping into the recruitment and selection of staff. Also mentioned is the setting and appearance of the account on LinkedIn and how to reach workers on LinkedIn. The methodological part describes the chosen method of research. The analytical part tries to summarize and interpret the acuired data.
