Analysis of BI data using geographic information system
Jurečka, Jan ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Vacek, Martin (referee)
The topic of the current Master's thesis is Business Intelligence's data presentation using maps. Through integrating BI and geographic information systems a new discipline is emerging - Location Intelligence. The main goal of this thesis is to highlight and analyse reporting possibilities of the BI tools in the framework of maps. The theoretical part of this paper is dedicated to the foundation and principles of geographic information systems and their intersection with BI, where such field as Location Intelligence is being created. In the practical part of the thesis the BI tools IBM Cognos and Oracle BI are compared. The comparison is based on the following criteria: field of implementation, visualization, map external sources and performance. The evaluating criteria are defined in the beginning of the practical part as well as the evaluation method. The methods of analysis and information collecting were used to extract and revise the knowledge from specific electronic and printed sources in Czech or English. Sources for the practical part origin from my technical knowledge of the field of BI, as well as practical experience with implementation of map sources as a feature of Business Intelligence. Statistical methods are used for evaluation of the criteria results. The practical and theoretical value of the thesis lies in creating the lucid comparison of implementation of the map sources into the selected BI tools and options for reporting or visualization of BI data over map. Apart from comparison the framework for implementation of maps into the selected BI tools is established in the above mentioned work.

UTILIZATION OF CLIENTŚ BIOGRAPHY IN THE INDIVIDUAL PLANNING OF SOCIAL SERVICE
LANGOVÁ, Jana
This work is focused on the topic of "The use of Biography in the individual client planning", IE.on the individual planning of social services and the use of one of the models of care. The aim of this work is to determine how biography reflects the user's individual objectives in fulfilling the social services. Individual planning in social services is based on the Act 108/2006 Coll., on social services. This is the individualising care so that adequate support and assistance, which the client needs. One of the options, how to improve the work with the client, to make better use of the information obtained when the individual planning and provision of social services and improve the quality of care, is working with biographies. Working with biographies of the client is being used in the framework of the Psychobiographical model of care of Professor Erwin Bőhm. A great benefit is mainly for the client itself, which in this model is perceived primarily as a man and his biographical history. I opted for fulfilling the objectives of the qualitative form of research. For the purposes of the research method was chosen for an in-depth interview. Of each species was selected halfstructured the type of interview. The talks were questions divided into two circuits. The first concerned the daily activities and habits of communication partners in their natural environment. At home. The second circuit issues was focused, but he was similarly focused on the present, IE. daily activities and habits in the DSP. Evaluation of the obtained data was carried out using the method of creating clumps. As another method I used content analysis, which is the subject of the documents were used in the House welfare Kralovice, p.o. Provider social services allowed me to see and draw data for analysis of the documentation (biographical notes, plans, individual care plans and quality standards and methodology), promotional materials and brochures and Web pages. Sample to be analysed, with 8 of the communication partners has been selected by the deliberate selection and consisted of users of social services in the House welfare Kralovice, p.o. Carried out interviews and document analysis revealed that the biographical approach in the analysis device is screened throughout the care for the elderly. Workers using the biographical approach, utilizing the client, be prepared for a biography of the clients individual plans and plans of care. The results show that the biographical approach applied for clients as a natural activity, as part of the normal day to day care. But at the same time is part of the other (leisure) activities, to which the workers are preparing in advance and which, following on the biography created and adapted to the needs, capabilities and objectives of the user. Working with biographies of the client helps make individual care plans, reflected the specific needs and wishes of the individual. He gets more space for its autonomy, the need to maintain the ability to lead a life according to their own rules. The client has the option to say, is activated and re-activated, kept to himself, is motivated by activities, implemented into the daily schedule, in the planning of care is employed in accordance with the wishes and needs and according to the biography. On the basis of the data it can be concluded that the use of Biography in the practice, you can change the access and the way in which care provided, as well as to development provided by social services. For more helpful biography can be found in the improvement of the life of the user in the residential institutions of social services. Last but not least working with biographies seems like creative work for the staff. From established facts, it is evident that the information from the biography are very well usable and applicable to individual planning. The objective of the work was filled with and research questions are answered.

Genetically modified crops: politics and law of the European Union
Kamínková, Petra ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Lisa, Aleš (referee)
The legal framework for genetically modified crops in Europe is based on the precautionary principle, differing fundamentally from the US system. Where the EU created a complex set of strict rules for dealing with genetically modified crops, the United States continue to view GM crops to be just as safe as conventional crops. This philosophical difference led to one of the most complicated disputes in front of the World Trade Organization. It turned to be ineffective, however, to pressure the EU through the World Trade Organization's dispute settlement. However, it is the current internal conflict between EU member states and the European Commission regarding the authorization procedure for GM crops and the economic ramifications of the zero tolerance policy of unapproved crops on the European livestock industry that might finally bring about change in the European framework.

Macro-prudential policy framework tools by CRD IV / CRR
Konečný, Vojtěch ; Pfeifer, Lukáš (advisor) ; Řežábek, Pavel (referee)
The aim of the thesis was to determine the impact of macro-prudential policies adopted by the transposition of CRD IV and CRR to the legal order of Member States of the European Union, with regard to its interaction with already existing supervisory policies. An important influencing factor turned out to be the question of complementarity and coordination. The results suggest that the stabilizing effect of already established tools -- capital reserve -- is limited in relation to the strength of financial distortion that happen upon financial system. However decisive conclusion can not be made at this point, mainly due to absence of robust quantitative data on working of macro-prudential tools in practice, caused by their relative novelty.

Zicha, Jiří ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Smolek, Martin (referee) ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (referee)
Legal problems of biodiversity conservation, dissertation JUDr. Ji í Zicha, supervisor: prof. JUDr. Milan Damohorský, DrSc. Charles University, Faculty of Law, Department of Environemntal Law Prague, September 2010 The aim of the dissertation is to confront legal and institutional framework of conservation of biodiversity with its biological principles and most serious current threats, and assess to which extend are these systems and phenomenons in conformity and where eventually exist gaps and shortages. As a method of this confrontation was chosen an overview and analysis of relevant sources of law and other related information in the context of each level of biodiversity, and further in the context of several substantive and legal connections. With respect to characteristics of biodiversity which, similarly as other components of environment, does not respect borders created artificially by man, international law of global and regional scope plays a crucial role. It is valid almost without any reservation for nearly homogenous marine environment, in case of terrestrial environment some physical and geographical framgmentation can be observed and the role of particular state with its internal legal regime is more important. Individual issues are therefore primarily discussed from the point of...

Czech-British and British-Czech Cultural Standards
Dufková, Gabriela ; Křečková Kroupová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Khelerová, Vladimíra (referee)
Despite a close geographical position to the Czech Republic, there are vast differences between the Czech and British cultures. Commonly after arriving in Britain, many Czech nationals experience a cultural shock and do not understand the behaviour of the British people. The same can be said about Britons arriving in the Czech Republic. This makes it important to understand the cultural differences to help both nationals interact successfully with one another. This Master thesis focuses on cultural standards, a concept made by Alexander Thomas. Therefore, this report aims to define the Czech-British and British-Czech cultural standards, whilst comparing them with the theory and then to apply them in a cultural-historic framework. This report will hypothesise that the defined cultural standards do not differ from the standards analysed within the book by Karel Čapek. Other hypothesis of this thesis is: Many Britons see Czech people as over-caring and anxious. In conclusion to this report, the author will provide recommendations to both Czech nationals travelling to Great Britain and also the same for British descendants arriving within the Czech Republic.

From Developmentalism to Mobilisation: The Case of Georgian Violent Transition
Střítecký, Vít ; Drulák, Petr (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis seeks to conceptualize a link between the phenomenona of developmentalist state and ethnopolitical mobilization while arguing that the study of post-developmental transition should be based on a complex framework involving crucial social, economic, and political processes. The argument begins with the overview of the approaches of the late/post-Soviet transition, which are critically assessed on the basis of their anchoring in the modernization paradigm. The thesis then turns to the formulation of the alternative theoretical explanation based on the sound theoretical observations from the field of historical sociology. The theoretical debate leads to the formulation of the model involving three causal mechanisms connecting the macro and micro levels. Empirically, the thesis argues that Georgian violent mobilization resulted from the processes that were determined by the functioning and decline of the Soviet developmentalist state. While accepting the dynamics of ethnopolitical mobilization it seeks to answer the question which socio-economic processes breed these mobilizations.

Availability of social services for seniors in the Karlovarsky region now and in 50 years
Zelinka, Jan ; Kouřilová, Jana (advisor) ; Prudká, Šárka (referee)
Master thesis aims to evaluate the accessibility of social services in Karlovarsky region. The thesis is focused on the demographics of seniors and social services intended for them, specifically retirement homes. In addition to analyzing the accessibility of social services is elaborated demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years. In the theoretical part is described the definition of social policy and the fundamental theoretical principles, types and functions. This part also describes the legislative framework of social policy in the Czech Republic. In relation to social policy are presented issues of community planning as a tool for the implementation of social policy in the Karlovarsky region. The conclusion of theoretical part is devoted to the theory of demographic projections and describes the basic projection methods. The practical part in the introduction focuses on general and demographic characteristics of the Karlovarsky region and the current state of social services for the elderly, specifically homes for the elderly. The second half of the practical part presents a demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years and is focusing on senior component whose proportion in the population will increase. This projection is calculated by the component method without migration. The conclusion of the practical part is comparing the initial state of social services and the anticipated development of seniors. It also describes community plan in the Karlovarsky region with emphasis on the development of social services for seniors. Documents drawn up by the Karlovarsky region on issues of social services and conclusions of this thesis suggest that there is no need to increase capacity, but rather to focus on the change in the structure of users and ensure that these services are provided to people whose health condition really requires this kind of complex social care.
