Comparison of wage compensation and sickness insurance in the Czech Republic and Great Britain in the period 2007 - 2016

This bachelor thesis provides an analysis of wage compensation and sickness insurance in the Czech Republic and analysis of wage compensation in the Great Britain. The differences between aforementioned systems emerge from different approach to social policy. The British system arised from a liberal model of social state. On the other hand, Czech system arised from a redistributive model. In the Czech model, higher social benefits are provided. It makes higher pressure on the state budget. Benefits in the British model are at a low level and are tested by income. The Czech system provides a higher salary replacement rate than the British system. The Czech system is more solid and provides higher coverage ratio of mandatory spendings. But the British system offers absolute equivalence. All employees in the Great Britain recieve the same amount of wage compensation.
Change of health insurance in the Czech Republic after 2009 - Institucional Analysis

This diploma thesis focuses on changes in the system of sickness insurance in the Czech Republic since 2009. Based on the analysis of the development of social security in the context of neoliberal capitalism and economic globalization, the aim of the thesis was to reflect the ideological and factual basis and the legitimacy of the institutional change in the sphere of sickness insurance in connection with adoption of Act No. 187/2006 Coll., On sickness insurance and the discovery of socio-economic consequences of these changes. The theoretical basis of this thesis has been the institutional change in the sphere of sickness and the (non) legitimacy of the policy in this sphere of public finance reforms. Other theories have included the relationship of economic and social policy that they have been closely related to the theory of social state. The social state has been the beginning of the subject of aging, globalization and the recession of economic development in the last decades. Sickness and health insurance in selected nations of the European Union

Since numerous legislative changes in sickness insurance in the Czech and Slovak republics are currently occurring, it is worth to analyze their impact on society. Because of the interconnected evolution of sickness and health insurance, it is essential to look at these changes from a broader perspective. Also health insurance regulation constitutes one of the most debated over legal areas due to its enormous implications on the lives of every single one of us. Certain aspects of health insurance reform in the Slovak republic did not go exactly according to the plan and its results are therefore increasingly met with outrage. The aim of the work is to analyze the most interesting aspects of sickness and health insurance reforms in the Czech and Slovak republics and further identify its positives and weaknesses. Furthermore two alternative concepts of sickness and health insurance regulation are described. Analysis of Incapacity for Work Due to Disease or Injury and Presenteeism in the Czech Republic

The aim of this dissertation is to provide the readers with as comprehensive view of the issue of sickness and accident rate of workers in relation to work attendance as possible. The dissertation deals with both absenteeism of sick individuals, i.e. the incapacity for work, and presenteeism, that is the performance of gainful employment despite acutely impaired health condition. Due to the different nature and level of knowledge of the examined phenomena, each of them is devoted a different level of attention. The issue of the incapacity for work due to disease or injury is analyzed in more detail. Development of the parametric values is set in the context of administration and legal changes, which have occurred in the Czech Republic since the early 1990s, and conditionality of the occurrence of the incapacity for work due to disease or injury are further investigated based on individual anonymized data. In the part dealing with presenteeism, the dissertation introduces the readers to the basic findings that have been published so far about this type of addressing health incapacitation. Socioeconomic effects of changes in the sickness insurance system after year 2009 in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of insurance system in the Czech Republic and its transformations since 2009. Analysis of social and economic effect that was brought by alternation in legislation in code 187 / 2006 has become the objective of this work. The reasons for issuing the legislation alternation were struggles to change negative trends in sick insurance, to avoid unjustified costs and to ensure financial stability of the system. The introduction mentions theoretical concepts concerning the topic of the work and methods and procedures used while composing this diploma thesis. The area of the sick insurance is characterized by basic principles, terms and conditions in claim system and brief history of social protection institute in Czech Republic is also covered. The empiric part describes individual changes as a part of public finance reform. Specific impact on selected actors was subsequently analyzed. Three possible sceneries of resolving sick insurance issue are designed in the final part of the work.
Security in sickness and maternity from the point of view of inhabitans of the Czech Republic

Presented diploma theses evaluates the sickness insurance system in the Czech Republic and Europe from the point of view of the Czech Republic citizens. The aim of the work is to analyze the sickness insurance system in the Czech Republic regarding the system changes and also to find out the reform impacts on insured. Simultaneously the aim is to compare the impacts of the Czech insured with the impacts on those migratory workers who draw a claim to the insurance benefit from foreign systems of Europe. The theory of the social capital focused on the social policy and the social security and its legitimacy, theory of the inequality and poverty, the theory of the human capital and the theory of the bureaucracy were the basis of this work. In order to acquire the objective data at first it was made the comparative analysis of the chosen sickness insurance systems in Europe. Other part of this work is focused on the reform of the sickness insurance system in the Czech Republic and it analyses and compares some chosen indicators of the system focusing the years 2008 and 2009. Evolution of the social insurance and relevant national institutions in the Czech Republic between years 2004 and 2014

The main aim of this thessis is to analyze the evolution of legal rules and structures of organization of public administration connected with social insurance between years 2004 - 2014. The first part of the thessis provides the intro of problem. The second part sumarises main crosspoints within the evolution of social insurance and sickness and pension insurance and its covering organization - Českou správu sociálního zabezpečení. The crucial changes are written down in surveillance tables. There are also mentioned changes in social benefits of passive policy of employment and evolution of Employment Department. These are also specified in surveilance tables. There are also analized: impact of legislative changes on amount of social benefits, administrative burden of byrocratic workers and total operating expenditures. These makroekonomics data are graphicaly pictured in the second part of the tessis. Crucial is the enumeration of changes that had real impact on the national economic.
Social security in the Czech Republic and Finland

The bachelor thesis concerns the social security in the Czech Republic and Finland. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to social security, including an explanation of the main key terms. It particularly defines following terms - social security, social policy and social events. The second chapter focuses on social security in the Czech Republic and the third chapter provides a description of social security in Finland. The social security systems of both countries are analysed with a special focus on their insurance and non-insurance systems. The last chapter contains a comparison of both systems and their evaluation.
The development of sickness insurance in the Czech Republic

The main goal of the bachelor thesis was to show the development of changes in the sickness insurance in the Czech Republic considering last 5 years. It was also supposed to analyze the changes and their influence on the groups of insured people. The first part of the bachelor thesis focused on the theoretical development of the sickness insurance legislative adjustment. There was not only described the comprehensive legislative adjustment but also the development of changes since 2009 to 2014. The second part of this bachelor thesis focused on the calculation of the sick leave benefits for model examples according to the legislative adjustment. Their results were compared with the changes in the legislative adjustment during the mentioned period. The practical part includes the analysis itself and the evaluation of the impact of the changes in the sick leave insurance during last 5 years. The impact of the changes on the groups of insured people was analyzed and evaluated in the practical part's conclusion. Also the results of the legislative adjustment impact on the insured people were summed up. The main points which were analyzed and evaluated: The incomes and the expenses for the sickness insurance; mainly the legislative adjustment impact on the specific examples was analyzed. The development of the reduction limits. The development of the percentage for calculation of the sickness insurance benefits. Sick leave benefits proceeding. The administrative period compliance. The processing of the sick leave benefits wit the enforcement deduction. The development of the temporary incapability for work, which included some of the main indicators: The number of the people who ended their incapability to work; the number of people whose incapability for work was ended by the decision of the OSSZ; The total number of the days when people didn't work due to illness; The average time of illness; The compliance of the treatment regimen inspection. In the end the main goal of this bachelor thesis became the interpretation of the changes in the new law number 187/2006 Sb., about sickness insurance, as amended, effective since January 1st 2009. Together with the adoption of this law many essential changes were made.
