Populist tendencies in the election programs of established political parties since 2008

Thesis called "Populist tendencies in the election programs of established political parties since 2006" is focused on presence of populism by traditional Czech political parties. At the beginning the thesis tries to define populism, describe its basic elements and confronts them after with an individual election programs of researched parties. These researched parties are ČSSD, ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL. From the analysis of election programs should be obvious which elements of populism individual parties use and what is their amount. This thesis aims to find out how these established parties take a stand to these topics, most often used by Czech politics. In the next part it will attempt to explain how these tendencies get to the programs, whether as a response to the phenomenon of the time or in response to other political parties. In the end there will be paid attention to promises which could be defined as populist and if they were fulfilled when the parties got mandates.

How Do Ordinary Party Members Perceive Themselves? The Case of the KDU-ČSL

The thesis How Do Ordinary Party Members Perceive Themselves? The Case of the KDU-CSL explores both the relation between an ordinary party member and his political party and his role within the party. Therefore, the subject or our research represents the ordinary party member of the KDU-CSL defined as a member without any elected or executive political office. The theoretical framework of the thesis refers to a range authors concerning with political parties and their organisational aspects. The principal empirical part of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of party members in two Czech regions - Prague and the South Moravian region. The thesis is based on the primary qualitative research (semi-structured in-depth interviews and content textual analysis) conducted by the author herself.

The Europeanization of Party Programs in New Member States

This work deals with the Europeanization of party programs in new member states. Two parties are examined over the period of three consecutive elections. A detailed introduction to the research field of Europeanization is given. In the second part the Hypothesis are tested. As countries are Poland and Czech Republic chosen. For Poland the Platforma Obywatelska will be examined. The Czech party is the KDU - CSL. This work tries to prove that Europeanization is increasing over time, that different policy areas are Europeanized and European integration has gained more importance the longer the EU membership of the country is. The elections 2012: analysis of the media aspectof the election campaign of KDU-ČSL

The atmosphere of the election campaign before the elections in October 2012 was not such fierce as during the last campaign. It was mainly due to absence of a major topic that would polarise the society, like the health fees in 2008. The ČSSD tried to find a similar controversial topic that might have been the church restitutions for a moment. The purpose of the negative campaign was to discourage people from voting the governmental parties ODS and TOP 09, but it also could weaken the KDU-ČSL that was and still is closely connected with churches, especially the catholic church. The representatives of the KDU-ČSL themselves didn't publish any opinions concerning this matter, with only few exceptions. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the media output of the KDU-ČSL during the election campaign that was run before the elections to the regional governments and the Senate. In the first part, the main leaders of the KDU-ČSL are introduced, following by a detailed description of the campaigns in the respective regions and the senate circuits. Development of Right Wing Political Parties in the Czech Republic in 1996-2006

My goal in this work is analyzing of developement of czech systemic right wing parties between 1996 and 2006. I will research every czech systemic right wing party, which was in this time in Chamber of Deputies of Parlament of the Czech Republic. While Civic Democratic Party is traditionally one of two most strong czech political parties and Christian Democratic Union - Czechoslovak People's Party was in this time every terms in Chamber of Deputies too, other right-wing parties experienced many changes. After establishing of Miloš Zeman's government, tolered by Civic Democratic Party, smaller right wing parties established Four-coalition. These parties have had differend life story. While Union of freedom and Christian democratic union - Czechoslovak people's party were in Chamber of Deputies, Civic Democratic Alliance didn't také place in parlamentary elections in 1998 and Democratic Union wasn't in Chamber of Deputies. Later, Democratic Union was united with Union od Freedom. Four-coalition couldn't také place in parlamentary elections in 2002, because Civic Democratic Alliance was sacked from this coalition because of financial troubles. 4-Coalition- anomaly or the expression of the systemic tendency? Case study of the Czech party system

v anglickém jazyce: This study focuses on the analysis of former Czech political project of "4-Coalition", which was established by four Czech oppositional parties (KDU-ČSL, US, ODA and DEU) in the years 1998 - 2002. This analysis is done through the case study, which focuses on the development of "4-Coalition" in its three developmental stages: from the cooperation of the sovereign parties, throw the formalized platform of party cooperation to the project of "4- Coalition" as a peculiar actor of the Czech politics. The analysis of ideological background, program and personnel questions shows the potential tensions, that arose inside of "4- Coalition", gives them in the appropriate historical context and analyses its causes. These tensions together with the external factors are viewed as a fundamental cause of the final failure of the project of "4-Coalition" and its disintegration. The aim of this study is to answer the question, whether it is possible in party system perspective to speak about "4-Coalition" as a potential third pole of the Czech party system, or whether it is anomaly, which the systemic tendency to the bipolar configuration doesn't infringe. Marketing Communication of Political Party KDU-ČSL in Elections to the Chamber of Deputies in May 2010

Bachelor thesis Marketing Communication of Political Party KDU-ČSL in Elections to the Chamber of Deputies in May 2010 analyzes communication led by the party KDU-ČSL before these elections. In the first part, it focuses on the party itself, its position on Czech political scene, characteristics of its voters, program, behavior and other attributes. Furthermore, it deals not only with the official campaign, but also with other communication that was performed by KDU-ČSL before the elections; this includes for example appearances in media, public relations or controversial issues of party members. Evaluation of the communication follows, along with possible reasons why KDU-ČSL was unsuccessful in these elections. In the last part, the thesis contains suggestions that could in the future possibly lead to better results in elections and to re-entry to Chamber of Deputies.

Diploma thesis "The Preferential voting of the Koalice voters in the elections for the Chamber of Deputies in 2002. Never more with the KDU-ČSL into the coalition" is concerned with the preferential voting of the Koalice voters in the elections in 2002 in selected electoral districts which are The Liberec Region, The Hradec Králové Region and The Zlín Region. The thesis focuses especially on the question in how big municipalities gained the KDU-ČSL and the US-DEU canditates the highest support from voters, wheter there was a connection between the distribution of preferential votes for the KDU-ČSL candidates and theUS-DEU voters of the Koalice in 2002 with distribution of preferential votes for these parties by the Čtyřkoalice voters in the regional elections in 2000; whether the structure of municipalities, in which the Koalice voters in 2002 and the KDU-ČSL and the US voters in 1998 in the elections for the PSP ČR bestowed the highest and the lowest percentage of preferential notes, was different; whether the proportion of preferential votes for the KDU-ČSL and the US-DEU candidates was connected with a local variability of the chosen sociodemografic variables and what was the distribution of regional electoral support of the best succesful candidates in 2002.
