Kolářová, Kateřina ; Procházka, Martin (advisor) ; Mergenthal, Silvia (referee) ; Schülting, Sabine (referee)
1 Kateřina Kolářová Department of English and American Studies Anglo-American Literary Studies (English Resumé) Know Yourself: Write Yourself! Queer Subjects and the Constructions of Gender and Sexual Identity at the Turn of the 19th Century The thesis examines the normative structures that shape and pre-determine the construction of the gender and sexual identities at the turn of the nineteenth century in the British context. The focus of the study is the critical investigation of the binary - heteronormative - logic that governs the formation of these identities. The concern with gender intelligibility (and the "matrix of intelligibility") reflects the thesis's critical engagement with the technology that subjects the possibilities of identification, and in fact forms of subjectivity, to logic of specific governance. The second overarching concern of the thesis represents the attempt to encompass the diversity of the practices that the individual queer selves devise in the process of self-writing and making sense of themselves. Bringing together three diverse case studies - based upon the autobiographic texts of John Addington Symonds (1840-93), 'Michael Field' [Katherine Bradley (1849-1914) and Edith Cooper (1862-1913)], and Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) - the thesis explores the strategies of (gendered)...

Development of Public Policy Study in Europe : Czech Study of Public Policy in European Context (Comparing the Cases of France, Germany and the Czech Republic) PhD. thesisr: Vilém Novotný English abstract This PhD. thesis deals with an issue of study of public policy which is considered to be a specific subdiscipline of political sciences. The study of public policy encompasses all approaches that are engaged in research of public policy. In the issue of public policy study is attention focused, in explorative way, on development of public policy study. This aim is pursued from moderate constructivist positions at two levels. At the first, theoretical, level, it is interested in question how to study the development of public policy study. It attempts to formulate general analytical frame which could be used as a comparative grid as well. Its main reference framework is represented by Peter deLeon's model of advice and consent (supply and demand model) (deLeon, 1988) and model devised for an analysis of Canadian political science development by John Trent and Michael Stein (Trent, 1987; Trent, Stein, 2002; Stein, 1998). The analytical frame is designed under assumption of interaction between the subdiscipline and its national and international environment. In the concrete case it deals with mutual...

The Myth of the Analogia Entis: Karl Barth's Doctrine of Secular Misery in Weimar Context.

The Myth of the Analogia Entis: Karl Barth's Doctrine of Secular Misery in Weimar Context Eric J. Titus Abstract: To understand the content of Barth, one must understand the context of Barth. This paper begins with an effort to effectively tie Barth's doctrine of the analogia entis to the realities of Barth's Weimar context. Only by binding these two elements together does a clear picture emerge of Barth's understanding and utilization of the analogia entis. Egressing from this picture is that Barth's rejection of the analogia entis is not esoteric rhetoric against Roman Catholic theology. It is a theological rejoinder rather born out of engagement with the ethos of National Socialism and connatural ideologies which delivered the Protestant Church and German Society over to a "secular misery" via the myth of the analogia entis. This contextual understanding demonstrates that Barth viewed the analogia entis as primarily a Protestant issue and only tangentially as a Protestant-Catholic issue. The study concludes with an examination of the evangelical movement in the United States as a contemporary case study for the need to recover Barth's contextual formulation of the analogia entis.

Darwin's Ontology (The Consequences of Reciprocity)
Ostdiek, Gerald Robert ; Koubová, Alice (advisor) ; Markoš, Anton (referee) ; Hvorecký, Juraj (referee)
This essay follows a path laid down by the collaboration of Charles Darwin with Chauncey Wright, so as to explore the niche subsequently developed by Wright's closest friends, especially William James and Charles Peirce. Charles Darwin offered us no definition of life, and certainly no definition of being; he seems never to have been particularly interested in either his theological studies or any of the philosophy that happened his way. However by definition, he did operate by means of - and through the agency therein - a specific ontological set. His was one wherein the quickening of life is reciprocal becoming. Despite the obvious efficacy and élan this set has offered and vast libraries devoted to the man, Darwin's Ontology remains woefully under studied. And yet Darwin did specifically engage Wright to develop philosophical considerations of his science, a study which came to demand a redefinition of thinking itself, of sapience, and of the consequences of rationality which include the various constructions we call science and religion, knowing and believing, culture and self, but also cause and effect, existence and being, and more. We will follow the various streams of influence and chart some of the confluences therein, primarily through the immediate encounter of Wright with Darwin, and then on to...

Mission of seriously ill and dying
ČERNÝ, Petr
The work is engaged in research, whether seriously ill and dying have in their suffering a mission. The theoretical part process knowledges especially of Catholic theology, plus the view of psychology and personal experiences in helping workers and volunteers from hospice care. The practical part deals with the analysis of qualitative research in a sample population of the Czech Republic. The comparative part compares results of the theoretical part with the practical part, analyzes the similarities and differences and examines what it means for pastoral work. After the evaluation is outlined, how could the pastoral work capacitate seriously ill and dying in the acceptance of their mission in suffering. The result of this work is the finding that the majority of a sample of Czech respondents (56 %) of the total 128 respondents - mission of seriously ill and dying sees, 10 % do not knows, 14 % never thought about it and 20 % sees any mission. The most important task, according to Catholic theology is {\clq}qreconciliation with himself, with others and with God.`` Practical research showed that the greatest sense of the suffering of seriously ill and dying brings benefit for surrounding people, specifically in the {\clq}qawareness of the price of life and health, their mortality, rearrange values`` Most preferred {\clq}qspiritual sense of suffering``, according to the public lies in the {\clq}qsacrifice of suffering on the intention``. Results of comparison mean for the pastoral work the challenge to help find seriously ill and dying people the mission in their suffering, specifically in their participation on the saving suffering of Christ. Another important task of the pastoral workers is to help society acquire a dignified view of man in suffering and have genuine compassion with him, expressed also by deeds of charity.

Johannes Hempel in his works till 1945
Kovács, Kristián ; Prudký, Martin (advisor) ; Čapek, Filip (referee)
I am trying to summarize life and theological work of Johannes Hempel till 1945. He was interested in special topics of Ethics of ancient Israel and Questions of profetic literature. By my research I was trying to include life and work of Johannes Hempel in his era and teological schools, define his work and compare it with other Old Testament scholars of his era. With reference to political situation of contemporar Germany (NS Regime) I prefer to accent Hempel's political ideas and engagement. At the end of my work I was trying to reflect validity and applicability of Hempel's concepts in relation with the newest research of Old Testament. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Score of combine harvester with a different threshing device at harvest of cereals and oilseed rape in the business of agricultural production
HRACH, Milan
The purpose of this work was to compare aktivity and grade work combine harvester with different threshing system at harvesting a grain and oilseed rape in the business of agricultural production. Work was focuse on the size harvesting losses, grade grind and spreading crop residues, influence on the moisture of harvested crops on the size losses grade grind and spreading crop residues, throughput combine harvester, analysis of performance and consumption fuel. Work is complete about principal parametr agricultural operations, principal parametr owner machines and simply analysis of operating and investment costs. Although combine harvester didn't work at same land, measurement was done in the most consistent as possible in harvested condition regarding the weather, terrain, etc. From results are clearly that almost all the results achieved best results with a conventional combine harvester threshing mechanism Claas Lexion 580. Exception was only throughput at harvest of winter oilseed rape, which had machine John Deere S 690 with axial threshing of 1.23 kg ha-1 higher than Claas Lexion 580. Consumption fuel was lower at harvest of winter wheat with procrastination straw on the line by machine Claas Lwxion 670 with value 11,0 l.ha-1. . When shredding straw was reached average values for all combine. The worst grind and spread straw demonstrated combine harvester John Deere S 690 where avoid spreading crop residues over the entire stroke. All machines accomplish agro-technical requirements for the combine in terms of losses off 1,5 % in direct harvest, performance, throughput, quality scatter chop, shred the quality of crop residues and working speed. Results this work convince me to recommend harvester Claas Lexoon 580 especially for large agricultural business and for service businesses with minimum efficiency 1 340 ha.rok-1 . For smaller business or business with higer structure of livestock production I would have chosed thresher with straw walker technology separation device and to Claas Lexion 670. Combine harvester John Deere S 690 U would advised more for service businesses and large business engaged in growing corn for grain with minimum area coverage. For both machines I would choose the cutter adapter on the frame 9 meters.

Staňková, Eva ; Tvrdek, Petr (advisor) ; Špačková, Alena (referee)
Annotation: Málková, Eva. Church Music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Prague: Hussite Theological Faculty, Charles University, 2012. Thesis. The aim of this thesis is to introduce church music of Johann Sebastian Bach and its theological announcement. By looking up and appraising musical-theological elements at Bach's work this thesis brings near to the reader the theological, philosophical and mystic thinking of Bach. By pre-understanding and complexity of perception of Bach's church music is possible to see deep sense and aim of artist's work. In the first (theoretical) part I am engaged in systems of thinking that could Bach's church work influence. Then I am specifying the pieces that are supposed to be church music. In the second (practical) part I am looking for musical- theological elements that could Bach be influenced with. By researching of Bach's artistic style I am trying to find correlation of musical and theological contents and I am trying to point out that the message of Bach's church work is relevant.

Ideas of Social Work Students about Future Profession
MACKOVÁ, Lenka
The present thesis is concerned with the ideas that social work students have of their future profession. The theoretical part defines and characterizes social work, its mission, objectives and methods. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the history of education of social workers in the Czech Republic, where it examines in detail the beginnings of this type of education, areas of work of social workers and the development of social work in connection with education from the World War Two to the present. The following chapter is engaged in the education system regarding social work at present. The last chapter looks at social work as a profession. This chapter further depicts and defines ancillary professions, identifying areas of self-realisation of graduates from social work studies, and finally, it describes ethics in social work. The objective of our thesis is to ascertain the ideas of social work students of their future profession, for example, the thesis identifies the kind of workplaces such students would prefer to work at, the target group they would be interested in, and, in point of fact, if such students want to find thein jobs within the field of their study. The practical part uses the quantitative research method, which was conducted by means of a questionnaire technique. The research group consisted of social work students at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies and Theological Faculty of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The research based on questionnaires was carried out both in Bachelor's and Master's study programmes. Only full-time students participated in the research. Pre-research was conducted before the research per se. The following hypothesis was set forth: ,,Students of social work want to work within their field of study." The above hypothesis was tested statistically by means of non-parametric testing in the SPSS programme. McNemar's test was used, which proved that the values ,,he/she wants to work within their field of study" and ,,he/she does not want to work within their field of study" do not show significant mutual differences and their probability is the same. Based on the test, a sufficient difference was identified between the resulting signification at the significance level of 0,5; accordingly, the zero hypothesis ,,Students of social work do not want to work within their field of study" was declined, and the hypothesis set forth was confirmed. The findings imply that students have different plans as to their future professions. In particular, this regards workplaces and target groups with which students would like to work, and the query if students want to work within their field of study. For most part, students want to work in the state administration, in nongovernmental non-profit organizations, and chiefly with children. In addition, a part of students emerged that do not wish to find their jobs within the discipline they currently study. Other considerable differences were identified in particular categories that were examined regarding the aspect of student's willingness or unwillingness to work as social workers, the reasons why they want or do not want to work within thein fields of study, practice in the social area (outside their school practice), search for a job during studies, and the key activities of social workers. These differences are further described in the discussion part. The conclusion gives a description of the research findings and assesses the complex problems of ideas that social work students have as regards their future profession; in particular, the problematic self-realisation of this group in the employment market. The author outlines possible solutions to these problems. Moreover, other issues related to the theme discussed are considered. Options of possible utilization of the present thesis are delineated towards the end of the thesis.
