Public Awareness: Life of People with Hearing Disabilities

This dissertation is focused on general public awareness regarding deaf and hard of hearing people. The work is structured into theoretical and practical part and is divided into a five main chapters. The first part contains a development of historical view on deaf and hard of hearing people as well society's present approach to them. After that follows a brief overview of the possibilities of obtaining information about the difficulties of people suffering with hearing loss. The second part describes the program "Getting to Know a Deaf Person's Life ", which effectiveness is verified by research based on interviews and questionnaires. The main purpose of this dissertation is in its usage as an information material about people with hearing loss and presentation of one of its public awareness schemes. Digital information resources in psychology

Cílem rigorózní práce je analyzovat a vyhodnotit digitální informační zdroje v oboru psychologie komerčně nebo volně dostupné v prostředí World Wide Web. Úvodní část práce obsahuje charakteristiku oboru a jeho informační potřeby. Jsou zmíněny instituce, kde vědecká informace vzniká a kde je využívána. V druhé části je pojednáno o problematice elektronického publikování a o terminologických otázkách. Třetí stěžejní část je věnována prezentaci výsledků analýzy a hodnocení vybraných reprezentantů jednotlivých typů digitálních informačních zdrojů z oboru psychologie, kterými zde jsou online časopisy, elektronické archivy a digitální knihovny, bibliografické a plnotextové databáze, elektronické slovníky, elektronické knihy, kolaborativní systémy typu wiki, blogy a osobní stránky, katalogy a rozcestníky. V dílčích částech jsou zdroje charakterizovány a zhodnoceny z hlediska způsobu zpřístupňování obsahu uživatelům. V závěrech je diskutováno o problematice důvěryhodnosti digitálních zdrojů, jsou shrnuty a vyhodnoceny analýzou získané poznatky a formulována doporučení pro využívání zdrojů v ČR

ICT market supply side analysis

This diploma thesis is focused on description, breakdown and objective analysis of available development indicators of the Information and Communication Technology market in the Czech Republic. In certain ways it relates to some prior theses prepared on the department of Information Technologies at The Prague University of Economics. The paper breakdowns period of last ten years, ideally years 1997 -- 2007, but in some parts the period is adjusted according to availability of statistical data. Also description of contemporary market situation and outline of trends is included to serve as future development estimation. Specific contribution of this work is analysis of data extracted from annual overview presented in Computerworld Top 100 by IDG Czech a.s. and data obtained from European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) yearbooks. Objective recognition of this data, their verification against information from different available sources and explanation by factual event provides comprehensive and independent view on particular influences which formed and affect Information and Communication Technology market in the Czech Republic. Whole paper and its individual chapters are as much as possible drafted as standalone parts and are seamlessly designated to overview dealt topic. Their objective is to provide summarized view of the topic with objective interpretation and comments. The most important from each part are basis for conclusion of the thesis. Conclusion provides the most important and interesting findings as well as future prospects considering areas of Information and Communication Technology market with great potential. Paper does not have the ambition of being isolated ultimative source of information about analyzed matters. It should be synoptical summary for anyone who wants to orientate oneself and as a good-quality source with references to external documents and other sources for those who want to deal with the problematics in more details.

First chapter is dedicated to securities and deals mostly with the term of securities and its sorting. Czech legal system doesn't contain any clear definition of securities and enumerate only demonstrative list of securities. Definition of this term can be found only in legal theory and says that securities are connection of subject right and carrier instrument, which can be for example paper or record in evidence. According to the Czech law of capital market are most of the securities investments instruments. Second part characterizes financial derivatives, describes legal base of derivatives and divides them into categories. These instruments are derived from other basic ones and their value is changeable depending on price or value of underlying instrument. Basic instrument can be stock, bond, interest rate, index and etc. These instruments are characteristic by derived feature, big leverage effect, risk managing possibility and speculative function for investors. Diploma thesis deals with the issue of controlling in a specific company. The first part deals with theory - definition of controlling, describing it in strategic and operational terms and characterizes individual activities in the company. In the second part is mentioned characteristics of the particular company and discussions of the importance of controlling. The main goal was demonstration of meaningfullness and practical usefulness of controlling in the company.

Typology of the World Class members

The objective of the bachelor work is to point out the basic typology of the World Class members within its fitness club located in Venceslas Square and thanks to the obtained results try to come up with possible recommendation for the future marketing strategy. First part is dedicated to the theory and expressions such as marketing, market research, market segmentation, buyer behaviour and questioning. Second part gives a closer look to the fitness,to the company World Class and at last to the specific fitness club in Prague. Chapters explain whole procedure of the market research, the gain of the data and finally the data analysis with its practical explanation.

Processing of a Digital Picture in the Lesson Plan

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice digitálního obrazu. V teoretické části je nejprve specifikován pojem digitální obraz. Dále se práce zabývá digitálním obrazem, jako didaktickou pomůckou a jeho možností při uplatnění ve vzdělávacím procesu. Následující kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na problematiku digitálního obrazu z technického pohledu od principů záznamu až po samotnou prezentaci. Příloha obsahuje ukázky, které nastiňují praktické možnosti využití digitálního obrazu. Součástí práce jsou i elektronické podklady doplňující technicky zaměřenu část. Application of Kickbiking for Visually Impaired People

Title: An application of kickbiking for vizual impaired people Aim: Development of method of training and guiding for vizual impaired people kickbiking. Practical demonstration of this method by author. Method: During the collection of materials for the first approach toward the problem an exploratory method for kickbiking and comparative method to vizual impaired people training were used. Data were obtained primarily from both printed and digital sources. Further information were collected from personal conversation and well aimed questions. The demonstration was performed by two people (visual impaired plus guide) and the most important moments were video recorded. Results The training and guiding method was developed using theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the fields of athletics, skiing, cycling and another activities for visual impaired people. It was modified on the basis of the experience acquired from kickbiking. The final version of this method was demonstrated by a visual impaired of category B2 and a guide and the most important results are discussed. Comparsion of classic and modern authentication methods

Owing to the growing significance of data protection and informatics in general, the importance of information system security counts among the most actual topics at this time. The main goal of this work is to give a comprehensive overview of the issue of users' authentication, including current trends on this field. There are also described the principles and working methods of classic and modern authentication methods, and listed their pros and cons. The main benefit lies in the comparison of these methods as well as in the evaluation of their deployment. As a result of this are suggestions, which can managers take into account when deciding about the method of authentication, and a description of weak points that need an attention. One part of this work also includes a reliability and performance test of modern biometric device.

Development of the rapid reading in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic

Tématem bakalářská práce je vývoj rychlého čtení v Čechách a na Slovensku. Jejím cílem je zmapovat hlavní mezníky v historii problematiky rychlého čtení na území ČR a Slovenska, a zároveň představit principy a metody rychlého čtení. Práce je rozdělena na pět částí. První kapitola pojednává o problematice procesu učení a čtení. Další částí je samotná historie rychlého čtení na našem a slovenském území. Ve třetí kapitole jsou prezentovány techniky rychlého čtení, další způsoby efektivního příjmu informací, struktura kursu rychlého čtení a analýza experimentu. Ve čtvrté části práce uvádí problematiku do kontextu s počítačovým prostředím, kdy je hlavní pozornost upřena na čtivost a čitelnost na počítačové obrazovce. Závěr práce charakterizuje úvaha nad dílem Jana Amose Komenského.
