This document analyzes factors of consumer and income taxes in the Czech Republic since 1993 and assesses risk and benefits associated with transition between both taxes.

Solidarity and equivalence in social insurance system
Běloch, Petr ; Krebs, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Vybíralová, Ivana (referee)
Solidarity and equivalence are basic principles on which is built not only social policy, but also the underlying structure of society as a whole. If the people's look at these principles doesn't correspond to their integration in social security systems, people find it as unjust and the social policy as illegitimate. It will be a task for new government elected in 2010 to solve long lasting problems derived from negative impacts of aging society together with more legitimate setting of solidarity and equivalence. This work analyzes income inequality in Czech Republic compared with other countries, follows the development of replacement rate of retirement pay to wage in time and in comparison with the level of previous income. The work compares the observed data with people's views on the pension system which are presented in the public opinion research. Next part compares two different approaches to solve the "pension crisis" -- the Swedish system of virtual accounts and the Chilean fully funded scheme -- and outlines a new pension system, which doesn't create explicit costs during transition from the current system, increases the involvement of merit principle, supresses excessive redistribution and thus constitutes a long-term sustainable system solution.

Migration of labour force in the context of an enlarged Europe
Polačková, Lenka ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
My thesis deals with intra-EU migration, its motivation factors and then compares the advantages and disadvantages of migration. Free movement of workers is discussed in the next chapter as well as the key mobility drivers and its barriers. The thesis further deals with division of EU member states into receiving and sending countries. Future mobility intentions are analyzed in order to forecast the most probable moves in the future. In its last chapter it mentions labour mobility and ways how to measure it and then it analyses voluntary and forced mobility. In the following part labour mobility is compared to geographical mobility to see their practical implications. The eastern enlargement of the EU has brought some doubts about a massive inflow of labour migrants from the CEE countries to the old member states which has led to the introduction of transitional measures limiting free access to their labour markets. Therefore the main purpose of the thesis is to confirm or refuse the old member states' arguments that a potential migration from the new member states would threaten their labour markets.

The basis for this work are publications on foreign proper nouns in Czech. These consist of codification handbooks and other relevant works on the Czech language, several works on names from a particular language and also various dictionaries, encyclopedias, history textbooks and other publications to certain extent touching the subject. These are confronted with a vast research, the first part of which is an excerption from publications written or translated by thirteen experts on the history of Portuguese speaking countries and on the literature of Portugal and Brazil. The second part analyzes one hundred of respondents inflecting names of five well-known figures of either Portugal or Brazil past and present. Results are...
