European Low Cost Air Transport

The thesis deals with the issues of the low cost carriers and analyses the features of the European low cost airlines. It contains analysis of the differences between low cost airlines and traditional airlines and enumerates the fields where the low cost airlines reduce their costs. The thesis explains the impact of low prices of air tickets on services provided by low fare airlines. There is also a comparison of the air ticket prices and other fares among various airlines on selected route as well as reference to some failed and discontinued projects.
Airline marketing

My final work should analyze aviation industry from an economic perspective, the main theme will be differences between traditional operators and low-cost operators. The most important part is analysis of the marketing mix, where the main part of air transport are undoubtedly product and price. Result of my work will be a product portfolio that summarizes all the findings in a summary table.
Satellite Navigation Systems and the Utilization in Tourism

The bachelor thesis is concerned with satellite navigation systems (SNS) and their utilization in tourism. The first part of the thesis is focused on historical facts and a development of SNS. The next part deals with the functioning of SNS, both in space and in GPS devices and also with a map software which is essential to operation of GPS devices. The third part discusses the operation of SNS in the world, focusing on the European regional navigation system EGNOS and global navigation system Galileo which is planned to be launched in 2014. The next chapter is focused on the implementation of satellite navigation systems in the tourism, mainly on road transport, aviation, sea navigation, railway transport, tourism, sport and leisure activities. The fifth part deals with the analysis of selling of classic navigation devices and mobile phones with GPS plug-in modules and is concerned also with the most important producers of classic navigation devices and smartphones. The last chapter outlines future development of satellite navigation systems and presents the latest trends of navigation technologies, especially launched in transport.
Implication of financial crisis in financial strategy of the Czech Airlines company

This thesis is at the beginning dealing with issues of formation and dissemination of the financial crisis and its impacts in 2007-2009. It briefly states the overall development of this crisis and its spread throughout the world. More specifically, it describes its impact on air transport industry in Europe and in Czech republic, analyzes the overall progress and developments in the time of crisis in air transport and its impact on European airports and airlines. Its main focus is specifically the Czech national carrier Czech Airlines. The main part of this thesis deals with brief description of the CSA company, its overall development and the state before the crisis. In detail then, it monitors the implications of this financial crisis in the strategic decisions of the company in 2008-2010, states and analyzes all the undertaken measures and specifies the financial strategy of the company itself, influenced by the consequences of the global financial crisis and deep recession in the aviation sector. At the end of this thesis it is an overall evaluation of these strategies and measures, it is analysed and predicted the future development of Czech Airlines company in subsequent years.
Low-cost airlines´ marketing activities

Theoretical part of thesis considers basic information about aviation industry in Czech republic, classification of air transport and airline companies. This part also describes specifics of airline marketing, especially low-cost airline marketing. The thesis follows on with a practical part. There is introduced SmartWings brand and judged marketing activities together with marketing mix. The target of the thesis is to reveal shortcomings in SmartWings marketing activities and to find their solutions.
Strategic analysis of Airbus and Boeing

The market for large commercial aircraft is in turn dominated by the duopoly of Airbus SAS, a division of EADS, and Boeing Commercial Airplanes, a division of The Boeing Company. My Aim is to describe the current strategic and financial situation of the two largest companies in the aerospace industry with a particular focus on the divisions supplying Large Commercial Aircraft. I describe the production of civil airliners in the whole context of the current global economic situation and the future of aviation. Strategic analysis using methods like PESTLE analysis, PORTER 5F and SWOT focuses mainly on the analysis of macro environment in relation to the companies and aviation business as it is the main driver of aviation expansion. The success of business strategies of both companies will influence the air traffic in the future, determine its nature, quality and availability for customers. Strategic analysis of the intense mutual competition will summarize the main company strategies and their current financial situation. Air traffic development is closely connected to the subject and is also analyzed. Source materials for the analysis are Airbus and Boeing annual reports, public corporate documents, press articles and journals on the topic of aviation and transportation, public IATA reports and other expert studies and forecasts are also used.
Aviation and it’s role in the world freigt transportation

The aim of the work is to analyze the role of aviation in global freight traffic from the early development of aviation, discussing the problem of development of the aviation industry; than focusing on cargo aviation, describing the process of air cargo transportation and the important nuances associated with this process. Another objective is to identify the advantages and disadvantages of air-freight industry and describing the factors which influence customer's choice of delivery of goods by air. An important and perhaps most transparent part of the work is comparing of the world's transport capacities in different years and different countries and comparing the current situation of air and sea freight transportation.
Analysis of marketing mix of airlines in the light of emergence of low-cost operators

The principal aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse inovative approaches and procedures of low-cost airlines that brought air transport to a broader mass of customers. This work also explores marketing specifics of the airline industry, discusses ticket pricing and ticket distribution issues, advertising opportunities, quality and product range issues. Later, it deals with enviromental challenges facing aviation. The final section formulates recommendations that will enable further revenue increases for low-cost carriers.
Analysis of on-board services provided

The main goal of the study is an overview of inflight services provided by members of the global alliance Sky Team. The air traffic significance and its history are outlined in the first part of the study with the respect to the importance of the air transport for aircraft industry and tourism. There is a particular subsection devoted to the gobal alliances issue. There are crucial differences between low-cost and traditional concepts described, as well as the related passenger segmantations. In the last part of the study, there are in-flight services of the Sky Team members analysed, basaed on the pre-set parameters within the travel classes.
CSR Strategy in Aviation

This thesis deals with the general concept of Corporate Social Resonsibility (CSR), its principles and contributions which have been applied to the air transport market. The first chapter defines the notion of CSR, analyzes three pillars of sustainable development and discusses the opinions that fundamentally reject the CSR concept. The second and the third chapter look at the aviation industry from the sustainable development point of view. Discussion about social contributions of the air transport and current topics concerning sustainability are a basis for the theoretical model of CSR which has been constructed with regard to unique industry features. Execution of CSR policy is being analyzed in the last chapter. The CSR initiatives of the airline company are evaluated in terms of their impact on the company overall performance.
