Power Spot Market of the European Energy Exchange and Its Influence on the Czech Power Market
Vavřičková, Jana ; Červinka, Michal (advisor) ; Krištoufek, Ladislav (referee)
The main purpose of the thesis is providing a detailed description of the clearing process on power spot market of European Energy Exchange (EEX), in view of the algorithmic methods employed. The thesis encompasses the mathematical formulation of the discrete optimization problem solved in the price determination process while the algorithm searches for such combination of block and hourly orders to be executed that would minimize the social cost associated to the chosen combination of orders. The market and network constraints typical for electricity trading are considered by the algorithm in the price determination process. The first chapter also provides the reader with basic knowledge of the trading on the Prague-based Power Exchange Central Europe. The last chapter contains an empirical analysis of the spot prices of the Czech and German power markets, which uses vector autoregression to test the hypothesis of dependance of the development of Czech spot energy prices on their German counterparts. Key words: EEX, PXE, spot markets, clearing process, COSMOS, discrete optimization, branch- and-bound

Deformation index for tablets of microcrystalline cellulose
Myslivečková, Jana ; Řehula, Milan (advisor) ; Musilová, Marie (referee)
Myslivečková Jana - Rigorózní práce - 2006 This work deals with deformation index of tablets of microcrystalline cellulose. Theoretical part describes the theory of tablet formation by means of the record force - displacement. It also characterizes microcrystalline celluloses. The aim of the work was to find out the influence of a filler on the parameter E2 of the compression process and on the parameter DE of the destruction process. Further to asses the influence of the relation between parameters DE, D and E2,DE and effect of the filler type on new parameter DI. Six various fillers were tested. Ceolus KG 802 Avicel PH 102, Avicel PH 200, Pearlitol 100 SD, Tablettose 70, and Emcompress. The results show that polymeric microcrystalline celluloses accumulate less energy at compression than crystalline compounds. However, they have higher value of D. Microcrystalline celluloses have the highest values of the parameter DI. A semilogarithmic dependence was found between the parameters D and DE.

The Personality of Ralph Vaughan Williams with a view to an Analysis of his 8th Symphony
Velická, Helena ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Nedělka, Michal (referee) ; Portych, Jiří (referee) ; Pecháček, Stanislav (referee)
Vaughan Williams was an extraordinary ordinary man and a very great composer who has reached during his lifetime the hearts of a very large section of his countrymen. Music was the mainspring of his being and he put all that he knew into his music. The essential importance of this composer consists in symphonic and song work. He is an author of nine symphonies, ballet, film music and five operas but the very best success reached he with his choral works. He found the basis and inspiration in the music of his own land and has devoted a good deal of energy to the collecting and arranging of folksongs. The influence of that association on his work is obvious but it is egually evident that he is far from being merely an imitator of folksong. The accents of traditional melody appeal to him but his mode of expression is his own - it is wholly personal and it makes use of passing dissonance in a way which no study of folk melodies could possibly have suggested. He was a friend and admirer of romantics but showed distaste for several favourite romantic emotions. His style is half traditional half modern and that is why his music is understandable. Modelling snow accumulation and melting in the Bystřice River basin
Kutláková, Lucie ; Daňhelka, Jan (referee) ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor)
Dealing with the issue of spring flood events is primarily based on their causes. It is therefore important to study the processes of snow accumulation and snowmelt especially in mountain areas where the development of snow water equivalent (SWE) is primarily observed. The snow water equivalent indicates amount of the water in the snow and thus represents a runoff volume during the spring melting period and demonstrates the flood risk potential. In this thesis the lumped modelling approach of the rainfall-runoff model HEC- HMS was used. The model was applied in the Bystřice River basin in the Ore Mountains where the field measurements of the snow cover and SWE is carried out. Applied temperature-index method is the well-developed method because it takes into account both the melting during precipitation and melting in the period without any precipitation and aims to capture snow energy balance by means of air temperature. Three winter periods (2006, 2008 and 2009) were simulated. The evolution of the snow water equivalent was observed and the agreement between observed and simulated hydrographs was assessed in the closure profile Ostrov. Published results show the influence of winter course and character on the model capability to simulate the snow water equivalent and runoff. The observed and...

Generation of computer program for specific-heat analysis
Majer, Peter ; Ježek, Lukáš (referee) ; Javorský, Pavel (advisor)
This work is about to design and implement the speci c-heat analysis application. The application consists of two parts: the rst one provides for data manipulation, the second one plots a graph. The data manipulation part resembles a spreadsheet program - each column in a dataset stands for one measurement. Columns containing a temperature data could be used for a speci c-heat calculation. This calculation is based on this model functions: conduction electrons consideration, phonon contribution and Schottky contribution. It is also possible to arrange your own formulas by using basic mathematical operations (namely summation, substraction, multiplication and division). Fitting data to the selected model is also possible. Levenberg-Marquardt and simplex method are being used for it. Hamiltonian matrix used for energy levels calculations of magnetic ions in crystalline electric elds could also be calculated. The application is written in C# programming language.

Vliv nových technologií v energetice na domácnosti
Novák, Dominik ; Strouhal, Jiří (advisor) ; Žádník, Josef (referee)
This masters thesis aims to assess and evaluate the potential of home based energy storage systems for the final user. In theoretical part it therefore describes the historical development of the European power sector with the purpose of determining, what was the impact of this development on products offered by energy providers to the final consumers of electricity. Findings from this analysis are then used to design a model, which is introduced and described in the practical part of the masters thesis. This model is afterwards used to assess the profitability of home batteries implementation by three different types of households and also to determine, what are the key drivers and constraints for the adoption of energy storage systems by households.

Sázelová, Petra ; Koval, Dušan ; Severa, Lukáš ; Reyes Gutierrez, Paul Eduardo ; Jirásek, Michael ; Teplý, Filip ; Kašička, Václav
The recently developed capillary electrophoretic (CE) method for chiral analysis of helquats (helical N-heteroaromatic dications) was applied to monitoring of racemization of selected helquats and helquat styryl dyes and for the determination of their racemization barriers, i.e. activation Gibbs free energy deltaG≠. deltaG≠ of analyzed compounds was found to be in the range 107.7 – 115.7 kJ/mol.

Integration of Photovoltaic Power Plants in the Electricity System
Michl, Pavel ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The thesis discuses an integration of photovoltaic power stations to electric network. The first part describes connecting conditions of small sources to distribution system, including administrative requirements, feasibility study, and requirements to the energy meters, measuring, control devices, switching devices and protection. The second part is aimed to describe problems of the photovoltaic system. Solar radiation generating and reducing of its intensity incident upon the earth surface are described in this part. The quantum of produced electric power depends on climatic conditions in the fixed area, seasons, etc. This work also discusses the types of photovoltaic cells and their actual efficiency. Inverters are further important components of the photovoltaic system. The parameters of the inverters have a great influence on the total actual efficiency of the photovoltaic system. Different methods of the photovoltaic panels’ connection with the inverters and their advantages and disadvantages are also mentioned. The supporting structure of the photovoltaic panels and eventually transformer are further important components of photovoltaic system. The work also analyze the methods of connection of the photovoltaic power station to distributive low voltage and medium voltage network, electric energy accumulation and possibilities of the sale of produced electric energy. The large number of the connected photovoltaic power stations has negative influences to electric network. The third part contains the design of a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 516,24 kWp on the scoped area in southern Bohemia. The project documentation for the location where the power plant is designed is also made. It contains the design of photovoltaic panels, the design of the inverters to get an optimal power load. This part also contains a calculation of the photovoltaic system losses and the design of transformer and the cable junction calculation of the distributive system. The feasibility study of the power plant connected to distributive system is also conducted. Its delivery rate will be connected to the distribution point Řípov (110/22 kV). The calculation results show us that this photovoltaic power plant can be linked to the distribution system. The final part of this paper contains an economic estimate of the photovoltaic power plant operating and the calculation of the return. An Economic return is influenced by the wide range of values that affect the total return rate. The calculation of an operating economy is made for several variants. The return rate in refer to contemporary redemption price for 2010 with no consideration for a bank loan is 7 years. If we consider the bank loan it would be 12 years. The penetrative reduction of the redemption price is expected for 2011. Calculation works with the decline of 30 %. It would extend the rate of return to 11 years without a bank loan or to 22 years with the bank loan. The bank loan is considered to cover 80 % of the investment.

Distribution of the turbulent kinetic dissipation rate in an agitated vessel
Kysela, Bohuš ; Sulc, R. ; Konfršt, Jiří ; Chára, Zdeněk ; Fořt, I. ; Ditl, P.
The design of the agitated tanks depends on the proposed operating conditions and processes\nfor that they are used for. Namely dissipation rate of the turbulent kinetic energy is important\nparameter for the scale-up modelling. The dissipation rate is commonly determined as integral\nvalue based on power input of the impeller, but without information about distribution inside\nthe agitated volume. The cumulative distributions of the dissipation rate within an agitated\nvessel are estimated by evaluations of the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) results,\nwhere the data was obtained from RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations) and\nLES (Large Eddy Simulations). The simulations were performed for an agitated vessel\nequipped with four baffles and stirred by a standard Rushton turbine (tank diameter 0.3 m,\nimpeller diameter 0.1 m, off-bottom clearance half of tank diameter, impeller speed 200 rpm).\nThe values of the dissipation rate from the LES calculations were approximated by computing\nthe SGS (Sub Grid Scale) dissipation rate.

The Specifics of the nursing care in catering for long- term dialysis patients
ŠRÁMEK, Kamil
Haemodialysis is a method of removing waste substances such as potassium, urea and excess water from the blood during renal failure. Hemodialysis is one of three renal replacement therapies. Other treatments are a kidney transplant and peritoneal dialysis. Hemodialysis can be performed either in the hemodialysis center, or in a hospital, but home hemodialysis is not too frequent. Eating for dialysis patients differs significantly from the forward dialysis diet period. A well balanced diet is the foundation of everything. The patient may neither be malnourished, nor to have surplus of any components in their diet. A diet for patients in dialysis program must meet two basic requirements; the diet must provide enough energy and substances needed by the body mainly amino acids required for the production of protein, calcium, vitamins, iron, restrict certain substances that accumulate in the body is harmful, for example, fluid restriction, excess protein from which the formation of urea, excess phosphorus, which accelerated calcification of blood vessels, excess potassium, which at high levels in the blood can cause heart rhythm disturbances. Qualitative research was carried out by interview. The interview contained a total of twenty semi-structured questions and was prepared in advance. Each interview was anonymous and each respondent had the opportunity to refuse it. With the consent of the respondent and the ward nurse, the interview was recorded on a tape recorder and later adapted into an electronic form, which became the basis for the research. From the research arose categories. Qualitative research file conducted in hospitals Prachatice, České Budějovice and Třebíč. The research sample consisted of five respondents in the Nemocnice Prachatice a. s. Another research sample consisted of five respondents in Nemocnice Třebíč and two respondents in the Nemocnice České Budějovice a. s. All respondents were patients who regularly attend to hemodialysis centers in these cities. Interviews with respondents were conducted from February to April 2014. In the Nemocnice České Budějovice a. s. the research survey was conducted with the consent of the Deputy for nursing care, Mgr. Kyselová. In Nemocnice Prachatice a. s. the research survey was conducted with the consent of the head nurse in the hospital Janoušková and in the Nemocnice Třebíč the research was conducted with the consent of the Deputy for nursing care Mgr. Andělová. The results of the survey provide mapping meals in the hospital for long-term dialysis patients. The benefits of the research will be to develop an information leaflet on the topic: The importance of catering for dialysis patients.
